Our first visit under new ownership, and we'll be back! Great breakfast. Simple menu, but everything we had was delicious..

The food is fresh, well-executed, and clearly made with care. Whether you're going classic breakfast or something a little more elevated, it all comes out spot on. You can tell they take pride in what they're doing. The vibe is just as good as the food--clean, inviting, and the kind of place you actually want to hang out for a bit. Great energy without feeling rushed. This is one of those spots locals point you to for a reason. If you're in Brevard, don't miss it.

I am so glad that we discovered this spot for brunch on our first morning in town! I must say…read more though, it is not the easiest place to find, we turned around not once, but twice and ultimately decided to just park the car and get out and walk and it was just by chance we saw the very small sign on the side of the building with the name of the restaurant as the actual entrance is not directly on King Street. Once we entered the building, we were greeted by a friendly hostess and promptly seated in booth. Our server was friendly and attentive and was helpful when I was struggling to decide on my meal. I ordered the corned beef bowl and wow, I think that was probably the best corned beef that I have ever had! I do wish the rest of the bowl would have been more flavorful/better seasoned though. It was a cute atmosphere and would certainly return again. Thanks for a nice breakfast experience!

Here we go again!!! Another review spurred by a lovely Yelper liking my pictures. Thank you Rose…read moreD. For jarring my memory and giving me memories to fix not writing a great review for this place. We traveled to Brevard back in 2022 for one of our annual leaf viewing tours. Fun fact about Brevard! There are white squirrels everywhere. There are also regular brown squirrels too. My wife told me about this before we got here but it's strange, there are so many of them. One of the oddest things I find is that there are no mixed squirrels. Like kinda brown, or kinda white, it's either one or the other. They hang together, surely they get it on. What the hell is going on here?!?!? Where did they come from? Why haven't they spread to other areas?? Anyway.... About this bakery. We stopped by here a few times for meals and snacks. Most of it was just pretty good and nothing to really write home (lol) about. I did not know this at the time and did not truly savor the moment well enough. I had the absolute best pastry I have ever had in my life here. I often think back to it and when I see a similar looking pastry only to be let down when I try it. It was the scone to beat all other scones!!! So freaking good!! Orange Pistachio Coriander was the flavor and nothing will ever beat it I am afraid!! If you make it here, check out the white squirrels. There are even gift shops dedicated to them and I swear they have little signs all over town about them. Also.... Mantiques is right down the way. Great shopping!! '22 - I can't even remember, lol.

We've stopped in several times, usually early when it's quiet, and unfortunately the staff (with one exception) have been noticeably unfriendly--especially toward my kids. My boys are always polite and well-mannered, so it's frustrating to see them treated with impatience or attitude. There's just no excuse for adults to be dismissive or rude to children or any customers, especially in a place that serves families. That said, Matthew deserves recognition. He's always been welcoming, kind, and genuinely great with my boys. He sets the standard for what the customer experience should be. I hope management takes a closer look at how guests are being treated, because with better service, this place could easily be somewhere we'd visit regularly.

The menu is creative, thoughtful, and clearly driven by a chef who knows what they're doing. Every dish feels intentional, with bold flavors and elevated execution that go well beyond typical small-town expectations. What really stands out is how well it all comes together. It's not just creative for the sake of it--the food delivers. Great balance, great presentation, and dishes that actually live up to the vision. If you're looking for something a step above while in Brevard, this is the spot. It punches way above its weight.

I called over to the Square Root to check the kitchen timing (it was getting on 8) and all was well. We managed a seat at the bar and this was perfect for us. We chatted a bit with the servers, who were amazing. There is a ton enjoyment for the job and the space going on here. We also met some semi-locals who were awesome. Shout out to "Kendall-Jackson"! The menu is full of local ingredients and plenty of temptations. The specials were even more tempting and we grabbed oysters to kick it off. The pepper/spicy mignonette is so so good. It's just the right mix of classic and new. I didn't need the other sauce, especially with just 6 oysters. I eyed the yellowtail snapper (snapper, right? def not tuna) special, but opted for the Korean chicken sandwich. Quite good! I could have used a stronger flavor from the kimchi and, frankly, less of a mess, but the cook was just right, the flavor profiles were excellent, and the portion was plenty. A really good sandwich! I had the sweet potato chips as my side and I can see why they are popular. We kept the leftover sauces from the oysters just so I could dip my chips. Good call! She Said: I'd like to start by complimenting the fantastic staff. They've obviously been here a while, and they're enthusiastic about this place. He Said covered the oysters (yum!) and the mignonette (double yum!), so I'll focus on the mushroom tart that I got as my meal. The rough puff was really done well, and the mushroom and goat cheese combo was terrific. I thought they would be inside the pastry, but I adapted. The whole dish was terrific, and though I thought it was too salty for me, I also know that I'm sensitive to salt. All in all, we will definitely be back! Potty Points: no trip to the potty for me on this one!
