This is my second Yelp review for Hassayampa Inn. Again, I wanted to give a shout out to the Hassayampa Inn staff for going above and beyond for excellent customer service. After I returned home from another wonderful overnight stay at the Hassayampa last week, I discovered I left hanging clothes in our room's closet. I called the Inn and the young lady took my call (I'm sorry I can't recall her name) told me she would contact housekeeping and get back with me that day. 2 hours later I received the call back and was informed my clothes were there. This is when they went that extra step. She confirmed with me that my address on file was correct. Then she let me know they will be mailing my clothing to me, and at no charge!!!! Y'all, this is what excellent customer service and attention to detail is all about. If you are planning a trip to Prescott, please consider staying at the Hassayampa Inn. The accommodations are uniquely Southwestern in style and comfort. Well-appointed rooms, with great dining restaurant, a cozy, fun bar/lounge with wonderful music every evening. The Inn is within walking distance to Whiskey Row, the Courthouse, and lots of shops and restaurants. Staying there at Christmas is festive and magical too. Had a an overnight stay here and location was great close to many nearby spots. Checkin was frustrating as I arrived a little after 1130am (understandably early) but even by 1pm they said my room wasn't ready. I've had many hotels allow for early check in if the rooms are available or for a small fee. So this policy felt inflexible. The room was very small but fine. The bathroom is tiny as well. The bed was not comfortable and quite noisy when moving. Staff didn't feel particularly friendly to me. Overall a quaint town but if i did return I would probably not choose this hotel. read more

If you have any physical disabilities, this isn't your hotel. First note: there are very few parking spaces reserved for disabled customers, and the only one available when we arrived was on the other side of a busy street away from the hotel. Moving suitcases across a street with vehicles driving much too fast was harrowing: there's no crosswalk available unless you want to climb the hill to cross the street at the traffic light, a difficult task considering that I've recently had both a total knee replacement and total shoulder replacement surgeries in the recent past. The little turnout (closest to the front desk) for people arriving at the hotel had a couple,of service vehicles parked there where they sat for quite some time, and the lack of handicap parking slots (there are only two on the street-side where the hotel is located), making it necessary to park across the street in a parking lot reserved for hotel guest vehicles. Attended a meeting over dinner and the food was terrible. What was served as salad appeared to be rotting, maybe a couple of tablespoons of lettuce? Food was tasteless and overly expensive. The service was good, but the dining area was crowded and it was difficult to hear each other. The coffee was uninspiring. We reserved a room as we knew it would be much too later to attempt a drive home. Our room's bathroom was filthy, and the room itself smelled like cigarettes and marijuana. We ignorantly had asked for a non-smoking room and were advised that theirs was a non-smoking facility, but this room got by the housekeeping staff... and smelled very bad. There were no rooms that we could move to. To be fair, the people at the front desk were very nice -- and accommodating -- but there wasn't much that could be done for us. Our choices were to keep the room or drive home... a refund was out of the question. The elevator to the rooms is located on a platform above the level of the front desk, accessible only through climbing steep stairs, and while our suitcases and other bags were lifted to the elevator platform level by a hotel employee when we checked in, upon leaving the next morning, I nearly fell trying to carry a single bag -- a suitcase -- down the stairs. There's no wheelchair ramp that would have made it much easier to roll the bags down to the level of the front desk, so I guess that ADA compliance isn't a priority here. I believe this is dangerous... and could easily result badly for older guests and anyone disabled. It's too bad that hotel management has chosen to turn a blind eye to the needs of disabled customers, as this hotel could be a masterpiece for Prescott visitors. As for the room that smelled of cigarettes and pot, it's a shame that selfish people have such little regard for others. I don't think we'll be returning. read more

The reasons for giving a 3 star instead of a 5 are as follows: No refrigerator in the room Room, bed and bathroom extremely small, could barely walk around the bed No breakfast with the room For what we paid, $250 a night, we felt way overpriced for what you get. Breakfast in the restaurant was below par at best The 3 stars, which I wish I could give a 5+ for just this: all the staff were professional, friendly and helpful. What a wonderful way to keep history alive! The staff is professional and very kind. We stayed in one of the king suites on the top floor. The bed was comfortable and the ac was clean as well as very comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant as well and everything was so tasty. The only picture I remembered to take was of the dessert which was strawberry cheesecake flavor! It was incredible. I was also shocked at how inexpensive the rooms were. On a side note, I did read that the hotel is haunted. We didn't have any experiences of the supernatural kind just wonderful history and kind people! read more

