    Jerk chicken bowl
    Lynn K.

Back again as we passed through on our way back from the beach in NC. Once again, adorable establishment and super-friendly counter person. I had the jerk chicken this time and my husband had the sushi bowl again since he liked it so much last time. Outstanding!

Fun little ice cream spot in Fayetteville. A nice stop after dinner. Hersheys ice cream flavors.

Amazing fresh food and nice hospitality, a small little cute restaurant near New River George park. We ordered a veggie bowl with tofu and shrimp rice bowl. Both are so good and the ingredients are so fresh. They made sure to check how we are doing and how we liked food. And the icecream is really yummy as well.

Finally! A place that serves delicious, healthy food in WV! Who knew? We thought it was just ice cream. But their bowls are amazing! You can get them with a protein, rice, salad, or a combo. It also comes with chips. Definitely give them a try!

I can't tell you how surprised I was to find this amazing place and a small town like Fayetteville. Everybody in the reviews raved about the sushi bowl, so I couldn't resist and order it. It did stand up to my expectations. It was filling, delicious and fresh. The service was top-notch as well. The added bonus is that this place has a variety of ice cream available. Whether you come here for a meal or ice cream, you'd enjoy the variety of both vegan and vegetarian items, a good service and delicious food. If I am back in the area, I would absolutely go back!

The name is simplistic-and not even accurate given that I was able to dine on site on a plate rather than a takeout container-but this was an interesting place. They do customizable bowls of salads or rice (or you can get a sandwich). They're not exclusively vegetarian, but it's quite good with tofu or tempeh (or neither at a lesser price), with a variety of preset topping options. They also offered something that sounded like a hot dog bun with a carrot in it, which I would have tried out of curiosity if my stomach were bigger. My bowl delivered a worthy portion of tempeh, and a nice jerk flavor with plenty of variety in each bite. It was likely better than anything else I could have found in the area. I do note that their hours are quite limited. It always baffles me when places in vacation areas are not open on Sundays. It's a quiet town I guess. But if you have health in mind or particular dietary needs, I would suggest getting in here before they close.

Happy to add to the well-deserved five star reviews! We've been traveling in parts of WV where there are not a lot of quality food choices so this place beckoned us and we were not disappointed. We were given a full explanation of the menu by the delightful young woman (can't believe we forgot to ask her name!) and she recommended her favorites. I chose the Pacific rice bowl with tempeh as my choice of protein; hubby chose the Mojo bowl with braised beef as his protein. Menu items can be made as rice bowls, salads, sandwiches, or pitas. Protein choices are braised beef, carnitas, chicken, shrimp, tofu, or tempeh. We both loved our bowls and they were very filling! Limited indoor seating (about a half dozen tables) and some outdoor seating but, of course, you can get "take out". Everything is customizable so you can take out ingredients you don't want and add others. We heard about the cookie guy but sadly, he was out of town so no cookies for us and it was a bit chilly for ice cream. Wonderful service, delicious food, and a cozy atmosphere to enjoy our meal. Great choice for a carnivore and vegetarian to both be happy!

Delicious healthy flavorful food! Lots of options and ways to personalize it. I had the sushi bowl with just crab since I'm not wild about raw fish. The seasonings were perfect balance of flavor. Friendly staff, fast service. Room is colorful and artsy.

Sushi bowl with lettuce instead of rice and steppe noddles.

Yes it looks like an ice cream shop. But, they also have great food here. It definitely had me wishing we came here before. Not on our last day.

This place was AMAZING! The owners were so kind. Truly a family business with the parents and kids all working together. That would have been worth 5 stars alone but the food...10 stars! Ask them their favorite and go with whatever they recommend. We'll be back!

