    Fettuccine Alfredo with Mushrooms
    Joanna M.

Standard fast casual pasta place serving all your classic sauces and pasta shapes. Great for on the go or if you want a casual place to sit in. Service is quick and friendly and pasta is served in cardboard containers along with disposable utensils. The portions are fine but the prices are high for what you get. Not surprising since Peonia is located right on Bedford. The Fettuccine Alfredo with mushrooms that my friend and I shared came out to around 16 dollars which is cheaper than what most Italian establishments will charge you. What they lack in formal restaurant service, they make up for with creamy and tasty pasta. The fettuccine was al dente and the alfredo sauce is pretty good. Think a step up from Rao's frozen pastas but less satisfying than restaurant style pasta. I'm not saying I'll run over for more pasta anytime soon, but at least Peonia will fulfill a spontaneous pasta craving. A good on-the-go option.

New pasta shop opened right by the Bedford stop. Small but simple menu of build your own pasta bowl -- great if you want to pick up a quick meal. I ordered a fettuccine Alfredo with mushrooms and extra Parmesan cheese, with tip it came out to $17.64. This space is bright, open, and clean, and service was pretty quick. The pasta itself was a little soft by the time I was able to eat it but portion itself is not bad. For their opening week right now they have a buy 1 get one 50% off deal. I'll definitely have to try their other sauces and topping combinations because the fettuccine was pretty bland. Overall I had a pleasant experience and the employees here are nice. Hopefully menu expands or they add specialty/limited time dishes.

All the staff is super nice. I always get the Alfredo and switch up the pasta. Chicken is a hit or miss on how it tastes. I come here at least one a week

It cost me $13.78 for one bag, and it was worth it. The taste was hard to beat! The filling was powerfully tasty. I could taste the Porcini and all the cheeses. Cono provided good service by providing me a sample of some prosciutto. He was also jovial--engaging in small chit chat with me. The only negative thing about my customer experience is that the store sells a limited amount of sauce. I only saw three in the freezer: marinara, vodka, and pesto. Where was the Puttanesca or the Arrabbiata that I was expecting from a Brooklyn Italian grocery store? Also, the store interior needs some updating to compete with other five borough Italian grocery stores.

This is pretty much the only shop I will go for the extra purpose of purchasing fresh pasta (sometimes I'll pick up some at Russo's in the East Village if I'm there to buy fresh mozzarella, but it's more of an afterthought). The owner has mentioned to me that the sacchettoni is one of the more laborious varieties to make and so they don't always have it on offer. If you happen to see this gem on the shelves, make sure you seize the opportunity.