Beautiful historic Inn if you're staying in Prescott. We loved having dinner here in their courtyard with live music. The band played songs from Johhny Cash, to Stray Cats. We found seating on a Monday night around 6. Nice service too. We had the egg rolls, salsa and chips, grilled goat cheese on greens, and the green chile chorizo quesadilla. read more

Our experience at this Inn was fantastic!! From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out we enjoyed our stay. The staff greeted us warmly, confirmed our reservations, explained some of the history of the Inn, and told us of the parking lot for guests. The lobby had such a welcoming vintage feel, our room was clean and comfortable, and riding in the elevator was like stepping back in time. Breakfast in the Peacock room was delicious, generous in the food, and priced reasonably. We will definitely be back!! read more

This might not be the best time to add a review because I was there for a presentation that included a free meal. I opted for the prime rib that included mashed potatoes and veggies. The meal started with a salad, which was excellent and was served along with a small loaf of steaming sourdough bread. The salad and bread alone earned The Hassayampa Inn the four stars! Unfortunately, the main course wasn't served until the end of the presentation which lasted close to three hours! Trust me, I was so hungry by the time my prime rib was served that I just ate it so fast and swore I would taste it later... No pictures, but I will return for a true sit-down and enjoy dinner and will update my review then. read more

We just got back from a week's stay at this beautiful, historic hotel, and once again, it was an excellent experience! Our room was spotless, breakfast at the Peacock Room was delicious as always, coffee and scones at the Territorial cafe was great, and drinks/apps and entertainment at the Glass Bar was enjoyable. Our server at the Glass Bar (I'm sorry, I forgot his name), was excellent. Relaxing and unwinding at the peaceful courtyard while listening to the swing music has become a favorite pastime. Many thanks to Karen, Monica, Dylan, Jadelynn, Tara and Michael for your kind and friendly service. We have made many wonderful memories at the Hassayampa for several years, even way before I started posting reviews, and we look forward to making many more awesome memories on our future visits. My date and I were headed to an Italian restaurant. What stopped us on our tracks was the sweet allure of jazz. We were charmed by this historic inn with a bar and grille and seated ourselves at a table for two. Their happy hour is everyday from 4-6 pm. I had a glass of house Chardonnay and my date had a draft IPA. Both were tasty. The egg rolls was crispy with a sweet chili sauce. The piece de resistance was their chorizo fries with hatch chili smothered with mozzarella. We had to have a second order! We had to wait in the lobby for 45 minutes. After finally being seated we waited another 30 minutes before our waiter showed up to take our orders. 2:30pm rolled around and still no food after 2 hours of waiting patiently. Waiter kept stringing us along with lies about our food being almost ready. We gave up and left on empty stomachs. Truly atrocious service! read more

Friends recommended this location to us. It is very nice and comfortable. It is a beautiful historic hotel. Our only issue was not understanding how their maid service works. If your "do not disturb" sign is out in the morning, the maid service notifies the front desk and they don't service your room. We found out about this on the first day and figured out how to make certain our room received service. This is an old inn and has an elevator that has to be operated by the staff. We mostly used the stairs. The staff is great and very attentive. We really enjoyed our stay, but I think they need to explain how the maid service works when you check in. That way, there won't be any surprises. I would recommend this place. read more

Hassayampa inn was one of our most memorable stays, anywhere! the hotel has that old school hollywood charm and the moment you walk in the staff are extremely welcoming. The old elevator was such a fun detail. The food from the restaurants was phenomenal, best biscuits and gravy!!! The rooms were the perfect size and very comfortable king bed, clean linens, chocolate mint on the pillows, and clean place. So close to downtown, and lots of parking. We went with friends for dinner because it was recommended by a local. Out of the eight of us four ordered the prime rib. Big mistake. Our meal came out and I thought to myself this isn't prime rib. No fat cap, no flavor, no nothing. It was very tough and chewy and was browned on both sides. This medium rare prime rib ( It was medium well) didn't come from a roast. The Au jus was just bland beef bullion. I don't usually complain but when our waitress came back and asked how everything was I had to say something. My wife and a friend also received the same kind of tasteless meat. Our waitress offered us replacements ( she was great by the way) but everyone was done eating by then so we declined. She did take our meals off the bill which was great but we never asked her to do it. read more

I stayed here for a conference being held here. I enjoyed the vintage hotel. The Wi-Fi wasn't the greatest for people whose rooms weren't as close to the router but worked okay for me. The staff were friendly and the room was clean and all I needed. Tip: look out for the ghosts. read more