The business offers both inside and outside seating, along with bar seating. Upon entering, we met the hostess who seated us at a table comprised of a bench and chairs near the window. The business is adorned with signs that say Rome was not built in a day but it was worth it warning that getting your food may take a few. They are not kidding. It took us over 10 minutes to meet our server and when we did, we ordered and then wait for food to come. In that time drinks ran dry and we rarely saw our server. We started with the feta and honey fried brussel sprouts app for the table. I opted for the Truman (turkey, blue cheese and peach jam), my wife got Korean barbecue wings and fries, my daughter got a kids meal cheeseburger with fries, while my oldest son got a steak sandwich and my youngest son got a chicken sandwich. My wife and a really enjoyed the brussel sprout app which my kids refused to touch. My sandwich was good but a little small and their house made chips are really good but my server never delivered the French onion dip I ordered. My wife was not impressed with her wings but my kids enjoyed their sandwiches. Their house made pickles are really good but we asked for some on the side and never got those either. The only thing that was fast about my experience was the server cashing out my check. It's a good meal but maybe sit at the bar. They seemed to get better service.

We drove in at around 7pm and perused their small and simple menu. Server checked in on us twice and with 5 of us, we did take some extra time in deciding. Once we finally decided, that was when the server announced that all chicken and brisket were out. At a BBQ place, being out of brisket is blasphemous, even if you had an event earlier. But also, super disappointed in the server for not telling us initially when handing us our menus! She could've saved us 15min! After we put in our edited orders, every 6 min or so, someone would come out from the kitchen to tell us that collared greens were also out and yet another item. We probably had to wait 45min for our first entree to come out and it was wrong. I had ordered a turkey club sandwich but was served 2 pieces of smoke turkey. My mom's order of pulled pork didn't come out until almost an hour and they got her sides wrong. My mom was also the hungriest out of all of us and I felt so bad. My daughter's kid's meal had the go-gurt out but no replacement offered. The staff was nice but they got the majority of our sides and entrees wrong with the added enormity of the wait. But let's get to the food itself--quality is very good! The pulled pork was the best I've ever tried. Every other pulled pork dish seemed so processed and smushy and drenched in sauce. Their ribs only seemed okay though; my dad found them a bit dry and too blackened but not enough meat on them. Their fries were double fried or something so they were so crunchy and seasoned and delicious. My parents didn't like their coleslaw but I thought their potato salad was not bad. Their side salad minus the cheese was simple but pretty good and refreshing! Love the seasoning! The experience was not great and I would not recommend this place but at least the food and portions were not a disappointment. No one else mentioned this but they also have bible verses everywhere as well as in the sign! Probably to be expected for being in West Virginia but an instant ick factor for me personally. For all the outages, long wait times and getting our orders wrong, this place did not offer any kind of discount so to me, that's pretty unChristian-like... The dessert counter looked great but there were no labels or price tags.

The Magnolia House on Park is a hidden gem nestled by the river at the end of the street. The covered screened-in porch is set for multi-season use, with ceiling fans and multiple fireplaces. We were promptly greeted and chose a corner table (which was custom-built from 100-year old barn wood). The menu changes daily along with a selection of entree salads. We decided to dine "family style" and chose chicken and dumplings and meatloaf. Our sides included a house salad (I had the house-made orange zest dressing; my companion chose Thousand Island), green beans, mashed potatoes, and corn. These were served with rolls that literally melted in your mouth. Before the main course was served, we enjoyed some of the best fried green tomatoes we've ever eaten. The portions are generous, and they gladly boxed up our leftovers--and I look forward to having those tomorrow. Though we were thoroughly satisfied, we were unable to pass on dessert--all homemade. I had the lemon berry mascarpone cake, which was served with a side of fresh whipped cream. My friend had the pumpkin pie--which was the perfect taste of fall. We both had Magnolia Iced tea --garnished with lemon, orange, and a sprig of organic mint. Bottomless refills are available, and our attentive server kept our glasses filled. We had the distinct pleasure of meeting the proprietor/cook, her daughter (our server) and her mother. Magnolia House on Park is a labor of love--something that shines through in every bite.
