the tea sandwiches and desserts all displayed for a bridal brunch/mimosa bar.

The Tea Cart did an amazing job with the tea sandwiches and desserts that they delivered right to us for a brunch/mimosa bar for one of our brides. Their sandwiches were beautifully designed and put together which was picture perfect. Our bride and her bridesmaids loved everything. The sandwiches and desserts were all delicious. We highly Recommend Landfall Lodge - Winchester, VA

You can bring your own hat for the tea experience, or choose any of the 30+ hats they have for their guests. Pretty much everybody was wearing a hat. I came in a group of 6, and one of us had a strict gluten free diet. Her food came on separate plates and trays, but her food was similar to ours, and only modified slightly. She had the same soup, but no crouton. Her sandwiches came with GF bread or were prepared with an apple or cucumber as the base instead of bread. We all had the Royal Ascot experience. We ordered about 8 different teas, and it was nice that the teas were included in the price, and we could have as much as we wanted. Most of us favored the Ginger Peach tea. The Earl Grey was the least favorite. For a friend who isn't a big fan of tea, she enjoyed the Chocolate Almond. It was nice that they provided hourglass timers to time the tea before it was ready. There was also an empty pot that we used to dump cold tea or tea we didn't like. We loved the presentation, and how beautiful the china was. It made for great pictures. The food was slow to come out, like others have mentioned in their reviews. Most of us enjoyed the food, but wouldn't say we were blown away. The plain scone served after all the courses was almost pitiful. We stayed for close to three hours. I would recommend this place for a group, since we had a wonderful time and enjoyed each other's company.

My sisters and I had a lovely Sunday tea time at the Tea Cart. The whole place is so cute and set to theme with beautiful table settings, ceiling adornments, etc. It's an added perk they have a couple racks of fun hats to choose from as well! We loved the music which was basically elevator music of top hits that we would each try to guess as they came on. We each chose the Royal Ascot for our meal option which included unlimited tea, a scone with cream and preserves, bowl of soup, a petite savory, and then a tower of four tea sandwiches and three desserts. My sister isn't the biggest fan of tea and I was surprised when our server recommended the earl grey which to me is the epitome of tea and an acquired taste. Luckily she went with the pumpkin chai and ended up enjoying it. We all enjoyed our tea and each ordered a different kind which is served in a small pot that then steeps at the table for 5 minutes. The food was served in the order described and I was worried about filling up on the large scone to start and chose not to finish it. After the soup, the savory prosciutto and blueberry pasty was definitely my favorite! I let them leave it on the table once the other food arrived and glad that I did because a couple of the tea sandwiches weren't my favorite. The desserts were delicious if you enjoy sweet icing. The staff was all very kind and pleasant. However, they weren't overly attentive and there were only three other tables occupied while we dined. I would have liked to try another type of tea besides the holiday spice I chose at the beginning and don't recall being asked if I wanted another. Overall, I would recommend making the trip here for a fun and different experience but I wasn't wowed by the food or service.

Very happy with a catered/take out tea for 8 people from the present menu held at my home in Fairfax, VA. Everything was delicious, beautiful to look at and easy to arrange with Allison. My guests loved the food selections and the teas. I hope to order again in the future.

The Tea Cart is all about the details.  The restaurant itself is so whimsically and thoughtfully decorated with wonderful hats and murals and bookcases full of teas.  Each table has a beautiful lace tablecloth and different styles of tea pots.  Even the tiny tea spoons sport little tea pots or tea cup motifs.  This care and attention continues with the beautifully crafted (and delicious) selection of tea sandwiches and desserts - including a royal crown shaped sugar cookie for the coronation tea.  The service was very friendly and attentive.  Our tea luncheon included a delicious potato soup (they called it vichyssoise but I am going to be really picky and say that to be so, it would have needed to be chilled.)  No matter what it was named, it was full of flavor as was the mini quiche Lorraine.  I would happily have either one of these again as well as any one of the tea sandwiches, some of which even came with a celebratory British flag.  The tea cart also offers dairy free options. Our selection of teas was also very enjoyable from a classic Early Grey to one with black cherry and another black tea with a hint or marzipan, which was the favorite of the table.  My only complaint, which they addressed right away and with good grace, was that the loose leaf tea was left in the tea pot after brewing time which results in over brewed undrinkable tea.  We fixed that by straining the tea into an empty tea pot right after the first pot had finished brewing.  The Tea Cart is located on Main Street with plenty of street parking.  Do be warned that the meters only take quarters!  Plus, the maximum time is only two hours which may not be long enough to enjoy a good meal.  One by one, all the diners around us had to run outside in the drizzle to feed the meters.  This also discourages people from visiting the surrounding shops while they are in town.  The Tea Cart is set to open a second location and we are looking forward to visiting that one in the future as well.

