Great little breakfast place, but seemingly one of the only breakfast places in the Brevard area? There are a couple bakeries, but if you want eggs and the like, this is your main option. Luckily the food is very good, the place is full of character and hosts a variety of locals-BC college kids, seasoned locals, tourists, mountaineering folk, bikers, all kinds. It's a pleasant mix of people on a less-than diverse area demographically speaking, but that's not the restaurant's fault. I had the daily quiche, it was fantastic; my husbands omelette was solid and cooked perfectly, I had the mint mocha iced latte which hit all the right spots! Solid place, give it a try. read more

A place where you can find the locals (including Steve Martin on occasion). They serve a decent breakfast at a decent price. Food is usually prepared and out quickly. Our favorites are their omelettes they are hearty and filling. Recommend their bagels as well, toasted just right & slathered in butter & cream cheese. Service is average. Exactly what you want from a local diner! There's a beverage discount for bringing your own cup. There are so many great options it was hard to choose. The portions are generous, even of toppings/sides like cream cheese. You can order almost anything you want on your oatmeal, like blueberries and pecans... and they'll heap them on. Yum! We were just driving through the area from the Asheville airport on our way to Cashiers, but if I'm ever doing that again I'd certainly stop in for another yummy breakfast or lunch. We were looking for a late breakfast. The Sunrise was accommodating a large crowd in quick order. Other restaurants in Brevard were not serving breakfasts, that we could find. The food here was fresh, delicious. I had a cup of oatmeal and a fried egg and some fresh fruit along with an espresso latte. Don't be intimidated by the long line as you enter this tiny cafe. Orders are up in just a few minutes. It is across from Brevard College and it seems that many students and staff make this location their lunch spot. read more

This is a great little hole in the wall place for breakfast and lunch. They are open 7:00 AM - 2:30 PM and closed Sundays so Saturday is pretty much the only time we can stop by. There are so many choices it can be overwhelming but I guarantee you'll walk out of there satisfied. Keep in mind that it is a small place and is usually very crowded but that's a good thing in my opinion. They have a rewards card you might have to ask for where if you buy a certain amount of sandwiches you get one free. Always a fun time chatting up the staff as they are all friendly and really cool people. read more

The coffee is good here with several choices, and the bagels too. My complaint is that I can never get a bagel toasted here. They only warm the bagels. But other places like Panera also have problems providing a toasted bagel. The Sunrise Cafe does have a kind of cheery busy-ness about it, which may partly explain its popularity. read more

This place has been a favorite for years! Their menu consists of all the breakfast and lunch essentials, which are mostly very filling (top foods for me are Breakfast Nachos and Spinach Melt Bagels). Their bagels are done right, toasted to perfection with a wide variety of flavored cream cheeses and other toppings. Food comes out relatively quickly. Workers are generally pleasant but can get very flustered during the busy hours, which sometimes makes them a bit standoffish as they're trying to focus on getting all orders taken and all food brought out quickly. 4 stars because the main thing that is a real bother is having to shimmy around the crowded tables and walkway, which you have to do a lot on weekends during lunch. Place could use a space upgrade, but it'll continue to be a regular stop for me and the family! read more

Yaaay Sunrise Cafe! Definitely the best breakfast/coffee spot in Brevard, right across from the college so you get a relaxed atmosphere (as opposed to the other coffee shops in town that cater exclusively to the wealthy). Delicious bagel sandwiches and breakfast burritos. Mmmm. read more

Arrived at 7:20 am on a Saturday morning, place not quite half full. The morning sun rising floods the restaurant so u can barely see, so to here the staff apologize for the sun..made me smile. You walk up to counter, place your order. ( someone told me they serve great bagels, so I am having one). I purchased an everything bagel, I was anal how I wanted it..and I hate being like that on a first visit, but they nailed it. She told me free refills on coffee. They had an assortment to choose from. We ate inside, the place was clean and immaculate. Looks like they carry local artist photos and paintings on walls...very cool. The best breakfast/lunch restaurant in Western North Carolina. I have been visiting Sunrise Café for many years now and I have never (not even once!) been disappointed. They have a very large menu with options for absolutely everyone and their service is always top notch. Just to tell you a few of my favorites on the menu, I love the Belgian waffles with oats and chocolate chips, the veggie lover salad, ALL of the bagels with any of their many different flavors of cream cheese, the strawberry banana smoothie, the veggie wrap, and the veggie pizza bagel. Sunrise also has a variety of sweet treats that change week by week along with a specials menu that is always worth glancing over. I've never actually written a review on Yelp, but I went to the sunrise cafe because I've never been and wanted to try somewhere new. It was around 11 and there were a reasonable amount of people at the restaurant, but it wasn't overly busy. A group of my friends and I had a seat and waited for 10-15 minutes without being greeted. We witnessed a couple that came in after us and had been greeted. We got up and moved to a more visible area, not that the one we were in was very secluded, but once we moved we waited another 10-15 minutes before getting up and leaving because we still had not been waited on or even greeted. We went to Melanie's Bistro where we were greeted immediately, even though they were busier than the sunrise cafe and enjoyed a delicious lunch. I don't think I'll be back to try the sunrise grill. read more

My wife and I were looking for a good breakfast restaurant and we found The Sunrise Cafe all the food is fresh and good during our visit I had the 3 egg omelette platter the price point was great at $4.50 for the plate I added green peppers, mushrooms, onions, ham and cheddar cheese, (these extra toppings cost a little extra), but I didnt mind, it also comes with your choice of home fries or grits and your choice of bread for toast (they have A LOT of bread choices ), a biscuit or a bagel. All the ingredients seemed farm fresh and delicious, would definitely bring all my friends and family here for breakfast or lunch, this is a must stop if your in Brevard, NC looking for a GREAT breakfast or lunch. read more

Sunrise is definitely the best place to get breakfast or lunch in town. However if you need huge American over sized portions then this isn't the place for you (i guess you could double up).
