TL;DR: Inconsistent. Food (1/5): I can make better waffles at home. They are dry, overcooked, and thin. They are also not a full waffle. The kids making them don't use enough batter and then cook them until they are hard enough to bounce off a wall. I do not recommend the waffles. Coffee (4/5): The coffee is usually good, but they get the orders wrong often. I've gotten to the point where I just accept whatever they give me. One time I asked them to remake a drink, and they still made it incorrectly. I gave up and drank it anyway. Ambiance (4/5): Parking is limited, but that's expected since it's in downtown Berryville. The space inside is small but has a cozy feel. There are maybe four tables total, so seating can be hard to find. read more

This shop is SO cute, and I LOVE the decor!!! Ample indoor and outdoor seating. Small parking lot and also street parking available. Picked up a lavender latte before going on a nice walk with a friend. The latte was only ok and staff was not overly friendly. read more

What a hidden gem! Greg at Clark Automotive turned me onto to this place when I asked if there was a coffee shop where I could wait while he worked on my Jeep. Man, this place is soooo cool. It's what Starbucks strived to be when they first started - good coffee and a comfy place to sit. Brandon, the owner, was roasting beans and was super friendly. Stopped in at Cordial Coffee for a cold brew. Cordial Coffee is located in downtown Old Town Berryville, VA - BUT is not directly on the main drag. You have to turn onto a side street and the parking lot is on the back side of a building. Upon entering - you are first greeted by an old school looking coffee bean roaster - that gives off Steam Punk vibes. It was actively roasting when I arrived - meaning the whole place smelled like heaven. I then passed through the second door into what can only be called the "Inner Sanctum of Cordial," which is where the ordering counter is located. I ordered a large cold brew with creamer. Unfortunately - what passes for a large is not as large as I would like - but oh well. The Barista asked if I wanted ice - which I did. Their cold brew is served up off a Nitro-based system. Overall, a decent enough cold brew. There are a couple of small rooms with tables and chairs, plus a couple outside on the porch. I ran into the owner out in the first room - doing something with his coffee beans. I complimented him on the coffee bean roasting machine - particularly the delicious odor it was emitting - of smoky, oily roasted coffee bean goodness. Cordial Coffee is reminiscent of solitude etched in my core memory. I started with the valencian. A mocha drink with orange zest. Each element of this drink worked in harmony, resulting in the most delicious mocha that I've ever had. Then came the seasonal batter (cinnamon) waffles, and opted it to have bananas and blueberries, with both the syrup and grass fed butter. The inside was perfectly fluffy while crispy on the outside. Really cute coffee shop right in the heart of downtown Berryville. The place has a chic urban vibe which is really fun since it's in contrast to the traditional feel of the downtown. I loved the little nook seating areas which felt really warm and had great windows for looking out and pondering while enjoying your caffeine. They get a special shout out for having cold brew on draft which I love. The employees give off a sort of hipster vibe but with a nice small town flair. I'll be back. read more

I came here while staying in Berryville and was so pleased to find such a nice coffeeshop! I ordered a whole milk latte and the milk and espresso were high quality and made the drink perfect. You HAVE to try the waffles! I took mine to go but it was still delightful when I got back. They are gluten free, but don't let that scare you! They are fluffy and delightful and Cordial Coffee does not skimp on the toppings. Mine had a healthy dollop of freshly whipped cream, butter on the side, and sliced strawberries on top. I love Cordial Coffee! I wish we had one near us. But whenever we are in the area, we stop by! It's a cute charming little spot. The service is wonderful. Everyone is so warm and welcoming! The espresso and lattes here are out of this world. I love their Lavender lattes, I end up drinking one (or two) when I'm there. And then ordering another one for the long ride home. (Not really a good idea if you have a small bladder!) but it's soooooo goooooood! I love their waffles, they are made to order so they come out piping hot! This is my favorite coffee/breakfast spot! The gluten free waffles are amazing!! They always have super fun seasonal flavors, but the plain waffles are always spot on! I love the apple pie and pumpkin flavors a lot though. The coffee is also so good! I love the oat milk lattes, the espresso blend they use is great, I really want to buy it and make it at home, so much better than other coffee shops! It's not bitter or burnt tasting. Cordial Coffee used to be my favorite place to meet new clients for my small, local business (after all, we small businesses should support each other!). I made it a point to post a glowing review last year, but after my most recent visit on 2/1/19, I'm sad to say that I will no longer be a patron of this cafe. I approached the counter, placed my order and asked the female barista/owner if she had recently seen a couple come in, within the past 10 minutes and that I was meeting prospective clients. I was met with an irritated and huffy reply of, "That's a vague question, I've seen at least 10 couples today!" Perhaps it was a vague question, I can understand that, but let's be real... this isn't Starbucks with 500+ customers walking through the doors daily. The barista/owner had a full view of the both seating areas from her vantage point, but couldn't even bother to glance over her shoulder (though somehow mustered up the energy to be extremely rude and off-putting). Small businesses, especially those on Main Street where turnover is high, depend on providing an exceptional customer experience. The coffee is wonderful, but the service was the complete opposite of cordial. read more