This was an on-the-way-home from a girls trip getaway pit-stop (boy, that was a mouthful) for a party of 6 gals. The Tea Cart is situated in a small town on a "main road" (so metered street parking). We had to make reservations in advance. Our group really thought for a weekday, it would be very calm and quiet, but almost every table was seated when we did our afternoon tea at 11am (so, busy). This is a super eclectic tea place, with customers being able to wear the prop hats that are situated throughout the place. Goods for sale are sprinkled throughout the store. The waitress' wear British-servant style costumes. I really liked that you could get unlimited refills or to try as many teas as you would like. Our group got quite the variety of teas. I enjoyed both my Strawberry Oolong and Vanilla Almond tea. I wasn't quite a fan of the Jasmine Mint (too much mint to Jasmine ratio) or Green Lavendar Rose (tasted like a potpourri bag). In terms of the light treats offered, our group was not a fan of the majority of the afternoon tea goods. The highlights were the chicken salad stuffed inside a croissant and the egg salad on bread (but egg salad was a tad dry and tasteless, with the rustic bread it was sitting on being the star), but the remainder of the food was just ok; the strawberry sandwich and top tier mousse with nut and cream parfait were the groups least favorite. I've been to my fair share of afternoon teas places and personally, this one fell short for a bit (price point to quality/quantity offered). I felt like the staff could not quite keep up with the demand and the pastries were lackluster and did not enhance the teas.

This is a lovely place to spend an afternoon. The decor is charming, the service was attentive, and the food was delicious. I loved the selection of hats that you could wear (I was tempted to leave with mine) We had the Royal Ascot which came with soup (carrot apple - yummy), small salad (Mediterranean pasta), an assortment of tea sandwiches (egg salad, ham and cheese, chicken salad, and of course cucumber), scones, and desserts (shortbread cookie, berry tart, and German chocolate cupcake). Everything was amazing - my favs were the chicken salad on garlicky crostini and the shortbread. And of course there was unlimited tea, with a huge variety to choose from. I really enjoyed the ginger peach. It was $40 per person, worth it for the enjoyable experience. (They also had champagne and mimosas available for an extra charge, but I stuck with the tea.)

This lovely little tea room is located right on Main Street in Berryville and holds specially themed afternoon teas regularly. Our party attended the Mad Hatter Tea in celebration of Galentines Day and it surpassed expectations - from the special decor to the themed dishes this afternoon tea really hit the mark. The tea started with a bowl of tomato bisque and a hot curried chicken pot pie and also included the usual three tiers of sandwiches, fresh scones and pastries. Everything was tasty and fresh and the tea pot was refilled several times. Service was friendly and the waitress explained each item as it was brought out. We very much enjoyed this event and look forward to attending more themed tea parties soon!

Brilliantly British!! Of all the tearooms I've reviewed, this just may be #1! It combines the elegance of a formal English tearoom with the charm of a small café. The galley style design creates aisles of cozy seating. The tables are impeccably appointed each decorated with a fabulous English hat! I took tons of photos, so forgive me for the montage of pictures included with this review! I went a little crazy, but I'm a sinensophile after all! It's apparent why they recommend reservations for this truly British experience. The servers were all neatly attired and demurely attentive. I was enthralled by the décor and my eyes happily surveyed the tearoom! Gorgeous chandeliers glistened from the artfully painted ceiling. The floors were covered with richly patterned rugs, murals and mirrors highlighted the walls. Attractive vintage and modern teacups and teapots accented the shelves. It was a lot to absorb and we enjoyed every inch of the place! The tea selections were thoughtfully chosen and the menus was delightful! We partook of a lovely tomato basil soup for starters, then a sausage filled pastry with honey sriracha glaze, followed by a tiered platter of egg salad finger sandwiches, chicken salad crostinis, ham & cheese croissants and classic cucumber rounds - all delicious and beautifully presented! The cream scones were scrumptious, served with jam and whipped cream. To tempt us further was the dessert tier consisting of the most delicate lemon & lavender shortbread cookies, mocha brownie bites and coconut almond macaroons. (I even ordered 1/2 dozen cookies to take home!). Now for the teas: the tea menu was so extensive and intriguing, I could hardly decide! The choices are categorized by type, blended black teas, green teas, black teas, oolong teas, Rooibos & herbal infusions and white teas, each with a detailed description of what to expect! I chose the Darjeeling as it's the Queen's favorite and the champagne of teas! My friend ordered the Tower of London blend with hints of bergamot. As our tea steeped, we tried on hats and took lots of pics with the Queen! We relished every morsel of our meal and sipped our tea in leisure! After we finished, we spent some time shopping, and purchased many accoutrements and gifts. My fav find was a "Queen" cut out that gave us quite a laugh! I had to take one home! The prices were perfectly reasonable! For a simply fabulous afternoon of luxury and repose, you will be enchanted by this dignified yet relaxing tearoom! Pamper yourself and come take tea with the Queen! Your Royal treatment awaits!