Good enough place to sleep. I was not thrilled that when I asked for my check in at 3 that I was turned away...."the room wasn't ready yet". My 88 year old mother needed a bed to rest on but they couldn't allow me in yet. The room didn't seem like it was just cleaned...lots of dust in the furniture. When I didn't check in, I was not granted the same attention as the young blonde who was checking in with the kid that was tearing up the place. She got the special treatment and was told of events in the hotel and Wi-Fi information and had her bags carried. I carried my luggage, a walker and maneuvered my mother around the place. Not once did they ask if they could help with my bags or anything. Some of the staff were attentive when we needed a ride in the elevator...but that is after I insisted to the desk people that she couldn't walk the short flight of stairs. They accommodated her after that and were nice. I will try someplace else next time. There are many cute off the beaten bath places to stay. The historic element doesn't really warrant going there. I did however see a skunk near the building while there....that was a plus! read more

The Hassayampa Inn sits in all her stately red brick glory on the corner of Gurley and Marina streets in beautiful downtown Prescott(Pronounced Press-kit.) It isn't a tall or imposing building. Only about four stories. We like staying on older hotels because they have character. Each of them has their quirks as well. The Hassayampa Inn is no exception. We arrived late in the afternoon of Saturday, December 30, 2023. Walking into the lobby, the first thing you notice is how small it is. The decor is comfortable and simple. Checking-in was easy. We were assigned room 301. The young lady at the front desk told us the room numbers were on the glass panels above the door. There are two ways to get upstairs. You can take the stairs, which are narrow and not exactly conducive to schlepping luggage, or you can take the original staff operated elevator that was installed when the hotel was built in 1927. Once we got to the third floor, the elevator doors were opened and I really felt like we stepped back in time. The walls were a dull yellow. I felt like I was in the Shining and just waiting for the twins to show up. Room 301 has two queen beds. The Mrs. and I were surprised at how spacious the room is. Many older hotels have really small rooms. You have to remember that back when many of them were built air conditioning was non-existent and people generally didn't spend a lot of time in their rooms. The bathroom was pretty big as well. The tiling on the floor and walls was beautiful and there wasn't a single bit of discoloration on the tile or grout. There is a large walk-in closet that was kind of creepy. The view from our room overlooked the hotel patio which sits on the corner of Gurley and Marina. It was nice to be able to open the window and let in the cold Arizona air. For your dining enjoyment, the Hassayampa Inn is the home of the Peacock Dining Room. There is also a bar that offers live music seven nights a week with Happy Hour being from 4 to 6 p.m. daily. And for you morning coffee fix there is the Territorial Cafe. The staff we encountered were very friendly. They were all on the younger side but were very professional. Parking is free. You can park overnight on Gurley street right in front of the hotel or on Marina street. There is also a small parking lot on Marina street. As far as the overall location, you can't beat it. You are well within walking distance from all the shops, restaurants, and bars in downtown Prescott. The Hassayampa Inn is a haunted hotel so if you're sensitive to those kinds of things do your research before you stay there. read more

The music in the bar excellent! Just the ambience of the entire place was pretty impressive. Really a relaxing place to stay. They take care of you. I've been to Hassayampa n and the peacock room many times for dinners and drinks over the years. And try hey a they are one of the top bars in town. Service is always excellent and todays mixologist John I'd imply very good. He made us the Hassayampa vodka lemonade which is fantastic!! Not real sweet with a great lemon flavor and just the right amount of tang. It's not overly priced for a custom cocktail and with the service and great ambiance of this some 80 year old building is fantastic. Well definitely return. No food was ordered because it was late just stopping by for a great drink. read more

Second time staying here. Absolutely love almost everything about this hotel. It could use a little upgrading, but otherwise it's my favorite place to stay in Prescott. The only thing I didn't like is that they have a pet policy that I cannot leave my dog in the room. I understand some chain hotels doing this, but one of the reasons I take him and one of the reasons I stayed at this place is that I can leave him in the room. He is an old dog who is very quiet. They called me letting me know that the dog was barking. When I got back, he was peacefully sleeping under the covers. If you're dog, friendly hotel, then be a dog friendly hotel. He probably barked once or twice as people were passing by or something, but he doesn't go crazy and he's well behaved. I stayed at two different places in Prescott and did not have this problem. The prime rib special is an absolute killer deal-and so delicious. The best French onion soup I've ever had. I love their eggs Benedict for breakfast. We have stayed at the hotel as well, nice accommodations, just keep in mind the rooms are historical and floors creaky, bathrooms vintage. It was a fun experience, to try for a time. read more

