They have sushi, some anime toys, a bunch of other Japanese food, and random goods that I know my youngest niece would be obsessed with. When I went to check in, I noticed that I couldn't find it... At some point they changed their name. They're called Harumi now, but I'm not sure how recent that is. It appears they've always been a Japanese market, though. I don't recall the last time I went to a Japanese market outside of Montgomery County, MD... And these prices seem so much better honestly. It makes me wish I had markets like this closer to home. The sushi and sesame mochi I got were fantastic. And my niece loved the chopsticks I got her.

I've been visiting this market since they first opened. Back then, it was modest, but over the past few months it's grown into what I'd now consider a must-visit spot. The market has clearly gained traction, and for good reason. One of the coolest details is behind the counter--there are some amazing anime figure displays, which I believe are also for sale (and yes, I want one myself ). The onigiri and sushi that everyone comes in for are made fresh daily, which really sets this place apart. Overall, it's an average-sized market with a solid selection of snacks, a good amount of groceries you'd typically find in any Japanese-style market, and a small but nice selection of Taiwanese and Japanese beers. What I appreciate most is that the market doesn't over-advertise like some others do. The layout makes it easy to focus on what you need and want without feeling overwhelmed by marketing. I stopped by again yesterday--mainly for the onigiri, which I regularly travel from LIC for. Yes, there are other markets that sell onigiri, but many are cold and not made fresh daily. That distinction matters. With all that said, I'm giving this review 4.8 stars, only because I'd love to see a wider selection of Korean beers. Add that, and it's an easy 5 stars--though honestly, it already feels like one.

I first seen Heatonist from watching Hot Ones show with Sean Evens he is a wonderful host ! The show is celebrities coming in and trying 10 hot sauces, and Sean will ask them questions in between. The sauces get spicier as the go . After I seen the show I ordered that season the exact line up and I hosted a Hot Ones challenge at my home with waivers and everything . I was the host and I asked questions it was an amazing time .. after that I started ordering different hot sauces I got my favorite sauces I have to always stay stocked with and I order new ones to try out . Online I get points the more I buy I get more discounts they also offer a birthday discount on the month of your birthday super cool ! I recommend signing up for the points online so worth it . I get my packages delivered fast and all my hot sauce bottles are packaged very careful and neatly for safe delivery. They all come with cute stickers . Some of my favorite hot sauces that I can't be with out are Truffle Fire Hot Sauce from Seed Ranch Flavor , AJI PEPA HOT sauce by Savir foods and Dill Pickle Serrano Hot Sauce from Heartbeat Hot Sauce . I keep ordering these 3 hot sauces but I will try new ones on every order . I highly recommend checking this website out if you love hot sauces you will love it . Our server Sam was really knowledgeable and gave us a lot of recommendations. We ended up going with all of his favorites which were the sugar snap peas, the bigeye tuna and gnocco fritto, white asparagus and soked sablefish, the soft-boiled egg and blue crab and finally the steelhead trout. Sam was wonderful to also suggest us really delicious, salty, fresh and wild white wines to pair with our dishes. Everything we had were perfectly cooked with bold flavors. I could definitely taste the care and detail put into every dish. For the smoked sablefish dish, the sauce was so delicious, we asked for some toasted in-house sourdough to soak it up. The pavolva dessert at the end with the surprise paired wine was the perfect ending. I can see why this restaurant is well loved and feel very lucky and grateful that we could have an opportunity to dine here. Thank you so much Sam and team for a wonderful time! This is my most favorite restaurant in NYC!

The atmosphere was super intimate and cozy, and the service was paced really well throughout the night. Some of the dishes definitely could've had a little more flavor or seasoning, especially compared to how hyped up the restaurant is, but there were still a few standout plates that made the meal memorable. My favorites were the clams, the tuna, and the rice dish, all three were so simple but done really well. The tuna especially tasted incredibly fresh and balanced, and the clams had such a light, clean flavor that worked perfectly with the wine. You can tell this is one of those places focused on quality ingredients and a more understated approach to food rather than overly heavy flavors. Overall, really glad we went and it's definitely worth trying at least once, especially if you love sharing plates and trying a bunch of different dishes throughout the night.
