Edited: Molly left me a very kind voicemail apologizing and stating she hadn't noticed the bad grooming because he was in his carrier. I appreciate the apology. the first time here I was very happy with everything. My cat seemed a little stressed but cool about it when I picked him up. I was like ok awesome!! Felt I could trust them, perfect. I called this morning asking for an appointment and they called back saying they're booked this week but had a cancellation today. Great! HOWEVER, this time I cannot understand WTF happened. When I called, Molly said she could give me no explanation and that Dimpy must've just been "off" today. First of all she said she opened the carrier and my cat, Dimpy had pooped IN it. In 7 years of traveling with him cross country, multiple cars, airplanes, TSA lines, he travels up to LA with me in the car every other week... etc he's NEVER done that. She suggested it happened on the way there even though I live literally 4 blocks away. I was like huh? I would've noticed!!! But I get it ya know he's a cat they can have issues I'm assuming it happened when I first left or something. I apologize about my cat having an off day... THEN I get home and I was SHOCKED. He had feces still on his stomach and he is SHAVED down on his entire butt region. like what possessed them to shave him this way is beyond me. Last time they trimmed and he was clean and amazing but this time it's actually appalling. Also, if he had pooped and they thought something was wrong, why didn't they call me!?!? Molly also told me that next time to call in advance and they'll have scheduled later in the day... like what?! I could've brought him next week even lol no one said the groom was urgent! Also, If he seemed too stressed that there are too many dogs, why didn't they just wait for there to be less dogs and just give me a call? He's a CAT! like I wasn't in a rush!!! When I called Molly, there was at first no apology just defensive, "there's nothing I can do about the hair that's not there anymore" and "we can re-bathe him if you want" like what?? My cat is hissing at me now while I try to clean feces off of his tummy - I'm not gonna take him back - why didn't they notice he wasn't clean when they put him in his carrier? their job is to send him back to me CLEAN for $90 CASH! Needless to say they've lost my business. Filling their schedule seemed to be the most important thing for them and not the wellbeing or my cat. IF you take your cat here make sure it's wayy in the afternoon because any other time is just too crazy and Molly should've made sure of that for me! I would feel better if I felt they were telling me the truth like a dog got too close or my cat freaked out bc of barking or SOMETHING to explain this shave and why he's so shaken up! honesty goes a long way and this review would not be happening if I had some type of understanding of what happened. honestly though, since when does "a little butt trim" mean SHAVE THE ENTIRE BOTTOM OF MY CAT? I would honestly would be laughing at this shave and how ridiculous it looks if my cat wasn't so traumatized! The care and extra time they spent one on one with her was just incredible. They helped her stand, calmed her, and carried her to my car when she was barely able to walk. Parking is available but difficult to navigate your car in and out of the tight courtyard where the parking spaces are located. I've taken my dog twice to be hand stripped. Each time I've been happy with Yoda's disposition when I pick her up, the grooming and the customer service. I have a list of special instructions (no anal gland expression, only wash with product I provide, etc...), and they have accepted that list with a smile and I haven't had any issues with them not following it. Molly and her staff are the best! They sincerely love dogs and treat them beautifully. They do an EXCELLENT job at grooming and "puppy cutting" my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (and I am picky). Their prices are beyond reasonable and I recommend them to all my friends. Everyone I've sent there has been just as happy as I've been. I've taken Murphy there for nearly 8 years now and there was a time I tried another groomer (because of distance), and Murphy was MISERABLE when I picked him up. Nice groomer, but I just hate cages. I called same day to get just a quick wash on a very short haired dog. Showed up, and was told to come back an hour later. Dog smelled great but ears weren't perfectly cleaned. The dogs get put in cages and then the dryer does the work. I am very spoiled to usually have a groomer that does not have a single cage and hand drys the dogs. When the dogs are done they all play together. I think the above is unusual, but it is what I prefer. Still, I would come here but just wouldn't leave my dog for long. read more

By far the best groomer in orange county. I did not know that they only except cash or check and they were kind enough to tell me to come back and pay at my leisure. I've had problems in the past with groomers accidentally cutting my dogs feet because she only weighs 4 pounds. She also shakes from being nervous , She's very small and it takes a lot of attention to detail. She was tired from getting off of a flight when I brought her in but when I picked her up she seemed very happy. The groomer I dealt with was incredibly awesome... He was so kind and I appreciate good people. His love for dogs was apparent as he gushed over her cute little face. In the past I've paid the extra for a mobile groomer to ensure quality of care. I'm confused...why is it that there are so many dogs in Dana Point, Laguna getting good haircuts at this joint.?..I brought my 5 month old labradoodle in today and they totally botched it! I brought him in about a week and a half ago for a meet and greet...they cut around his eyes, his head, his ears, and muzzle. They kind of messed up on top but not too bad...Anyway today I explained to Garrett exactly what I wanted...I told him explicitly, do not cut the top of his head, ears, and only a bit around his eye (one eye had a lock of hair that needed cutting). After an hour I received a phone call from Molly saying that there seems to be a problem...she asked what kind of dog I had...I thought that was very weird..she also said that his muzzle was uneven and should they even it out..I said ..well I was in about a week and a half ago so I imagine that whoever cut his hair must have cut it uneven...well yes even it out and make sure you don't cut the top of his head and ears...she basically hung up on me...and didn't listen to a thing I said...I picked him up and to my horror the top of his head was almost bald...his body was so uneven, huge dents in his fur, and his ears were awful..I don't know who cut his hair, an apprentice? but they did a very amateur job and not very professional. I came home, tried to even it out a bit...it will just have to grow out. Very disappointed...after calling to find out why they didn't listen I heard Molly in the background saying they didn't cut the top...that was a blatant lie. Very disappointed...never going back!!!! read more

I had a beautiful experience with the genuinely good people at Tail Wagger. Even on the day of Christmas Eve, they made time for me to bring my cat in to have her nails trimmed and have nail caps put on her front paws. Being my first time, I made the mistake of not bringing nail caps with me for the groomers to put on my cat. They kindly explained to me that they don't sell retail, they only do grooming, and so they don't have nail caps available. This was my mistake, but still they apologized for the confusion and trimmed my cat's nails for free! I appreciated that so much. These are the people you want grooming your pets.
