We did the WildWood Trail to the Witches Castle! It's a nice hike. Wear appropriate shoes and clothes! 2.3-5 miles round trip. It's a big enough path for multiple people but some areas narrow. The climb down is good but man back up lol you will feel the burn. They have restrooms onsite indoor and then they have a bathroom in the mansion basement. Toilets flush loud don't be alarmed. At the bottom of the trail when you cross the street, there was a porta potty. Map as well. Parking is expensive: weekend Saturday it was roughly $24 for all day! There are benches and picnic tables towards the view! Staff are very nice! Gift shop as well with snacks, plants, jewelry, postcards, and all sorts of items.

He first drove us around Portland and explained the geography of the city, then we visited Pittock Mansion, where he shared a bunch of interesting facts and history. Next, we went to the International Rose Test Garden, where we got to walk around and literally stop to smell the roses. Afterward, Peter continued showing us around Portland and sharing interesting facts along the way. Since we had a little extra time, we also stopped at Mt. Tabor Park, and we ended the tour with a visit to Voodoo Doughnut before Peter dropped us back off at our hotel. Overall, we had an amazing time! No hard liquor but they have beer, wine, hard ciders and a wine made to taste like tequila for their version of a margarita. We got the watermelon ones. Mmm... Yes, you can bring your own food n board. Our birthday girl brought a stack of pizzas, chips, dips and a birthday cake. Yes, they get you as up close to the falls as legally allowed. Yes, there are plenty of tables and comfy sofa style benches to relax on while you take in the sunset. Yes, they have bluetooth speakers so you can all jam to your favorite tunes. Yes, they provide a karaoke machine so your party can garble the 2 whole hours if they want. I really can't think of a downside except that the birthday girl kept saying that she wished the night wouldn't end. We visited Latourell Falls, Shepperd's Dell, and Wahkeena Falls before ending at the iconic Multnomah Falls. Angela was incredibly knowledgeable and kept the tour interesting with all kinds of facts about the Gorge and the surrounding area. She even pointed out fresh blackberries along the way and showed us some banana slugs which, naturally, I was delighted by. I really appreciated that the tour wasn't just "look, waterfall!" Angela kept sharing little facts and observations that made the whole experience more interesting and gave us a better appreciation for what we were seeing. A beautiful way to explore the Gorge without having to figure out all the logistics yourself.

If…read moreyou're planning a trip to Portland (OR), I highly recommend doing the tour at the start of your trip--not the end--because now I have to come back just to follow up on other "tidbits and records " she shared on the history of Portland's parks and recreation scenes. The tour kicks off by meeting up at a red building--easiest to find if you're walking just outside the perimeter. Look for a small black signage on the door. The owner usually leaves the door unlocked in the morning hours so look for benches set up for you to seat and wait for your group. Susan, our guide, is a Portland native who left for college and returned back to Portland. She gave us some great bonus insights beyond the standard tour -- like history of the places, including local tycoons, how roads were funded and how each section of the districts were divided. More importantly , she suggested a ghost tour and highly recommend to try biking around town--definitely on my list for next time!

Probably because our guide, Christopher, was AMAZING! I cannot rave about him enough! He took us around Portland and showed us the different areas. His energy and personality was so great, he really made the tour as much fun as possible. He even let us have a pit stop to Blue Star Donuts, which was a nice little break! The Segways were super easy to use and Christopher was a great teacher and made sure everyone felt comfortable at all times. I was very nervous at first but after a couple of turns I felt like a pro! I was nervous for the first 5 minutes of waiting for my riders lesson, but was comfortable the second I stepped onto my "Mall Cop" mobile. 13 mph seems slow, until you're whipping around on city streets at that pace. Once you get going though, you get a total feel of Badassness. If there is such a thing...on a Segway. I would recommend the Portland Segway tour to anyone - in the summertime - with a Bucket List.
