If you love your parents, DO NOT leave them at Summit Memory Care on Signal Butte in Mesa. Horrible care, wet beds, feces on the sheets, and toilet where she tried to take care of herself. There was a wet diaper in the hall, and a woman wandering in the hall with no pants on! I was visiting when the tech came in and asked me if I could take care of the mess that I had gone to get her to clean up. The patients have NO way to call for help other than hollering until someone happens to come in. When I asked about this, they told me "we check on them". I was there for 4 hours, and no one came in. The meals are HORRIBLE. I stayed to enjoy a meal with her, and no one at the table could eat the meal. None of us could even figure out what it was, broccoli with a brown gravy stuff on it. read more

This place is an absolute joke. It's a bunch of teenagers who run the place and have no idea what the hell they are doing. Residents are left on the floor for hours. The nursing director makes the most medication errors out of anybody there. Especially wouldn't recommend memory car because your loved one will be treated poorly. Forget about showers and dental hygiene it won't happen. They will be left soaking wet in urine and BM and end up with end of life bed sores. read more

Would not recommend if you have a parent that needs more than just medication management. It's more of a independent living then assisted living. Sales are amazing of what to expect. But your love one will not receive lots of help. Very few activities, they don't follow through on watching any special diets. Always good for family to stop by and check on your family member. I have been working with Ginger at The Summit for two years for the majority of my discharge needs for transition of care and have been absolutely pleased with their promptness and communication on all of their residents and potential residents! I have personally toured their beautiful facility and met the staff at The Summit and can honestly say as a Nurse Case Manager that this facility provides top notch care and stays really involved with the families and patients needs like no other facility in the valley! This place is FANTASTIC! We just moved my mother-in-law in and the staff is SO kind, every single one of them. My personal favorite thing is the courtyard. It's so well done. A little hot to use now but in a couple of months it's going to be wonderful. Food is very important for seniors--their chef is top notch! The food is flavorful and plentiful. The Summit has been such a blessing in our life! They have been so kind to our Mom and have bent over backwards making her feel at home and comfortable. The staff is always kind, friendly and genuine. They truly take the time to show an interest in Mom and discern what she needs. I had the opportunity to transfer a relative to this facility. The care provided by the staff at The Summit at Sunland Springs can only be described as amazing. It starts at the top - with caring administrative staff and can be seen through all levels of the organization. The caring and loving environment extends not only to the staff, but to the families as well. The facility is relatively new, is clean and provides a great sense of 'home' and not an institution. I cannot think of a better place for my loved one to spend their final days, and truly appreciate the love, care and support the Summit provided. read more

This an outstanding facility for those in need of memory care. Physically the facility is clean, attractive and welcoming. But, the staff are what makes The Summit outstanding. The care, attention and one-on-one concern for patients is truly remarkable. Families are also welcome and the leadership and nursing staff maintain excellent communication with the family members. The Summit is a clean, uplifting and beautifully designed facility with a caring and attentive staff. My mother lived there for nearly 7 months before her passing. I am grateful that she lived her last months in a place that I would choose for myself or any other member of my family. We had confidence that my mom was receiving the appropriate attention and care she needed which took pressure off of me to be there constantly. All of their care is custom built for your individual needs. I found the cost to be very reasonable especially after visiting many facilities that were not near the quality of the Summit. Other positive features that my mother enjoyed: 1) Delicious meals made fresh daily, 2) diverse activities for all levels of ability, 3) a laundry facility on each floor 4) excellent housekeeping service, 5) in-house hair salon 6) daily movies with fresh popcorn in their theatre and 7) near-by shopping and dinning with a terrific Fry's Super grocery store almost walking distance. I am grateful to Summit for my very positive experience during a difficult period of my mom's life and I recommend them to anyone who needs assisted care. read more

The Summit is incredible. From the just-like-home feeling of the facility, to the staff, the dining experience, location, and residents, it is absolutely top-notch. I was impressed by the variety of activities done on a daily basis (along with printed daily itineraries) which included music time, movies, games, arts and crafts, manicures/pedicures, card games, etc. I also loved that those activities were made to fit the era that the residents were born in. Each individual room is roomy and very clean. I love that the staff encourages the residents to personalize their rooms. I can tell the facility is run by people who are very much invested in their residents and will go above and beyond to care for them. The staff always knew the names and situations (even other family members who didn't live at the facility) of the residents and I was always blown away by their patience and soft demeanor. I would absolutely recommend this facility to anyone looking to help their loved one during the trying time that comes with memory loss. read more
