I love The Table! Whether it's for a lazy brunch or a quick pit stop before hitting up The Tate Modern, this place is absolutely worth it. They don't take reservations and like any place, the queue gets insane after 11. But the pancakes are really good (and I'm an American - do you know how hard it is to get good pancakes in this city??) and the service is quite friendly and mostly speedy as well. This place is a hot spot - it's in central Southwark and has "shared table" seating to maximize the space. My only wish is that it took reservations! Fastest and most delicious breakfast we had in London. I tried the sweet corn fritters and asked for my eggs scrambled soft. My boyfriend had the English breakfast and both of us had coffees. He enjoyed his English breakfast but I was super impressed with my meal. The corn fritters were sorta weird and dry but the eggs were PERFECT. I I've for soft scrambled eggs and they nailed it. The coffees were also absolutely delicious and creamy. The service was great even though there were only 2 servers in the whole place; we didn't have to wait for anything. We tried to come here tonight at about 21:05 and they said they were closed. The reason I am giving a 1 star review is because I have recently moved here from New York and one thing that I don't appreciate is restaurants advertising that they are open until a certain time (in this case 22:30) and being close much earlier then that. We waked a fair amount to get here and it just seems that this might be the norm but I want to let others know that they do not stay open until their advertised times. For this I doubt I will try the food as I don't want to waste my time for a place that might not be open when we get there. read more

Decent food. Nothing special for the price. The service however was pretty poor. Our server, Giorgia was very unfriendly and seemed to hate her job. There was a long wait to get a table and for service, not because there were alot of people, but because the servers were just inattentive, slow and rude. Im surprised by the high ratings. The food was just okay. Find somewhere else if you can. Oh and we saw the busyboy argue with guests at three different tables while we were there. Not very professional. Been here once for brunch with some old friends. The food and milkshakes were great! The chef/owner even did the ice bucket challenge.

I had the full English two days in a row because the other spot I was going to was closed. It was really good, really fresh, and really hot the first time. But the second time it came out way to quickly after I ordered. Like less than 3 minutes. My food was still tasy but it was lukewarm and the yolks were solid not runny. Probably the single best waffle I've ever had, outstanding sausage, and "The Stack," which is essentially a pile of protein and hollandaise atop a bagel. This was fantastic. We came on a Sunday (this morning), so we didn't have reservations. We were there by 9:30 and seated promptly. The wait staff were friendly and patient with our questions. Excellent food, loved my vegan Green Goddess breakfast (though I stole a bite of my dad's waffle and it was the best I've ever had). Not as keen on the ginger rhubarb soda, but nothing wrong with the way it was made, just my personal preference. Was given a huge pot of Earl Grey and a small saucer of soy milk, though I was offered a variety of non-dairy options. Our waitress, Stamatia (sp?) was very sweet and we found out she was Greek, so we looked up how to say thank you in Greek and she was so happy! My dad and husband ordered multiple Americanos, they were so good. Very reasonably priced for what you get, would definitely go back! read more

Fantastic choice for brunch and one of the best in the area. Many of the products are sourced locally from Borough Market and surrounding SE1. The burger is excellent; juicy, tasty and cooked to perfection, not to mention the fantastic sauce they put on it - no clue what it is but can't get enough! Does all the usual brunch favourites including all the 'Benedicts', pancakes, waffles etc. Can sometimes be a short queue but worth the wait! read more

I already really enjoyed this brunch place when I checked it out for the first time in 2015. When I went back again a couple of weeks ago, it managed to totally outdo itself and firmly place itself in my top 3 brunch places in London list. My friend & I shared the Brioche French Toast (AMAZING!) and the Belle Helene Waffles. Both were so tasty that we were seriously considering ordering another plate (even though we were totally stuffed already). Can't wait to go back there again. read more

The French toast brioche is amazing, particularly the one with grilled banana and bacon. Coffee is also great, all of this for a very reasonable price. I cut them a star for running out of waffles and disappointing my poor dining partner who had been craving waffles for ages, but otherwise so so good. read more

One of those "meh" experiences. It was fine, just nothing special. There doesn't seem to be a lot of creativity in London, when it comes to breakfast. I get that they all these places are trying to do a special coffee, but the food here, and at a lot of the other highly rated breakfast places, seem to be doing late 90s, early 00s, breakfasts. Lantana is trying, but lets itself down with the service. There is a real gap for a creative chef or chefs to shake up the breakfast/brunch experience, in the same way that was done with coffee about two years ago. read more

The wait was totally worth it! The food was delicious. I had the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs (no toast for me as I'm gluten-free). I don't know how they made such a simple dish taste so much better than every other restaurant, but they did. The meals of my fellow diners were also raved over. We also LOVED the tea they served. I emailed the restaurant after our meal to ask the brand of their (english breakfast) tea. The owner replied promptly and even offered to help me get some boxes if the company (http://www.teapigs.co.uk/) didn't ship internationally (they do). I discovered the Table through the joys of Yelp, and I love it when a place lives up to it's reviews. We went on a Friday night, and the place looked great, with fairy lights creating a fun atmosphere. Waiting for my party to arrive I perused the cocktail menu and settled on one, and was slightly put out when I went to order and they said there was no one on duty who could make cocktails... (The same applied later to coffees, but the fresh mint tea I had instead was very tasty) The ability to have breakfast at dinner time was appealing, and the food was really tasty, lovely and fresh. This is, hands down, the best breakfast in London. The finest ingredients, excellent service, papers at the ready, super strong coffee and The Table Stack. What's The Table Stack, you ask? It's goodness. Goodness piled high, combining all the major necessary food groups needed for a hangover (protein and carbs). I had the corn fritters with poached eggs and my husband had the full English. The fritters were light and fluffy, spinach was fresh and eggs were perfect. The sausages almost tasted as though they'd been bbq'd. This was by far, the best breakfast we've had since moving to England in August. All of us had a different dish, and each was incredibly delicious. It is a small restaurant, so be sure to book a reservation. I've been coming here for breakfast for years, and the food is consistently great. However the service is more than a bit hit and miss. This morning, I watched the Barista and one female customer chat for a good 30 minutes, showing each other stuff on their phones, during which time, he barely made a beverage and I certainly didn't get the tea I'd ordered. Meanwhile, the other guy and girl serving ran around like blue arsed flies trying to keep up, even making the drinks themselves. It's just all a bit disappointing really for somewhere that was really good. read more
