I have been a loyal client of the Texture room for 4 years, coming every 2 months for the last 2 years. My stylist was Chelsea. Apparently she left the salon between my last visit and this one. I took a half a day off of work, drove the 30+ minutes to the salon, only to be told Chelsea's not there anymore and I no longer have an appointment. No call, text, or email (all of which they have and have used in the past) telling me my appointment was canceled. No heads up that my stylist left and asking if I wanted to switch to another one. Nothing. The receptionist was polite and let me know the manager wasn't in but she would let her know to contact me. I received a call later saying they would try to get me in with another master stylist - but then they asked what services I was getting! Chelsea is a master stylist - we talk about what we want to do, she makes it happen. I don't want or need to know the name of the services it goes under - I just want it done. I have spent thousands of dollars at this salon between my haircuts and color, my daughter's haircuts and tinsel application, and purchasing products. For them to cancel my appointment with no communication and then to apparently have no information available about my normal processes is just too much. While the stylists are lovely, the management is terrible. Find a stylist at a different Aveda salon where they value their customers. read more

Run don't walk. Received poor haircut and color. Manager agreed to deep conditioner and new cut. Stylist handling issue was rude, blamed me, and wanted to charge me 75 for cut to fix poor cut I received. Again run don't walk. They need to refund me $315 for this nightmare. read more

I've been a client of Tony's for about 4 years now. No exaggeration, I get compliments on my hair every day I leave the house. I've embraced going gray, he works his magic & gives me perfection. If you can managed to get on his schedule, you'll be a happy camper! I also get my brows done by Rachel. She does a great job, takes her time and has a soft hand...which I appreciate. No one likes being swollen or puffy. Hannah does my daughter's hair. She's super sweet and gentle and makes her feel like she's having a special day. Sarah is a manger who goes above and BEYOND for guests. I was a first time client and she made me feel like I was a regular. It's always hard finding a new hair salon, it can be daunting as you're usually surrounded by a close knit group of clients/ stylists, and feel like the newbie. I never have had a true hair stylist, I always bounced around trying to find a good fit at a price that I could afford. I met with Tony, who is not only extremely creative and experienced, but is an awesome human being! I get bored pretty quickly and like to change up my hair a lot, but I also am pretty clueless when it comes to anything hair related. He was such a great teacher to me with showing me tips and tricks for maintaining my hair! He also took the time to come up with ideas with me for my next look. This is an AVEDA hair salon in Apollo beach, I actually found it through yelp! I called in on Tuesday and thankfully, they were able to get me in on the same day! My stylist was Bibi, she is a junior stylist and was spectacular! She was very insightful, compassionate toward my situation (extreme hair loss due to post VSG surgery), and very careful with how she handled my hair. She gave me so many tips and tricks on how to maintain it and the prices are VERY affordable! - I recently moved to Tampa from Miami, and coming from a very metropolitan area, I can say these prices are beyond reasonable! Tried a new salon today as looking for a change. Happen to drive by a few days prior so decided to try them out. Maggie was my stylist and took lots of time finding out what I liked and did not like and what I was looking for. I ended up with cut, color and highlights (damn gray hair keeps following me). You get a great scalp massage and hot towel over scalp which felt great. The atmosphere is extremely relaxing with beverages and snacks available for your pleasure. I did not feel rushed at all and really felt like Maggie was my personal stylist. Definitely will be back. read more

