I've been going to The Tanning Spot/Cryowellness for over a two years now and I really enjoyed the services they offer. From tanning booths, spray tanning, saunas, red light therapy to cryotherapy they offer a lot of diversity in choices as well as pricing structures (from day to weekly to monthly). The staff is always knowledgeable and friendly (shout out to Sergio, Daisy and Ali) and the facilities always clean and sanitized. This place is ridiculous to ask customers to tip when the machines did all the work and you just sat on the stool the whole time , even more ridiculous for the business owner to come onto Yelp and instead of taking criticism, she would rather much embarrass herself and fight with clients. And who cares if she's a "college girl" or not, pay her more if that's the case ! ALL YOU DID was sit on a stool. Oh, and change your fine print on Groupon, it does NOT say for first time buyers, how embarrassing that your employee had to show me through Microsoft WORD that was just barely typed out. I have noticed drastic, positive changes in my overall health and wellbeing since joining The Tanning spot. I do not tan, however I can testify that the poly redlight has reduced wrinkles and signs of aging...I am actually saving money due to needing less aesthetic treatments from the collagen buildup! My weight and bloating have gone down after three months of compression therapy and infrared sauna use. My energy level has also drastically gone up, and I was able to stop drinking coffee after two months. The staff is attentive, friendly, and work hard. To start with, parking is excellent. First time guest and Sergio was amazing. Took me on a tour and explained all the different services they have. I purchase a Groupon for cryotherapy but decided to purchase and try their red light sauna system as well. Place is very clean and they provide everything you need. Spent 30 minutes in the sauna and from there I did the cryotherapy. According to my Apple Watch I burnt about 700 calories and I loved both sessions. Cryo was at a negative 119 F. Have had a membership for almost 2 years. Friendliest and knowledgeable staff by far. This is not just tanning. Go for the top membership if you plan to use all of the services offered. Well worth the money if you're going to use them all. The best is to do multiple services in one visit and you feel like you just hit the spa! Really had a bad taste in my mouth when I left here recently. First time in here for a quick spray tan before my vacation. The facilities were fine, nothing super fancy. It did the job. The girl showed me how to use the machine... It was as I was leaving, the guy at the front desk asked me if I wanted to leave a tip for the girl who showed me how to push the buttons on the machine, while she was standing there. It was so tacky and put me on the spot. Not cheap by any means, and this felt schlocky. Tipping should be for excellent above and beyond service and never put the customer on the spot. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Living in excruciating pain in all my joints for over 30 years. SUPER clean, best beds around and can get a year round spray tan with unlimited sprays for a monthly membership which has different levels that include red light, blue light therapy, versa spa, regular lay down tropical style beds, stand up beds, sauna and Cryogenic tank!! I came to this place for just a tanning salon but it's actually so much more. There's so many different services they offer. My favorite is the sauna and cryo. I cannot say enough good things about the Tanning Spot! First of all, the location is amazing; overlooking the Hermosa pier skyline, convenient private parking lot right behind the facility. The studio itself is like a Willy Wonka factory of health & beauty therapies: clean and gorgeous, with state of the art equipment. Sergio and his amazing staff are so kind, helpful, and knowledgeable about the wide range of treatments, beds and therapies available here. It's so refreshing to find a business owner who truly cares about helping his clients and isn't just trying to gauge you like a lot of similar places! Whenever I come limping in with an injury or issue, he assesses what's going on and comes up with a customized therapy plan for that day that always blows my mind with the efficacy. As an athlete who deals with muscle spasms among other ailments, I recommend starting with the red light therapy bed, followed by the infrared sauna, followed by cryo therapy. This combination has not only helped me work out muscle spasms, injuries, and fascia adhesions, but also sped healing from a horrible reaction to a bee sting (I am severely allergic) and severe rosacea flare-ups (the awful swelling kind, not the cute rosy cheek kind) I always leave feeling like a new person. Terrible experience. This was my first time here. Went in for a tan and infrared sauna. The manager male in charge was especially short and rude with me. First he assigned me to an infrared room towards the back that was in a peaceful environment .... When I was ready to go in room, he suddenly changed his mind and put me in the infrared room close to the entrance that was brightly uncomfortably lit and where room was not even at the correct heat temperature: it took 15 min for room to heat up. The first room he showed me was what I wanted, dimly lit and room was at the right heat temperature. Maybe he tricked me into thinking that would be the room I would be staying in so that I agreed to pay. It was a nightmare. Such Poor service. read more

Absolutely love this place! I signed up a couple months ago mainly to use the sauna and cryotherapy for after workout recovery. The combination of the two really helps especially if your muscles are sore. I've used the red light therapy as well as the hybrid tanning booth. Both were great. I really should have followed the bad reviews and stayed away. I was strong armed into buying a spray tan package (they do not let you just tan, you have to listen a sales pitch which is annoying). I was in for my second time and they said I never bought a package. I could pay for another if I wanted to tan! It was expensive and had to go through all my bank records and there records right there in front of everyone. They finally found they had credited my money to another customer. The whole experience was very embarrassing and insulting. They were looking at me like I was lying and annoyed I holding up the line, when they were completely wrong. I came in for my last tan and no color came out at all. My calls and messages went unanswered. I think these sales tactics are unscrupulous and really wrong. I have never been treated so badly and unprofessionally by a business. read more

Life has been better since I got a membership with The Tanning Spot! I have a membership package that enables me to mix and match any 4 tanning or spa services every month. I love the flexibility of this package to do different treatments as I like throughout the different seasons! There's so much more than tanning at The Tanning Spot. I'm addicted to the collagen boosting red light booths! I was skeptical, but I credit those treatments to eliminating age spots on my forearms, hands, and face as well as tightening my skin all over! I recently broke my distal tibia and the Poly-Rejuv medical grade red light treatments *I swear* helped my incisions heal faster and reduced the swelling and pain in my foot and ankle! I love a sesh in the sauna "pod" where I sweat out about 600 or so calories, then hit the cryo booth to cool down and boost my immune system! The Tanning Spot is clean and the people are great! Sergio is my guy! He's super knowledgeable and actually uses all of the services on a regular basis so he knows what's he's talking about! I use to love coming here for a spray tan. There was an employee that would do a spray tan by hand and it would come out flawless. Now the spray tan is done by a machine and it leaves it very unevenly. Can't compare someone taking their time to perfect the color and coverage. Driving 45 minutes because this was my favorite tanning business. I will no longer be returning. read more

Absolutely incredible place with a lot of modalities under one roof. I am a physical therapist, and my daughter injured her calf during a soccer game.
