I came here for a work event and it was really fun. We were provided aprons, easels, brushes, paint, cups with water, and napkins. Now, I'm no expert at painting, but I appreciated how difficult it was to get the colors, shadows, lighting, textures, and movement right. I enjoyed mixing colors and trying my best to paint the right strokes. Our instructor, Juan, made painting approachable and fun. He brought humor to our class as well. There were other staff helping to make sure people didn't run out of paint colors, especially yellow and white for this painting. This was still a timed class so we didn't have a ton of time to learn exactly how to paint certain parts right. Overall, everyone's paintings came out great, with each person bringing their own take on the prototype painting. Like other painting classes, you can bring drinks and snacks. But, I didn't eat anything because I was so focused on the painting. I would recommend eating prior to the event. As a group activity, this is great as a team bonding and relaxation experience. Went in on 3/11/2025 - Leo is funny and patient and really explains TECHNIQUE over making it just look right. We arrived and immediately offered ice, cubby holes for our things and anything else we may need. He played music at a really good level and turned down when he was ready to show us the next steps. He gave everyone the same amount of attention and never tried to take over your painting. He showed how to do things on the paper tablecloth rather than on my painting - I really appreciate that because, I know I'm not an artist, and I am ok with my painting not being perfect...and I felt, I did it, not the instructor. A great idea for date night with friends and family. They have various locations around town. You can reserve your seat on their website. They have a preview of the painting for each night. The class is usually 2-3 hours long. Bring your own drink and food to class. You don't need to have any experience in painting. They walk you step by step in class so you can relax. I was a little worry since I haven't painted in a while but I was happy with how my painting came out. One thing the instructor will tell you is to relax and not stress if you make a mistake. 2 hours went by faster than I thought. The instructor was nice and helpful. She was patience with everyone as someone took longer than others. Apparently if it's your birthday, they let you select a painting to take home and they also have the class sing happy birthday to you. Don't forget to add your initials on your painting. I would love to come back and try a different painting. Majority of the paintings they have are sunset, nature, and usually something with the ocean. read more

Easiest 5 stars I've given... This was so much freakin fun! I loved every minute. The instructor was great and that made for such a fun experience. Her instructions were clear, demonstrations were effortless and she walked around assisting and complimenting. Made me feel like I was a true artist lol!!! And the best part, she was funny as hell! I wish I could remember her name (it starts with a P) but she's a young Indian lady (if I find out, I'll come back and update this review with it). I don't think you could go wrong with her, matter of fact, I'm positive you can't! They supply everything except the actual licka! Our instructor was Heather, who i thought was teaching a little bit too hasty, or perhaps it was my first time painting so I was just slow. i dunno *shrugs* In the beginning, everything went well, but then i screwed up in painting the background. I painted the whole thing red, bright red, just very very red......the more I painted in an attempt to fix the problem, the "redder" the background got!! Fortunately, the assistant, Elaine, saw me having a difficult time with the red paint so she showed me how to mix yellow and white paint into the red to make orange so as to lighten up the background color by using the lighter colors to paint over the red. Eventually i corrected the problem and had a nice background. Thank you, Elaine~ Although it was supposed to be a 2-hour session from 7:00 - 9:00 PM, the class was not dismissed until 10 PM! Wow! we painted an extra hour!! The staff was so nice and did not charge us any extra for the additional hour even though the fee for 3 hours was $45 and we each paid only $35 for the 2-hour session. Anyhoo, we had a great time over there, and took home some nice paintings~ I love this place and will go back soon to paint another one! This place was okay, my first time being here. I always wanted to go to a painting with a twist so I decided to go out for my birthday. It was utterly crowded I felt that there was no space in between people because the woman next to me we kept bumping into each other. Be prepared , if you do not like loud ladies do not come. Most of them are already drunk on the first sips. Their microphone kept turning off. It was kinda hard to hear and the lady was having a hard time trying to speak due to the microphone. It's weird painting with 3 brushes , or maybe that's just me I would like to have more options. They use paper plates for paint, pretty cheap they could use some trays and rewash so the paint wouldn't smudge like it does with the paper plates. For my birthday they gave me a wine glass which is nice. I use a check in offer to see what I could get but it was a keychain and a small long bag. At first they were going at a great pace then all of a sudden everything went so fast and it was a blur. There was a bachelorette party or something which was nice for the bride to be but it would be nice to let her have her own room since it is her special day. Maybe I'll go in the mornings some day their paintings from the mornings are way cuter than the afternoons/ nights. Hopefully with another visit I can change my mind about this location. read more

