Deliciousness - 3/5 Happiness - 3.5/5 A picturesque tea house in a quaint little town, we had a good Mother's Day outing there. There are a ton of tea flavors there and they let you smell them all before ordering. Although there is a full sandwich and entrée menu, we all went with the tea experience that came with tea, soup, scones, and finger sandwiches. The tea lived up to the billing and was mighty tasty - although only about 2-3 cups in each teapot (I feel like it should have been 4-5). The scones were uniformly delicious (my fave was the birthday cake scone), while the sandwiches were just OK. The bread on each sandwich overwhelmed the fillings/meat, so I just didn't get a ton of flavor. The service left a bit to be desired. We kept getting different servers, and that seemed to result in some confusion (i.e., being asked multiple times what we ordered, and food and tea coming out at different times). They missed an order completely, and the service was slow. They then asked us to leave as they needed to sit the next large group. No problem there as it clearly stated that the tea service had a time limit, but the only reason we hit it was because of the slow service and the need to fix orders (i.e., one whole person's tea service didn't come out with everyone else's). Also, the server said mimosas were half off but only after we ordered, did they say the half off didn't apply on Mother's Day! Overall, I'd go back again. The tea was excellent! But perhaps with a smaller group?

Came in for their $14.99 lunch special. Cozy and homey vibes. Didnt try their tea but the salad which chicken curry was fantastic.

FOOD/DRINK: 5/5 SERVICE: 5/5 EXPERIENCE: 5/5 I have been to multiple teas at Crest Hill and the experience is wonderful every time. They take time to do a different menu every month to keep it interesting, but I love the Christmas one the best. The attention to detail is even in the food! I appreciate that they can make dietary switches with no problems whatsoever. I also really like that you can keep getting hot water for free of charge. Many places charge for refills. Service is kind and impeccable. The food is hearty - so come hungry. This isn't a dainty snack-ish tea. This has multiple courses and the scones are so yummy! Only ding is that the place is teeny. So make sure you get a reservation!

This is an absolutely gem of a place! I'm so happy I stumbled upon a review or mention of this business in a blog. Located in idyllic The Plains, this lovely tea room transports you to England by way of fragrant and comforting tea blends and scrumptious bites to accompany the elegant beverages. What I loved: Unique and delicious tea blends Amazing blueberry and white chocolate scone that was moist and dense and not too sweet (GET THIS) Tasty tea sandwiches Charming decor A cozy rather than stuffy environment Friendly and attentive service Fair and affordable prices Afternoon tea can sound rather intimidating and seem overly formal, but Crest Hill Tea Room introduces you to the customs and traditions without being pretentious and unapproachable. I loved everything about my experience, and I can't wait to return to sample more teas. p.s. They also sell alcoholic beverages like strawberry mimosa mmmm.

Extremely inattentive service and long wait (45 min) for order of one tea sandwich and three scones. Eventually I ordered online for teas to go since servers never came back to our table to take the order for additional tea. Disappointing food and tea, except for the scones. I was planning to have a large holiday tea next weekend, but I have changed plans now.

So cute for a girls-day-out!!! The atmosphere is charming and each experience is different there as there are so many options! It's a bit pricy for me but remember you're paying for the beautiful presentation and unique flavors! It's also not stingy- the food is filling and you get a whole pot of the tea you choose.

Quaint little tea room. About a dozen tables with mismatched tea cups and cloth napkins. The store was entirely empty when we arrived on a Sunday afternoon. The tea was lovely. The food was tasty but a little heavy for a hot afternoon. (High eighties). We enjoyed the company and reminisced over a nice afternoon meal.

We came here for a Christmas themed afternoon tea and the whole experience was great! The tea room is located in The Plains so it was a bit of a drive but totally worth it. They don't have a parking lot but there was plenty of street parking around. The tea room is in a small building with a ton of character. We chose to do the afternoon tea, but they have a whole menu you can order from. They have a whole selection of teas to choose from, I went with the White Christmas and it was delicious. You get to choose a soup or salad, I got the salad and it had gingerbread mozzarella on it. You also get to choose a scone and they bring some clotted cream. Then you get a selection of finger sandwiches and desserts. All of the food was really good, and they brought the Christmas theme into all the items. You also can't beat the price, it was $39.99 per person. The serve was also very well paced and they never rushed us. Highly recommend checking this place out if you are looking for a good afternoon tea. I will be looking out for more themed teas here to try out!