    Inside of the Tea cart

I am picky about my tea and when I saw the outrageous prices for high tea at lovely establishments in downtown DC, I was appalled and sad. So I looked West to the lovely little quaint towns in Loudon and settled on the Tea Cart in Berryville , near Leesburg. My niece and I had a Very authentic high tea and it was only 1 hour drive west out of Fairfax - so close to DC and for one third the $ price. Fun experience adults or kids. Food was excellent - scones were yummy. Lots of tea options. A full meal if you want. Themed events - we did the Christmas Nutcracker tea. Strongly recommend

Very nice High Tea place. The venue is cozy with decorations, tea pots and fancy hats (hats for the gentlemen- not as fancy). We started with soup and a pork filled pastry. Both were very good. Of course, the highlight was the pastry tray. All were great. We had 4 pots of tea, different varieties. We happily sloshed out two hours later. It was a big brunch. Servers were friendly. They said this tea show had been in business for seven years. We will return to enjoy another High Tea outing.

We try to schedule tea here once or twice a year. It has become a special thing I do with my mom and sister over the years. Never disappoints! They have always been attentive to dietary restrictions which is great for my mom. Food is delicious and despite it being small, we always leave very full! Tea is amazing. Cute little shop with a lot of adorable hats to wear while you enjoy your experience. You feel like royalty here.

Honestly, I've resisted posting a review because I don't want one of my favorite places to become overrun - that, of course, would be doing a disservice to the owner and her staff who clearly work hard at making this little gem shine. When you think of high tea, this is what you think of - except no gloves or snotty attitude. Wonderful tea, servers who seem to really care that I have a memorable experience - for all the right reasons, and food that you will remember weeks later for its yummy uniqueness. Everything seems to have been very well thought out. Oh, and hats! Pick a hat to wear during your tea event! Pose with the Queen! Great low-key visit with friends!

Worth the hype? Not for this first impression visit. $8 for a tea latte is a lot for what seemed like an 8-10 oz cup. Their marketing is effective, because their drinks did not look like the beautiful photos on their website. You might as well steep at home or go to your nearby fav familiar coffee or tea shop. My choice tasted good, but not $8 good. It was not overly sweet which was a plus, but outstanding in flavor because you believe you're getting ultra premium quality tea? Nope. I think I would have been happier and more satisfied by a boba tea concoction or my favorite tea at home. It's a small shop & really squishy and loud when it's packed. I nearly clocked a person just trying to turn around and exit. They have cute, expensive tea sets on the walls, but the overall atmosphere to me felt rather like a fast-foody sterile room lit by florescent lights. Just kinda harsh on the eyes and ears and not as warm, comforting, soothing as I'd hoped. Let's just say that to appreciate great food and/or beverage, either should evoke some really positive moods. I didn't feel that here with this venue, staff, nor the tea. My first sip didn't bring an "Oooooh! This is really yummy." Nor did the second or subsequent sips. It was just ok. Worth the drive? If you're really curious & susceptible to good marketing & influencers, then yes. If you're expecting unique palate pleasing wonder and don't want to spend $8 on tea leaves (or powder) & water, this is definitely not the place I'd recommend. I appreciate good quality tea and the environment as a package. I want to be hit by and leave with unmistakeably wonderful flavor and experience. It's rare to find this, but it exists. It just wasn't my experience here.

The menu reflects this with sandwiches and salads named for the likes of Bogart and Hepburn as well as afternoon tea options ranging from the Wonka Chocolate Tea to a classic afternoon tea and seasonal tea featuring soup and salad. We tried both the Wonka tea and the classic tea. The Wonka tea was a winner with its range of chocolate goodies, ranging from chocolate covered strawberries to a truly excellent slice of chocolate cake (that was also featured in the classic tea) right down to a solid chocolate spoon for stirring the chocolate flavored tea (you could also opt for hot chocolate instead of the tea). The classic tea was a bit more uneven, with the chicken salad sandwich and an unusual sweet potato sandwich featuring bacon jam and pepper jelly being quite good, while the thick sliced radish and cucumber sandwiches could do with refining of presentation (nobody really likes a thick slab of radish with the skin left on) and more flavor. Even a little extra salt would help. There are many varieties of tea to choose from for your classic tea and they were uniformly excellent. Service is leisurely, allowing time to relax and socialize, which is, after all, the point of afternoon tea. We never felt rushed and service was unobtrusive but professional. If you want to splurge, get the "Princess Tea" so you get the sandwiches, but that is $30, so be aware of the increase in price. When you make reservations, you MUST be very clear with them. You have to know their special terminology, and you cannot make any changes once you've made that reservation. The staff, though they smile sweetly, are not flexible whatsoever. We had an issue with reserving a Queen Tea, when we really wanted a Princess one. We didn't know the terminology, and ended up being charged for a Queen, despite talking with the staff about wanting the different one. The dining room has a nice ambiance and is decorated wonderfully, but isn't friendly towards those with disabilities or have trouble with stairs.
