The Teal Yogi was founded by Mandy Flannery in Lockport, IL, out of a personal journey of healing and resilience. While caring for her partner through a serious illness, Mandy discovered how trauma-sensitive yoga could support emotional and physical recovery. Inspired to share this transformative approach, she transitioned from her previous career to create a studio where healing, empowerment, and nervous system regulation come first. Since opening, The Teal Yogi has grown into a welcoming community that supports people at all levels of experience — from beginners seeking gentle, restorative practices to aspiring teachers looking for trauma-informed training.