I found this place on Yelp when searching up tea rooms in the DMV area. It was about an hour drive, but I almost would like to "gate keep" this place because it was such a gem! I made a reservation on their website and drove over to Plains, VA with a friend. There is plenty of street parking the the street is lined with different shops and restaurants. When we arrived at 12:30 PM, the restaurant was packed with our reserved table being the only one open! It's a fairly small place but it was cozy enough to get around and get seated. All items in the shop are up for sale and they carry unique antiques and seasonal items. We opted for the High Tea which comes with a variety of sandwiches, cookies, scones and a choice of tea/beverage. For the teas, we were able to smell the different varieties and I chose Mother of Pearl which had notes of strawberry and peach. They brought out a full tea pot and we has a strainer that kept the tea leaves from falling into the cup. The food was more than enough for both of us. The tea sandwiches were absolutely delicious and we plan to bring some of our friends here next time. I'm still thinking about those sandwiches!!

A cross between a tradition British tea room (with the eclectic furnishings and intentionally mismatched place settings) and a country cafe. The Crest Hill Tea Room offers a variety of dining options including a monthly themed tea, a proper High Tea with soup or salad and other more filling dishes, a Traditional Afternoon Tea and a Cream Tea. For those who don't want tea there are sandwiches, salads and soup options, plus children's menu options. We opted for the Cream Tea for 2, which was plenty of food for a light lunch for 2 people and is served up with bottomless tea. There are so many tea options I can't remember them all! You also have a choice of scone, so we tried the blueberry white chocolate scone and the Irish cream scone. Both were delicious! Airy and tender and served up warm with a side of cream (you also have the option of jam or curd but you must ask for it). There was also a warm apple tart, cream puffs, cheesecake, banana bread with chocolate chips, macarons, cookies and fresh fruit (grapes, blueberries, orange slices). Everything was incredibly tasty. They were setting up for a large birthday party as we were finishing so servers were distracted. Otherwise, service throughout was very good. It's a small place, so I would recommend making reservations in advance on their website (no pre-payment required) to be sure you can get a table. Parking is on street or there's a small lot across the street.

We came in for brunch this morning (Sunday) after making reservations... We arrived about 30 mins…read moreearly for our reservation and they sat us immediately. They weren't very busy when we got there, maybe about 4 tables sat. The menu looked quite nice, plenty of appetizing dishes to try. Service throughout was the issue though. We read reviews prior to coming here about the service being an issue, but we decided to give them a try anyway and we can say, the reviews are legit, they definitely need to work on service here!!! But the food was pretty darn good! Here are the positives - The food we tasted was pretty darn good! Their biscuit basket was nice, but the apple butter and the herbed butter in it were both amazing! Those biscuits were so darn good we saved one for dessert to enjoy with their apple butter. Their Grand Dad's Pastrami Sandwich was incredible! The pretzel bun was so soft and flavorful... then mixed with the mustard and their excellent corned beef and those perfectly caramelized onions and cheese - it made one heck of a great sandwich! The chips that came with the sandwich were on the dry/basic side, so they weren't worth the calories. The cole slaw was just 'ok' too. But the sandwich made up for those. Their tomato soup was made very nicely... definitely worth trying! Overall... there are so many options, so why come back? 2Kyles is right next to this place and they have been consistently very good, as we've been there a few times. Sorry, but until they fix their issues with delayed service, the kitchen lacking in food prep (we overheard the chef telling them many times about how to properly prepare dishes), and front of house - I doubt we'll return.

Went to the Bistro for birthday dinner with friends. We made a reservation and were seated…read morepromptly. We started with drinks and they were great. I personally had a cranberry mule and it was flavorful. For starters we had the deviled eggs (not pictured) and the crab dip. I'm not a deviled egg fan, but the crab dip was amazing. I would go back for drinks and crab dip for sure. For my entree I had the pasta with bolognese with meatballs. The sauce was good and I wasn't disappointed with my meal, however for me, the crab dip was the star of my experience.