HAIR! HAIR! HAIR! HAIR! HAIR! I wrote it five times because that's how many beds contained hair during our visit on 4-18-2025. Usually longer strands, dark, laying on the bedspread, pillows, and sheets. Our story: Upon receiving our initial room, like many travelers, we pulled back the bedspread to check for any unfriendlies and found the aforementioned hairs. We kindly informed the front desk and they quickly gave us another room. No problem - until the second bed contained hairs just like the first. Some strands on the pillow, some on the white sheets. And the bed looked slept-in. We again called the front desk and were given room # 3. Same issue. Except this time, we also found black hairs on the shower floor and tiles, which we showed management. We were told they would remake the bed while we went to dinner. Upon our return, we again found four or five brown and black hairs on the pillows and sheets of the 'remade' bed, each several inches long. Some hairs, however, were shorter and I dare not think about where they originated. This was Bed #4. It was now about 10:00 pm and the night manager was on duty, a shorter man with a beard and glasses. At this point, we were tired, but still playing musical rooms at the Hassayampa. I reluctantly asked the manager for a refund, but he said it wasn't possible. He then said there was another room available which he "had just checked." Moving to that room and with the manager present, we pulled back the bedspread and promptly found more hairs. This was Bed #5. When I again asked for a refund, the manager lost his cool, said he'd "already messed up four rooms" and labeled the current situation "bullshit." He then said he needed to make a call and left. Returning minutes later, he said we could have a refund and "depart the hotel." Escorting us out of the room, he slammed the door behind him, very angrily and loud in the quiet hotel. Meeting him at the front desk with our bags, he slid a refund receipt toward me and said, "here's your refund" and turned away. No apology, nothing. Check the video. We left to find other accommodations at 10:30 pm. The condition of the beds certainly wasn't our fault and we weren't looking for an upgrade and never got angry. All this manager managed to do was raise his blood pressure, blame us for the condition of every bed we encountered, and give us reasons not to return to Hassayampa. I don't know if the beds at Hassayampa aren't changed between guests or their clothes dryers aren't removing the hair along with the lint or maybe it's their detergent, but the result is the same. Keep in mind that we've stayed at Hassayampa many times, but the last two have been less than enjoyable. See pics of our previous visit, where we found stains on the floorboards and a filthy coffee maker. Perhaps this man enjoys sleeping on someone else's hair and DNA and this is an expected condition at Hassayampa, but for what we were paying, it was a bit much to ask. In both quality and treatment, we expected better. Every person's experience is different, of course, and there are certainly many aspects of the Hassayampa that are wonderful, particularly its history, the lobby ambiance, and downtown location. They had a choice of how to treat repeat customers and we have a choice of where to spend our travel money. Unless we develop a future hair fetish, we won't be back. read more

I stayed here overnight for a work trip and was pleased by how well they've preserved/restored this hotel. They even have an old school elevator with an elevator operator. The room was small (as they were back in the days), but comfortable and had everything I needed for an overnight stay. The staff was very friendly and location is great being in downtown Prescott. I can't say if it was a good value of not since an outside company paid for my room. Based on my experience I would stay here again. read more

This place is almost 100 years old so know that going in, which I did. Rooms are small but pictures are accurate. It's priced appropriately IMO. Parking across the street. Walls were pretty thin but the place is pretty low key so quiet hours were respected. That being said I found the place charming. The staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming! Excellent concierge and wait staff! I loved the cocktail bar and live music. Very relaxing lowkey ambience set apart from whisky row that can be a little rowdy. read more

Some positives: Close to everything downtown Prescott. Very friendly and helpful staff, more so than what I've experienced elsewhere in my travels. The shower in our room had plenty of "oomph" compared to most which just trickle out weakly, even at full blast. Some things to be aware of: Parking is either street side or in an off site lot. You can hear the floor creaks from your upstairs travelers, so be prepared for a modest, but not overwhelming amount of noise. The TV has 10,000 channels of zero value, so bring a Roku device, or simply leave the thing off. You're better off watching something on your phone if you really have to. I prefer to stay at older properties and the Hassayampa Inn has charm galore. Hope you will find it as interesting and friendly as I did. read more

Our organization had a dinner fundraiser event this past Saturday, and a huge "shout out" to all of the Hassayampa Inn event/banquet staff! Amore Cianciola, the Director of Catering and Events, was awesome to work with and made sure everything was perfectly set up for us.
