After more than one terrible experience at Trusty Dental in Stamford, I took a long time researching other dentists in the area and spent ample time reading reviews prior to switching. I've now been to Harbor Point Dental twice and have only positive things to say. Dr. Guido is a pleasure. As a nervous patient, he was calming, reassuring, attentive and very friendly. He is a wonderful doctor. The office is lovely and incredibly clean. This has been one of the worst experiences for dental care I've ever been through. Please note that the dentist is nothing short of fantastic and I'd highly recommend his services! However, when it comes to the Office Manager, this is where the serious issues start. I won't get into details, but I've been chasing a resolution for months on end. Even with the assistance of my insurance company, I still have yet to get action from the office manager. I actually held off on posting a review, but I'm beyond the point of being nice. Nice new dentist but the staff is so unprofessional and rude especially the office manager who pretends to be the boss. Carmen made me wait about six months to get back to me about having my root canal redone since it fell out eight months later. They initially wanted to charge me 900.00 up,front again but I asked Carmen to ask if I can please have it at no cost since the lousy dentist who did it had been fired. i waited months and they never called and Carmen never apologized. Shes evil. If I didn't call again. I would not have gotten my root canal done for free. She seriously has evil tendencies. As I left, she told people aloud and said I wanted to open the cabinets. I have OCD and was checking to make sure they were closed. omg punish me for having OCD. Why would I open cabinets lol. unless there is candy in there lol no thank you. Carmen asked me not to talk to the hygienistl I've been there three years and never have I met her or been spoken to. I knew from the internet she had a bad bedside manner but for lack of better judgement I went anyway. "We've accomadated you enough she said.". They were upset because I was very sick and missed several appointments. What's that supposed to mean? I responded by saying, Aren't you supposed to accommodate patients. Disabled or not she is disrespectful to many. I feel bad for Dr. Cimato because he's a nice guy and I think people like him. If you don't mind paying expensive fees upfront that the insurance is supposed to pay for or being attacked by a woman who is delusional then this is your place. Thank you to the people on here who warned me about Carmen. I'm so sorry I didn't listen. As someone who was a psychiatric social worker, I advise you to be cautious if you go here. I've never had the opportunity to work with Dr. Cimato so I can only say he's very nice but expensive and wants payment up front which is bizarre in my opinion. It's just not the American way. You get billed everywhere else for whatever the insurance company doesn't pay. Well, I met a nice dentist from Walcott who takes my insurance and will only charge me for travel to help me since I am having dental pain and I need meds. Would not recommend going to this "dental group". My dads a retired dentist and after him telling me numerous of times to not ever go to a "dental group" I realized why he was correct. Stick with a family owned dentist and you won't be upsold and lied to about what's actually going on in your mouth. First red flag, The dental hygienist did more diagnosis within my mouth than the actual dentist. Once the dentist came in I was told I needed two crowns, a filing, and possibly a tooth removed (all based off the hygienist notes). From there I was upsold on a "cleaning" that should have been part of my regular 6 month exam. All in all I feel like this is like a used car dealership, they are looking to up sell you and make up fake diagnoses for their insurance and personal pockets. read more

My wife and I have been going to this dentist's office for three years, and they're always great and thorough. I just had my first cleaning since before the pandemic with Angela, who took her time with me and really helped me understand what was happening with my teeth. She also explained enough about flossing that for the first time I've actually started doing it and I know how so it's not such a chore. I went here for about two years while living in Stamford. It is a beautiful office, very nice fish tank, and the dentist goes out of his way to be nice and buddy up with you. But beware, its a scam! First off, he tried to charge me for a night guard that I never ordered or requested. He insisted that I had to straighten my teeth and pay $500 for a night guard. They kept calling me and asking when I was going to pay for it. Finally I was able to get them to stop nagging me about this, however every time that I went to the office I seemed to have more 'cavities' and work that needed to be done. Before this happened, I told my girlfriend that she should try him out. The dentist told her that she not only had 5+ cavities (she's only had one or two cavities in her life), but that she needed a ROOT CANAL! She was experiencing no pain or other issues. She was skeptical and went to another dentist for a second opinion. That dentist told her that she didn't have ONE cavity, she certainly didn't need a root canal, and that her teeth looked great. Don't fall for interior decor. They are preforming unnecessary procedures and evaluations to make an extra buck. read more

Dr. Cimato is a spectacular dentist. He has been my dentist for quite some time, prior to relocating his practice to Harbor Point. The new office is beautiful, modern, and makes you feel quite comfortable; which is especially helpful for those who are not fond of visiting the dentist. I have personally not needed extensive work done however the minor fillings I have had throughout the years have all been fine. Just recently I needed my first root canal and it was not a bad experience at all. Dr. Cimato is unbelievably thorough and even if work that he is completing goes over your allotted appointment time he does not rush and ensures the work is flawless. Furthermore any work I have needed to complete has been painless and I have had no discomfort or complications. The office management team is wonderful and really tries to accommodate your schedule and any urgent requests. The dental hygienist there is great too! Everyone here is nice and the place is very clean and welcoming on the inside. Too bad the dentist wrecked my teeth and sent me on a nerve-shattering hell ride. I'm starting to think I didn't even really have cavities. He was pushing a root canal on me after I went in for the second or third time when my tooth pain - which started after the first visit - was not getting better. I decided I should probably stop letting this guy put a drill in my mouth, so I went to get a second opinion at a different office and the guy there said that I definitely didn't need a root canal and that he could fix the problem with other far less invasive methods. I finally found this one once I moved to Connecticut and couldnt belief how smooth the experience was. I literally felt no pain, no soreness and no discomfort. After getting multiple Root Canals (that took 45 minutes each), I have absolutely nothing even remotely negative to say about the entire experience. I recommend this dental office to everyone I know. From the moment you enter the staff is at your service and extremely courteous. The atmosphere is extremely comforting from the fish tank to the seats. The assistants are extremely nice and the service is excellent regardless of which dental hygienist performs the service that says a lot!!!! The dentist himself is patient, funny and works with extreme care and efficiency! I don't live in Stamford but every time I have to do my check up or I have a problem I come to Stamford just for them! I rarely review on Yelp but wanted to share my wonderful experience. Pregnancy can do a number on your teeth and I needed a root canal ASAP, was in so much pain. Dr. Cimato and his assistant made sure I was comfortable and have a wonderful bedside manner which is so important when doing these semi invasive treatments. My son is 3 months old and I did not have access to reliable child care, the front desk staff went above and beyond to sit with him while I had my procedure done. Also, I was so impressed that they were able to tell me my out of pocket costs prior to having my procedure done, doctors usually tell you to wait for a bill in the mail. Ok so for anyone who has a phobia of dentist (myself included) I want to let everyone know that the staff at Harbor Point Dental was amazing. The process to have my wisdom tooth remove was literally painless, they seem to be very understanding of people's fear and stuff. They put numbing gel on the area had it there a few mins, after they injected my gums all around the tooth that was getting extracted. After that I literally felt 3 soft pushes on my jaw, next thing I know the Periodontist said "ok your tooth is out" I couldn't talk but in my head was like an explosion of joy and realization, due to the fact that I had such a negative idea of how they(surgeons) perform removals and stories of other people made me have a stigma on dentist in general. Furthermore, the surgeon who took care of me was impeccably communicative with me THROUGHOUT the WHOLE process asking me if it hurt if so how much, told me what was the next step so nothing came as a surprise. Overall, if you need ANY oral surgery/maintenance I would say to come here the office is super clean and very comfortable atmosphere.
