There were so many ice cream shops in town when I was visiting, I was overwhelmed by the choices. Went with this one based on Yelp ratings and was NOT disappointed! I don't usually go for super sweet ice cream. The owner was friendly and let me taste test a few options. I ended up getting huckleberry ice cream on a waffle cone! I wish I could get it shipped back to the east coast!! So delicious. Even my dad (who doesn't usually like sweets) enjoyed it a lot! read more

Cute little ice cream shop that has friendly staff. The waffle cones are made in house, none of that boxed crap. The mint chocolate was my husbands choice and he said he really liked that the chocolate chips were soft. I had the cookies and cream and enjoyed it. read more

The Sundae Saloon is across the street from the Park Theater on Hwy. 36 just 1 block from Elkhorn Ave. (the main drag). Can't miss it. I rolled my window down & inhaled while waiting @ the stoplight, & my car sensed a nearby parking space. I was set on a Funnel Cake, as I rarely have the opportunity to buy 1. But I was unprepared for the assortment of rare concoctions inside. The hard-working Owner was everywhere, doing it all, while being friendly to the customers. I spent an hour happily sitting on a saddle-stool. I will forgo listing the treats I enjoyed in addition to my Funnel Cake ~ but suffice it to say that the Sundae Saloon will be my 1st stop on my next visit. read more

The turle sundae with butter-pecan was a real treat this past Saturday. My wife really was happy to have vegan-ice cream options.

The people that run this spot are incredibly nice and accommodating. I think that they're prices are very reasonable. The only downside is that they have very basic and very few flavors. I come every season for the dole whip, it's amazing! read more

They have many different flavors of ice cream here. All they do is ice cream right now with the whole COVID-19. You need to wear a mask entering the building and you're greeted by a worker halfway in. Their menu is limited which is unfortunate. Ice cream is really great tasting. Despite claims that the Sundae Saloon in Estes Park is closed we enjoyed it all the same. It is in fact open and the ice cream is wonderful. The new owner, whom purchased the store last February, has kept it open and is very nice. It was the only ice cream parlor with hot fudge. My wife really loves her hot fudge sundaes. I had a square scoop of the Rocky Road in a waffle cone and it was delicious. I was split between it and the cinnamon ice cream. The cinnamon tastes just like a snickerdoodle, the owner was looking for the best way to describe it. Hopefully, she changes the name and names a new flavor after me for rebranding her flavor... then again, maybe not, I would not like it to be known that I was liked by everyone. My masculine bravado could be Immeasurably damaged and I could never show myself in Estes again. LOL If you happen to be in Estes and crave some cubed scooped ice cream with hot fudge go to the Sundae Saloon. It is right across the street from the Park theatre. She also makes funnel cakes, if you are not glucose intolerant make it a funnel cake sundae. She also sells candied, caramel apples, frozen yogurt, and has many toppings to make them perfect for you. I am a 9 year old kid so I know what I am talking about, it was the BEST ice cream I had ever had no matter what they changed it to. All of the employees were wearing masks (this was during Covid) and they got new gloves every time they gave us something. I had the Maui Waui which was basically guava juice (which was really colorful) with pineapple and mango ice cream. My parents liked it almost as much as I did (which was on level 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 etc.) so in summary it was THE BEST ICE CREAM IN THE UNIVERSE AND YOU HAVE TO GO THERE SO YOU CAN HAVE SOME OF THE HEAVEN! read more

My family has been coming to Estes for over 20 years. I thought when we were kicked out (and yelled at by the owner) when one of our kids "touched and broke a $1 piece of candy" it was just us. I was planning on buying it up until then. Then my brother in law tells me he was charged another $3 when his son dropped his untouched cone on another trip. Could just be us but we won't return after being loyal Malt Shop (previous name) fans. Both situations could have been handled more professionally. read more

Great selection. Very nice people! Of course ice cream is good, but it's always nice to give your money to an establishment that appreciates your business! It's pricey, but it's Estes Park so be ready to pay. The last time we were there they said they'd be open until 5, yet when we got there at 3 they were closed. The place has the B-E-S-T Ice Cream Ever.... I had an Apple Pie Shake. It was sooooo Goood! This place was under a construction change when I was in there, but it looks like it should have a very neat atmosphere when it is done. The owners explained the Old West Malt Shop idea and it will be good. Also, I had an apple pie caramel apple and they were making the caramel from scratch! Just a place I would recommend to anyone. I loved this place. I went with all my friends to this place after a long trip to the Rocky Mountains, hoping for a nice, yummy reward after backpacking for five days. This is exactly what we got. I tried The Sundae Saloon's three frozen yogurt flavors, and it was delicious! The man who was working there was really nice. He gave us a discount for our treats. If I ever end up coming back to Estes Park and crave something sweet, this is definitely going to be the first place on the list. read more
