No buddy, this is for me

I was in Sisters a couple of weekends ago and I need to share the love about this incredible ice cream shop. First of all, love all the flavour options. I was a little overwhelmed with all the potential goodness but eventually settled on the pistachio ice cream. Incredibly delicious! Had a wonderful experience here and they are a must visit on a hot Sisters afternoon for sure.

We're pretty fortunate to live somewhere that even The laziest of ice cream stores can settle on Umpqua or a Tillamook. However I always have mad respect for anyone who makes their own. I got the Oregon Trail. I feel like hazelnuts are an underused ingredient elsewhere. Big chunks of em with the blackberry swirl in chocolate ice cream. I'm in love. The boy got the blue moon. Tastes like fruit loops. He wanted "blue ice cream" so that's what we got. The wife got the marionberry. All of them were rich creamy and flavorful. Well done!

Great little place. Huge selection of different flavors! Can't go wrong with Coffee Caramel Cookie as a nice mid-afternoon pick-me up.

    Sooooo.... good!

Wow! This ice cream!! Definitely worth the trip to Sisters. We ordered 2 salted caramel, cookies and cream, and marion berry ice cream. All flavors are made by the company. They offer quite the selection of flavors, it was difficult to settle on just one, and a variety of ways to prepare and enjoy the ice cream. The staff was pleasant and accommodating, the dining area clean and tidy, and the service was quick - there was no wait at 7:00 PM on a Thursday summer night.

A family favorite for dessert in Sisters, quirks and all. There are no shortage of places to get dessert in town. The classic Sno Cap for soft serve, the newcomer, Cuppa Yo, for frozen yogurt and Ali's, the other choice for ice cream, across the street. BJ's has been in Sisters for a few years, but it feels like longer since the signage references their first location in Florence that opened in 1978. They have a great selection of Oregon-influenced flavors like the Oregon Trail (my personal favorite) and Marionberry, and have generous scoops. It is old-fashioned ice cream, made with no chemicals and no colors. On the downside, they tend to feel understaffed and so the wait can be longer than I'd like. But, there is plenty to see while you wait. They always have a bunch of other random items for sale in the store from herbal teas to Red Bull infused drinks, accompanied by funny signs. I personally wish they had more indoor seating and continued the old school ice cream parlor theme throughout the space. I'm always amused by the amount of blinged out accessories for sale, but never see anyone shopping in that area. Great location in the center of town and good old school ice cream. All the rest is a distraction.

    Amazing Ice Cream...

Great ice cream, tons of flavors with indoor and outdoor seating. Try the Black Licorice.

Wasn't a huge fan of the ice cream, but the chocolates were delicious! Fun little space for desserts in the afternoon.

Ask the Community - The SweetEasy Co.

Is BJ's open for business? Every time we drive through town (since COVID), it's been closed. Google Maps says the hours are 10-10. I don't think that's true. We love this place, so I was just wondering.

We got lucky today when we stopped there.. the owner was just closing up temporarily until covid restrictions return to indoor dining. They will reopen as SweetEasy, but the ice cream they serve will still be BJ's!

During Memorial Day weekend, the line was often out the door, yet it moved surprisingly fast. Even with the crowds, we usually had our drinks in hand within about 10 minutes. The Bourbon Caramel Latte has become a favorite, but honestly, we come here for more than the coffee. It's one of those places where you want to slow down for a bit. We'll grab a couple of drinks, find a place to sit, and spend an hour people-watching, reading, catching up on the news, or just enjoying the morning. The building itself adds to the experience. It feels like a classic mountain lodge, and there's always a steady mix of locals, tourists, hikers, cyclists, and dog owners passing through. Even when we're traveling with friends, Sisters Coffee becomes the mandatory first stop of the day. Will we be back? Of course. In fact, I think it's time I finally signed up for a coffee subscription so I can enjoy a little bit of Sisters when I'm back home. The table was filled with breakfast favorites. We ordered hotcakes, eggs, bacon, potatoes, and huevos rancheros. A couple of morning cocktails also made an appearance, including Cottonwood's version of a Bloody Mary and a rum-infused mocha. The huevos rancheros had a bit more kick than expected, but it worked. Our server was fun and easy to chat with, which added to the relaxed feel of the morning. Nobody rushed us, and breakfast with friends is one of those things that shouldn't be rushed. Will we be back? Probably. Cottonwood Cafe feels like a place where locals and visitors can both feel at home, and it was a nice way to wrap up another great trip to Sisters. After we sat down and started looking over the menu, our very friendly server came to take our order. Before she did, she apologized and told us she had some bad news--they were out of a few items. Unfortunately, it wasn't just a few things; it was almost the entire menu. They were out of bread, buns, and lettuce, along with several sandwiches, including the Reuben. She even asked if we wanted to stay given how many items were unavailable. I had been looking forward to their amazing smash burger, but since they were out of buns, that wasn't an option. Instead, I ordered a parfait bowl with a side of potatoes, and my mother ordered the buttermilk pancakes. This situation is unfortunate not only for the customers, but also for the servers, who are left trying to provide good service despite having so many menu items unavailable. Sadly, this experience was disappointing enough that we won't be returning.