She communicated with me the entire time as to what she was going to do and what she thought would look good and asked and involved me in the entire process. I have been growing out my balayage from about a year ago and was ready to cut all the dead, rough ends off. I wanted to try a bob haircut but was soo scared as I've had long hair all my life. We are new to the Apollo Beach area and I had no idea where to go as I only ever cut my hair about once/twice a year, I found The Texture Room through Google and decided to call and give it a go. They got me in on a cancellation and gave me Tony as my stylist. The salon was beautiful and the staff was friendly but I was very nervous being that this was first time there and I didn't know what to expect. As I waited in their waiting area I took notice of the customers there before me and could sense that many of them were repeat customers that were welcomed by their stylists personally and seemed very happy to be there, like meeting with an old friend again. In the past I have had stylists that don't listen or assume what you are looking for when you explain the style you would like to achieve and I was hoping this would not be the case being as I was making what felt like a BIG change for me. Tony was every. single. thing you could possible want in a stylist. He was incredibly warm and friendly, he listened to me and even asked questions and helped me look through photo suggestions I had pinned to help both me and him narrow down and understand the style I wanted to achieve. He answered any questions I had happily and professionally and we kept conversation that didn't feel forced or fake in fact quite the opposite! He checked in with me throughout my cut to make sure it was what I was looking for and upon my request helped show me how to style my new cut. He suggested some products (and showed me how they worked!) but never ever made me feel like he was selling them to me or pushing them on me which actually made me willing to try them so much more, and I did infact buy some at the end of my appointment. As a first time customer I can say I will absolutely be going back there and would 110% recommend Tony. He made me feel confident, beautiful and happy upon leaving the salon and the whole experience was more than I expected for sure. read more

It was time for cut, color and style and I was tired of driving to Brandon. I called and made an appointment with Lisa Dailey and was able to get in a few days later. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment and was greeted by a lovely, professional sitting at the front desk. I sat for just a moment and Lisa was ready to get started a few minutes before my actual appointment. Lisa chatted with me and looked at some photo's I had on my phone. I indicated I wanted a slight change in color and she had a few suggestions. I was a little hesitant on the color change and she explained what we could do to easily make it darker if I did not like the lighter color. When all was done I was thrilled and have received many compliments. Now for more about the salon. The ambiance is peacefully. The music was playing in the background at just the right volume that you know it is there but can still carry on a conversation. At one point the music format changed and a much louder song came on and someone quickly changed the music selection. All workers were professional, there was no gossiping or negativity, all were polite and courteous. Several customers came and went while I was there and all were treated with respect during their appointment and after they left. All stylists noticed when someone was waiting and stopped to make sure they were being taken care of. I could see they worked as a team taking care of everyone who walked in the door. read more

I am new to the area and read the reviews for the Texture Room, I love and have used Aveda products for many years, so I gave them a try. First time appointment I had my roots colored. The stylist (Bree, Master Stylist) used two products in my hair and dried with a defuser. I was charged for the color and for a "Blow out"? ...I also purchased three products, shampoo, conditioner and one of the products she used before drying my hair. We talked about cutting my hair at the next appointment, and when I made my next appointment she said come with your hair styled so I can cut it dry. My second appointment I sat down and she asked what are we doing, I said roots. She mixed the color and came back to apply. I asked her how she would cut my hair and she said she didn't have time because they fit me in the schedule between appointments. She told me I could come back and have someone else cut my hair. She applied the color, her assistant washed my hair, and then she used two products on my hair and dried with a defuser. This time I was only charged for a color. So either I was over charged the first time, or under charged the second time. No standards in pricing. When I got home I looked at my receipt from my last visit and at the bottom it had this last appointment date and the service said color and cut, so she should have looked at the schedule and gave me the cut I was scheduled for. Also, I have never left a salon with color all over my face and neck, but I did this time, very disappointing. Two other items that give this salon "one star", they will not exchange or refund any products that you purchase, so I would think twice about purchasing anything at this salon, and they keep your Credit Card on file without asking your permission, which is a NO NO. read more