Fun experience! Honestly with so many other paint studios around the Houston area PWAT is not my first choice. They never run specials outside of their loyalty program and most of their paintings are either too simple are too difficult in my opinion. But my group decided this is where they wanted to paint so I just tagged along. The handful of times I have gone, I've had a great time. The instructors are always super friendly and patient as well as entertaining. Now if they'd just make it a bit more affordable... Checking in earns you a free gift but they don't tell you what it is. The PWAT on Fry rd in Katy gave a choice of a PWAT mug, PWAT stemless wine glass, or one of the paintings on the wall. This PWAT gave me a choice of an ugly button or a sheet of metallic tattoos that had obviously been dug out of the bottom of a drawer or something. read more

We called up this place at almost the last minute, 2 days prior, and were able to make a late night reservation for a private class. They have no private class size minimum (unlike other places). They also request no deposit (unlike other places). And it was cheaper! You can pay online before you come to the class. We had our reservation at 8pm for a 2 hour class, but we started late (people got lost). No problem. We weren't rushed. Just chilled, drank wine. It was the PERFECT after dinner activity. We painted. We were instructed. We were told to smile and to drink more wine because obviously we were taking this whole thing too seriously. We sang to the songs. And when I was starting to get a little buzzed / too into the painting, I asked the instructor to stop and repeat the last step and he did so dutifully. I am not really good at taking direction. But this was fun. My fiance, of course, decided to be interpretative. He was not scolded or ostracized for not making the same painting, he just did what he do. Took my 8-year-old daughter here for some mommy and me time. I was glad they allowed me to take her. Other locations I called snubbed me and referred to the "all ages" sessions. I am no artist but my painting didnt turn out so bad, especially since I free-handed it. The instructor guides you but you're free to paint however you want. An assistant walks around to assist as necessary with advice or more paint or supplies. He complimented a lot of people - I think he was just trying to be nice to everyone, but thats okay. =) I definitely would come back. So I've been to one of these painting/drinking things before and it wasn't a great experience (don't remember if it was painting with a twist or not), but this was a complete 180 from that. And I have to say that's probably because of our instructor. The last time I went to one of these things our instructor seemed so annoyed that everyone was chatting and making jokes and having a good time while she was trying to teach the class. I get it, you're trying to teach people how to paint, and they are drinkin up a storm and not paying attention...I can see how that would be a tad bit annoying. BUT this is a painting slash drinking concept. Isn't that the whole premise of this shop?? Anyway, our instructor here was completely different. Although there were many drunk people in the classroom and people were being very loud and impolite at times, our instructor was very patient and didn't seem mad or annoyed at all. He made jokes and you could tell he was having a good time. He also came around and helped those who wanted help with their paintings. Because of him, I definitely had a much better experience than in the past. I knocked off one star because there were a lot of people in the class and the noise level was very high. I would recommend maybe making the classes a bit smaller in size, if possible? Besides that, it was a pretty nice and fun experience! read more

They're usually pretty packed on the weekends and it's a toss up during the week. Our instructor, Kay, was really friendly and encouraging. She walked us through the painting step by step showing us different variations on how to draw branches, leaves, and flowers. We also chatted about things besides the painting. Recently been attending a few of these BYOB painting classes and PWAT is at the top of my list. There's a variety of themes to choose from their schedule which is what I did vs. setting up a private party. I attended the Starry Night in Houston class which was packed. The instructor gave clear and easy follow directions and frequently reminded those who were nervous to take a a couple swigs of their "no-stress juice." She also lightened up the mood with jokes and a "whoop whoop" shouting contest with the private party in the next room. A plus for this place is that they paced the class well. Actually giving you time to DRINK and EAT, paint, dry, do some touch ups, dry again, and repeat if necessary. Other places are so caught up in instructing the class to where it leaves little time to actually enjoy the whole BYOB concept. There were times where I actually forgot I had brought wine and food with me during a similar 3 hr class! read more

Excellent place to get your creative juices flowing. Just remember, it's bring you're own juice but they do supply the cups. The staff is friendly, and quite good at what they do. I went from a blank canvas to a semi decent tree in an hour and a half! My painting partners, however, had some pretty awesome paintings! Good for family, dates and dates that lead to families. This is a super fun thing to do with friends and it is definitely a social thing. Unfortunately I don't feel that they allow enough time to get through the project. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was a crazy full class with everyone right up next to each other. We arrived early and the class started promptly at 1:30 and everything was cleaned up, pictures taken and out the door at 3:31. It was all very rushed. When we got up to dry our picture and then came back to touch something up all materials were picked up and put away. I think if I do it again I would definitely choose the last class of the day so that maybe they wouldn't be in such a hurry. I hope it's different in the evening when you bring your wine and you are there with a group wanting to paint and be social because on a Saturday afternoon I do t feel that's what this was and it was a little disappointing. read more