Amazing coffee and the best waffles I've had, ever. This place just very recently opened up and we were just blown away. Someone had given us word of a new café so we had to come and check it out, and we're so fortunate that we did. The interior is spacious, beautiful, pristine and spotless, with ample seating, a comfy couch to lounge on as well as tables and regular seats. We were "cordially" greeted by Brandon and Jonathan; these guys are friendly and professional. I was intrigued to learn that they make Belgian waffles right in the shop. The three of us were hungry so I went with Brandon's suggestion and ordered the seasonal batter (for now that's pumpkin) waffles with orange zest. After a few minuets they were done and we sat down to enjoy them. I couldn't believe the amazing taste! The coffee was fantastic, rich and wholesome, not at all bitter, really smooth. We shared one cup and it was enough to spring us back to life. We must come back for more waffles, we decided. The restroom was super clean and I really like the fact that on a Sunday they stay open as late as 6pm. Amazing, quite possibly my new favorite spot. read more

Most of the time, the reviews on google are a bit higher than those on Yelp, and I usually defer to Yelp. This time, the google stars and Yelp stars collided and they were both right! Very cute place, chill, clean and nice atmosphere. Great staff, very welcoming. I don't even really like waffles, but I LOVED this one. Helpful ordering cards, waffle nice an fluffy-I didn't even need the k one to cut it, just melted with my fork. Fresh ingredients, pour over coffee. This is a review for ordering through their website. I'm not a coffee drinker, but my brother is. Since his birthday is coming up, I figured I'd surprise him with some coffee beans. My personal preference is to shop small businesses. I reached out through Facebook for some recommendations, and Cordial Coffee was mentioned several times. The owner, Brandon Bellard, reached out to me via IM and offered his assistance if I had any questions. I looked at the website and asked Brandon which of the whole bean coffees were medium roast. He responded quickly with two suggestions. I ordered a 10 ounce bag of each and sample pack of beans. I liked that Pay Pal was an option for payment. I'm looking forward to getting out to Cordial Coffee in the near future to try out some of their stuff because, holy cow, they've got waffles! read more

It's such a charming place to stop in for some lovely, third wave coffee. And waffles! The decor is comfy, homey and warm. Like many specialty coffee shops, there was art hanging on the walls available for purchase. They also sold other local items like barbecue sauce. We bought a bag of roasted beans (which when we took home to make our way was DELICIOUS), a seasonal waffle (pumpkin!) and a latte and cappuccino. The waffle can take a little bit to make, but it's pretty darn tasty. Perhaps it was because it was pumpkin, but it not as crispy as I would like. But the flavor is great and I wouldn't hesitate to order waffles from them again. I also got it topped with lemon zested whipped cream which was so good. I ended up not using any maple syrup at all because I only needed the whipped cream. They have other drinks like teas and smoothies. But the draft latte is calling my name for the next visit. read more

I really enjoy the atmosphere and the drinks they have at this shop. It's a great place to get work done and relax. that being said it is hard to get past the snarky attitude that I've gotten from a few of the baristas that work here. I could understand putting off a cold front or just being quiet. I know I'm not the only one who has experienced this at this particular spot in town. Honestly I want to come back but until they hire some more open minded individuals Its not as nice spending my money there. Excellent Prices and even better quality! Most coffee places charge you an arm and leg for sub par coffee but Cordial sets the bar for what a coffee place ought to be. The coffee is delicious and reasonably priced. I had the best mocha I have ever had. An added bonus is that they make their own waffles and offer a variety of great toppings, all natural and local ingrediants too.