Just moved to Florida from Chicago and found this wonderful Salon to get my hair done. Did my homework reading yelp reviews. I was worried about getting my hair done here in Florida because I have dark hair and went blonde. I did not want white hair, or brassy hair. Called and the receptionist was very professional and told me she would set me up with Bibi to do my hair. She reassured me that I would look great. She was correct! I met Bibi and told her my concerns. She took the time to explain that just think of this as a date and getting to know each other. It may take 3 dates to get the perfect formula. I brought my formula that my hairdresser used in Chicago. She said she would try to match it with the product they used. Well it worked!! My hair was beautifully done! It only took 1 visit for her to match the formula and my hair looks great! Bibi also gave me a deep conditioner for my hair, and my hair has never felt so good! I love this place!!! First I started seeing Master Stylist/Owner Tammy for my hair, cut and color. Wonderful experience! She is a very good stylist/colorist and very sweet and bubbly. I recommended this place to my sister and good friend and they are both regular clients now. I frequently get compliments so of course I tell them where to go for a great hair experience. Today I saw Esthetician Rachel to have my brows micro bladed. After jumping through a few hoops to make certain I was a viable client (health concerns), she did the procedure this afternoon. She was so delicate and gentle I could easily have fallen asleep! It looks great and I have already referred a few admirers to her. I really do believe this salon is a hidden gem in Apollo Beach!! Since the inception of the Internet, I've yet to write a review on any site, until today. I use Yelp for everything, and have for years. I travel a lot, and recently retired and I decided to make Tampa Bay area my home. I've been procrastinating on a cut for a few weeks knowing I hate the assembly line approach at the barber shops where I leave and have to wear a hat for a few weeks because your hair looks like your head just threw up! Every guy knows that, we all talk about it...its real. 2 months ago I had my first experience in a salon. I had a bad experience and that's probably why I procrastinated for so long. I've had a military cut since I was 18, and have little experience with my hair long. Finally today I was having the humid friz thing going on. Being new in the area I went on Yelp. I read the reviews here and dialed the phone. My Yelp app showed this place as 6 miles away from MacDill, but that was as the "Crow flies. When they told me it was 45 minutes away, I said what the heck. With traffic from a construction it took about an hour. I got there a little early, and was greeted by Tammie. She sat me down to ask me my expectations It wasn't a typical experience, she actually stopped everything and had a conversation about my expectations. She then prep my hair, and for some guys like me, that's the part we're not use too. Guys, trust me you're going to love this place. Honestly, in 51 years I never had a haircut looking like something you would see in a magazine. Next time I'm going to watch what she does when she styles my hair. It's like she had magic hands or something. Seriously, when I walked up to the front desk I was shocked. Bibi is awesome, I bring pictures and describe what I want and she is so helpful. I have been going here for about 6 months and still love it. Friendly people here. I don't know what to say, but I absolutely loved this Salon. Have you ever been to a salon where no one talks to you? If you know old style retro salons the hair specialist engaged to know what you needed. This place does all that. Very nice, sweet people that treat you like a customer/ person. Amazing salon! Chelsea does such a great job coming up with new hair colors with me. She takes her time to make sure we come up with a color and cut I'll be happy with. Over the past few years of living in Apollo Beach I've tried so many salons and none of them compare to The Texture Room. Besides my hair I've slowly been trying all of their services and nothing has let me down. The facial was great and most recently I had a lash lift done. I had never had anything done on my lashes so it was a little scary at first but Rachael makes it seem like I'm with an old friend. I've been going to this salon for about six months, cut & color every 5 weeks. I had an appointment scheduled on 2/11/20 and called the week prior to reschedule. I asked if they had anything open on the 13th or 14th, I'm very flexible on time. She asked if I could do the 26th. I said "sure, that will work". I didn't received a confirmation text the day prior, so I called the morning of the 26th (2:00 appointment) and was told your appointment is 3/26/2020. No apology, didn't offer any solution, nothing. This was my first haircut while living in the Tampa area and I could not be happier. Tony is very talented and did an amazing job with my very thick, wavy hair- he was attentive and cut my hair exactly how I wanted based on a photo I showed. Everyone in the salon was warm and welcoming, and I got such a nice scalp massage during my hair washing and had my head wrapped in a warm towel. It felt luxurious, yet down to earth. Impressed! I was desperately calling around trying to get a color and cut appointment after 2 years of ignoring my hair. The Texture Room was the soonest I could. And that was still 3 weeks out. My sister referred me to this little shop in Apollo Beach. I was a little skeptical with the location but her hair looked great so I thought what the heck. When I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised to find a very modern fresh salon with beautiful decor. After chatting with Tammy for a few minutes I knew I was gonna get a Trendy Do. You have to understand, my mother is a hair dresser and we literally grew up IN a beauty salon!! I have owned a day spa and have worked in this industry for years and needless to say I was impressed, hence the YELP!! I have been back again and both times have been fantastic. After meeting all the staff, I can say they all are very creative with warm friendly personalities.
