I went there to transfer a vehicle I was gifted, but it was an out of state vehicle. It took one day to get my car registered,tags and plates. I usually go online myself and do everything, but I didn't want to make a mistake or go back and forth with the DMV during New Years. I took my car in on Dec 30 and got my plates the next day. I could've gotten them the same day, but I went to a smog place that delayed my smog check and getting me cleared. Next time I'll go through their partner Smog place. Mariyu was phenomenal and we will be using this location for every DMV transaction that requires in-person going forward. She is friendly and so fast! I was leaving with paid registration and stickers in 14 minutes. Make sure you bring your license, proof of insurance, etc. If it required by the DMV, no one can waive the requirements. I brought in paperwork to get my boat trailer registered and after 3 months of back and forth I finally asked them for all my paperwork back. I then took sane paperwork to a different place and had registration and plates in 3 days. I asked for a refund and Brittany gave me the run around. They finally agreed to refund most (not all) of my money but not without a bunch of runaround and worst of all, never admitted that they were in the wrong , nor did they offer a simple apology. So much more convenient than going to the DMV I was in and out of this place in 10 minutes with plates and stickers in hand. My vehicle was also registered out of state so they take care of the VIN verification. Around $100 after fees for their services but I like to think my time is valuable and don't mind paying extra so I don't have to spend two hours at the dmv. After reading how they react to negative Yelp reviews, I hope the owners will improve their customer service OR future customers see what a DISAPPOINTMENT of an establishment this is. I came to Tag Shop Fletcher Parkway as a result of trying to replace my stolen license plates and have ended up in a huge MESS. Tag Shop is usually a more convenient way to get things done, however after my experiences I DO NOT RECOMMEND COMING TO THESE LOCATIONS. Due to Terry's error, I was charged for tags when I asked for license plates. Not only have I been inconvenienced of my time, after multiple failed attempts to get a hold of the owner, Tommy, but I have also been burdened with being charged $67.50 twice. Now realizing that this is a small family-run business (husband and wife), I would have thought that customer service/satisfaction would have been a top priority. I was very mistaken. What is more upsetting is after calling 6 times and emailing twice, I was informed that Tommy was made aware of my attempts to reach him and DID SEE MY EMAIL, however DID NOT contact me. Since Tommy comes to the office infrequently, I have attempted to contact his wife, Brittany, to help resolve my situation. I still have yet to be contacted after 4 days. I have been very patient and was more than willing to discuss this matter just between the owner and I. Not sure why the owners wait until there's a bad review left on Yelp to *attempt* to fix their mistakes. read more

We have a trailer that was registered in Arizona and we couldn't get it registered here in CA. I called in and talked with Terry and she explained how we could get it done. We basically had to put up a bond in Arizona so they could clear title before issuing the new registration/pink slip. Went in and did the initial paperwork and it took over a month for Arizona to clear everything, but it got done. I don't think I will ever go to the DMV again. This place is absolutely amazing. I have made several visits to the Tag Stop and will continue to utilize them for all of my vehicle registration needs. My most recent trip was for a vehicle that had been sitting for nearly a year and the registration had expired. I was able to pay the registration and fines and was even able to pre-pay for a smog inspection at the Tag Stop's La Mesa location. Have an out of state registration you need to convert? They can take care of that too. I recently transferred a vehicle from Nevada to California and was in and out with new California plates in a matter of minutes. The small fees Tag Stop charges are well worth NOT having to stand in line at the DMV. Highly recommended and strongly suggested. You may never have to set foot inside a DMV again. read more

And then trying to contact Nevada DMV for a title replacement I was stationed out in Nevada and got stationed again in SD and trying to get a duplicate title was such a pain. But coming here me and my wife tried 2 different ways and came here and they were able to reorder the title and registration literally within a day I got a call back saying everything was good to go. If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. I came into this location for a transfer and renewal. I have used them before and THOUGHT they were more than helpful and professional. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances with the vehicle I purchased, smog took longer to be turned in to complete my application. During that time, the title to my vehicle was lost by this establishment. Instead of attempting to rectify the situation, they deflected blame and attempted to charge me $75 to do a "reconstruction". I called the DMV and will be getting everything handled for $21. I paid them to do a service. The service was not rendered. I will definitely be elevating this as high as I possibly can because this is WRONG. read more

Stay away. I went here to do a title transfer and get new tags. They first to me the new tags couldn't be done without a transfer (fair enough) - I got all the paperwork in line and they charged me another 90 bucks after telling me they would refund me for the tags since I never got them. Britney never follows up and blames being at a new location on her incompetence. I told her I was called about a refund for the tag portion and she refused to budge. She basically told me to do the transfer , and she she would work on getting the tags too since I already paid for it. Okay this sounds promising. After a month of going back and fourth, getting things signed, getting shit done I called her today and she said the title and tags were going to be sent to the previous owner. I DIDNT PAY SO THE PREVIOUS OWNER COULD KEEP THE TITLE AND TAGS. The dmv sucks but it's a lot cheaper and over all less time consuming to go there. Update: I came for my refund and the poor women Sherri whose helped me with everything called her boss to confirm the refund. He has seen my yelp review and asked to speak with me. He straight up told me he won't refund me unless I remove the yelp review. I told him I was entitled to post my experience. He hung up on me after telling me I wasn't getting anything back.
