Our bourbon expert , for the evening.
    EsGarcia G.

I wanted to do something special for my husband's birthday. I decided that a tasting would be cool, but I wanted it to be something masculine . I searched the Internet for private sommeliers, that would come out to the home , but everything that came up was for wine; I wanted bourbon/whiskey. I stumbled across The Texas Wine School's page and was pleased to see a spirits section! I emailed Walden to see if he knew anyone who could come do a tasting of spirits . Walden got me in contact with Gary Clark , the coolest spirits expert ever! Gary was attentive and communicated well above my expectations. Our guest loved Gary's sense of humor and vast knowledge of the different types of bourbon. We will definitely be patronizing The Texas Wine School , in the future!

Wset class. What a great organization. Brian was our trainer last night and did an amazing job. Really excited about pursuing my wine career more. Hard to give details now. Class 2 and I'll have more pictures and feedback about the facility. Great things coming.

She & I were the only people in attendance on a weekday afternoon. Before you start, you select which size (ounces) perfume you want to make; 10ml is the default but you can upgrade to a larger size & pay an up-charge. Each person makes their own scent choosing 1-3 scents for each category of base, middle, & top. We had 24 different scents to smell and choose from. The Love & Make employee provides composition guidelines & suggestions on scent quantities. After you make all your scent selections, the worker does the final "math" to tell you quantities of each scent. You measure out each scent & finally mix them all together to create your final scent. I'll admit, the worker was not very enthusiastic while helping us. Yes we were the only participants that day but it would have been nice if she had a little bit of "perkiness" while working with us. Nonetheless, the two of us enjoyed each other's company & enjoyed the unique experience. I would definitely return & bring a few more people to have a group experience. I highly recommend the experience! The overall experience was a 5. However, I will rate it 4 because customer interaction for this type of experience is important. Things to Note: - Weekday afternoon sessions are only 45 minutes, $40 vs weekday evenings & weekend sessions are 90 minutes, $75. - Weekday 45 minute sessions have less scents to choose from BUT 24 is still a good amount. - The class is BYOB! - Parking lot across the street is a "pay-by-phone/app".

So happy to see a virtual cooking class on the Weekly Savor from Central Market. So easy to invite several of my friends who I met cooking virtually at many, many Yelp cooking events. The free live online class and discussion with Chef and Restaurateur Einat Admony, who is known for her fresh, sophisticated Mediterranean palate, was fabulous. So interesting to learn about Chef Admony's journey and challenges as a chef and then cook along with her using chicken, lemons, herbs, onions and olives in Braised Chicken with Olives and Citrus. She also did a bonus Tahdig recipe. The food turned out amazing!! Chef Admony was one of the first chefs to introduce Israeli cuisine to Americans. I would love to eat at her flagship New York eatery, Balaboosta. She sold her Taim franchise to Chipotle, the Mexican fast-food chain. She has competed on the Food Network's reality television show Chopped and won twice. She is also a comedian and is a great teacher. Her passion really shined during this virtual class. Thanks to Chef and Restaurateur Einat Admony for sharing your wonderful story as a chef and your cooking tips. You are an inspiration. Thanks also Central Market Cooking School for offering this great class virtually. Thanks for the recipe and the recording. Braised Chicken with Olives and Citrus. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Put the chicken, olives, onion, preserved lemon, dried limes, lemon slices, oil, honey, salt, cilantro, garlic, turmeric, cumin, paprika, and red pepper flakes in a large bowl. Using your hands, mix everything thoroughly, making sure the chicken pieces are well coated with the spices and herbs. Arrange the chicken pieces skin-side down in a deep baking dish in a single snug layer. Arrange the rest of the mixture over the chicken. Whisk the stock with the orange juice in a measuring cup and pour over the chicken.

In this busy world we live in, I love the simplicity of a one pot dish. I feel like I have made every chicken dish imaginable, until I learned Chef Admony's recipe. The chicken, onion, olives, lemon, limes, and spices all go into one dish. You bake it on 400 degrees for 40 minutes and take it out, flip the chicken skin side up and put it back in for 20 more minutes. Voila! Your dish is done. It is delicious and aromatic! My kitchen smells so good. I also really liked Chef Admony's recipe for a Jasmine rice cake with saffron butter and toppings. A perfectly balanced and tasty meal, that I can make in my kitchen. I really enjoyed listening to Chef Admony talk about the balance between work and kids, that is a real struggle for women everywhere. I have seen Chef Admony on Chopped and Beat Bobby Flay. She is a fierce competitor and knows her flavor profiles. I am kicking myself for not taking pictures, but I was taking careful notes on the cooking procedures and tips to making these dishes successful. I really do miss Yelp's virtual events, but Central Market Cooking Classes really helped fill that niche. Thank you Chef Admony and Central Market Cooking Classes.

For drinks, I got the Mekhong Mojito and it was sweet and refreshing! For appetizers, we got the crispy squid and the crispy wonton- crispy squid was good but if you had to choose between the two, get the crispy wonton! As for the entree, I ordered the Khao Soi with shrimp and my friend ordered the spicy red snapper. The curry broth with coconut milk was fragrant and with the toppings that came on the side (i.e. lime, onions/shallots, mustard greens, etc) enhanced the dish. The flat egg noodles were bouncy and the shrimp was solid. If you're stuck between choosing a curry dish and a noodle dish, get the best of both worlds and order the Khao Soi! As for my friend's spicy red snapper, I tried a bite and the spices/texture in the dish complimented the fish very well. For dessert, we ordered the classic Mango Sticky Rice! The mango was soft/sweet, the rice and sauce had that salty coconutty flavor. Aside from the delicious food, the interior is cozy and the waiters here were friendly and gave great advice on what to order. They have that street food vibe as a well representation of their name, Rim Tanon, which means roadside. With dedicated parking that fills up quick during peak times, it may be difficult to locate parking as it is shared with a few other restaurants and the spaces are quite tight. We tried their appetizers including Salmon Rolls (flavorfully packed with cream cheese, salmon, and spinach in a crispy shell and loving that actually spicy mayo on the side), Thai Style Jerky (deep fried and sun dried marinated pork and beef served with sticky rice rolls and side spicy tamarind sauce, a bit too dry/chewy), Fried Tofu (perfect little triangles, so good by itself or with the side sweet and sour sauce with crushed peanuts), Chive Pancake (deep fried and chive packed triangles with a slight chew to it, great by itself or with it's spicy soy sauce companion). As for the mains, the Spicy Seafood Fried Rice is a good value as it was loaded with all sort of fruits of the sea (shrimp, squid, and mussel), with prominent lemongrass and kaffir lime aroma, but a bit wet or moist for a fried rice dish, the Crabmeat Omelet is served with a nice portion of lump crabmeat where you can taste the flavor of the seafood and add sriracha to liking, and the Beef Pad See Ew is made appetizing with wok charred flat rice noodles along with a savory blend of soy sauce, Chinese broccoli and egg. The portion size is alright and filling for a moderately hungry individual, though it would've been even better a tad bigger for those coming in hangry. I'll be back for more when I'm craving some modern Thai food and especially want to try their curry dishes. Service was quick and efficient, attentive to refills on drinks and friendly!
