Came in here tonight (Friday Nov 7, 2025) to try the prime rib special. I was a little thrown off by the no MC Colors sign but I could hear the band rifting Sultans of Swing so I said I will take a chance. The place was medium full and I did find a spot at the bar. The bartender was by quickly and got my drink and food order. The band just kept playing one great song after another including a unique version of Michael Jackson's Billy Jean. My side salad was out quick and it was delicious. The Prime Rib was out shortly after and that was one huge serving of prime rib mash potato's and green beans. I was at the thirsty gnome on Saturday the 29th. My bill came to a total of $51.25 according to the receipt I received. I paid an additional $40 in CASH as a tip. I check my bank account and find out the charged me $76. I have disputed this with my bank and uploaded the receipt I received as proof. It's a shame. I really liked this bar. I don't think I deserve to be treated this way, especially after leaving such a great tip for the staff. But this is deceitful and honestly disgusts me. Don't think I'll be visiting again as I cannot trust them any longer. Be sure to check your bank accounts when patronizing here. You just might have been overcharged as well. read more

What an unexpected gem! From the outside, this is just a bar but lemme tell you, the food is so much more than that! We started out with the Gnome Hats, (sorry, no pic...only eating, ha!) they were a basic fresh jalapeño popper, however, the honey on top really added a delicious sweetness that was lovely! I also got the Gnome-a-Rita, which packed a refreshing tropical but still classic margarita punch! For entrees, my hubs got the Southwest Burger which is so trenched in queso that in his words "made the bun disintegrate." This however DID NOT reduce his enjoyment of the burger, this is just an FYI if you consume it, the cheese is all encompassing and will drop, drop and cover all things in the immediate vicinity with its cheesy goodness. You've been warned. I got the stuff of dreams, but only the best dreams, the highly sought and very rarely found unicorn sandwich, the Monte Cristo...and I gotta tell you, this one did not disappoint. Did they build a beautiful sandwich, batter and fry it? NAY NAY, they built a beautiful sandwich, quartered it, bartered and fried it. Allow me to elaborate on the distinction...each one of these quarters became a beautiful quad of cheesy, warm, slightly sweet perfection. You didn't have to worry about anything sliding out of the batter or getting cold. And it had a side of apricot preserves instead of the tradition raspberry which I found wonderfully complimentary. We both found the fried to be cooked to perfection and seasoned well. And honestly, we will be back here for sure. How could we not be? I can't shut up about this sandwich! *editing to add that I don't remember the name of our server but she was lovely! She didn't hover but was there whenever we needed anything at all. She has input and definitely had excellent recommendations! She was also working her tail off both behind the bar and on the floor! The Service was ((( AMAZING ))) quick, very friendly, focused and informative. Definitely above and beyond, but not to the point of annoying. She definitely made use "first timers" to the Thirsty Gnome feel welcome. First impressions go along way toward gaining repeat customers. We will be back again and again. The service is ((( ABSOLUTELY 5 STARS ))) I'm always on the look out for a good "PorkTenderloin" I'm very happy to say I found a very good one. A true pork tenderloin, a pounded out pork tenderloin (not processed frozen ground pork that was breaded in some far away place) and it is BIG BIG BIG. The fries that came with it were HOT and delicious too. A great Bar atmosphere and exceptionally clean. Lots of good stuff on the menu to choose from. Definitely going back for another Pork Tenderloin and we already have plans to try the Friday Special Prime Rib and thinking about the Sunday Brunch too. read more

Walked in on Friday night around 545. First time here, the place is pretty big with pool tables on one side, the bar in the middle, tables for eating on the other side, there wasn't a hostess stand so we saw Chrystal and she told us we could sit anywhere. Chrystal ended up being out server for the night, she promptly greeted us and gave us our menus and took our drink order. I ordered a Yeungling on draft, they only have the lighter version Flight, not the lager, but they did have the lager in a bottle. We ordered the gnome caps (fried mushrooms) very good, not too greasy and the breading was wonderful. We both ordered the Friday night special Prime Rib, mashed potatoes, green beans with a side salad. The side salad had romaine lettuce with shredded cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots and croutons, so much better than others I have gotten elsewhere. The prime rib was cooked to perfection, the mashed potatoes are homemade with a delicious white gravy and the green beans had plenty of bacon. All in all a great experience, I would definitely go back. read more

Monte Cristo? Say what? The first time I heard this name I thought they were talking about a Chateau in the French Alps! But alas, no, they were speaking of a sandwich. But as I dug into it more deeply, I realized that it is nothing more than French toast stuffed with ham and cheese then dusted with confectionary sugar and served with apricot jam. I was skeptical! But then a post appeared in KC Northland Eateries asking about them and the name of the Thirsty Gnome came up along with some pictures. And after that poster shared their revue with the group, and with the assurance of the poster that it really was tasty! I was still skeptical! So, today I went to visit the Thirsty Gnome and to sink my teeth sandwich that others have raved about and that I still had reservations about! The others were right, and my reservations have been laid to rest! Like others have said, because of a post in this group I have tried something new, and I am happy because of it! Well done, Thirsty Gnome! Well done indeed! With no more skepticism of Mote Cristo's I am eating something new on a Friday afternoon, and life is good! read more

Wow, I love this place. The theming was hilarious, gnomes all over the place..: but with a biker bar vibe?! Yeah, kinda crazy but in the best way. Now for the real reason you come here: The Food! I think my friend said it best- "They've got someone's grandma held hostage in that kitchen!" The food was delicious, well seasoned and full of flavor without being greasy. We were a larger group so we started with The Gnome Stools and Caps (fried mushrooms and stuffed jalapeños) and then the loaded fries. Wonderful! Then we had to try the Chowder of the Day: Broccoli Cheddar. Perfectly seasoned. No need to add pepper. For our entrees, I went with the Fish and Chips (excellent batter and not much), my friend got the Chicken Fried Chicken w/ mashed potatoes in country gravy and green beans (had bacon in it, as it should!) My sister-in-law had the Ruben, which was the Thursday special with fries. It was pretty large sandwich! And my brother got the Southwest Cheeseburger with fries. Highlights: the sauces all tasted fresh/homemade. They have beer cheese sauce and queso on the menu, which... they didn't NEED to do that, but they're dedicated to craft. Love that. Any new restaurant that was opening next to Mr. Lee's was going to have to bring their A-Game and The Thirsty Gnome did NOT disappoint. read more

We absolutely loved this place! We're new to the area and decided to try them out over Thanksgiving weekend. The location is great! Our bartender, Andrea, was an absolute sweetheart. She was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere had a great vibe! We loved all of the attention to detail with everything from the very comfy bar stools with hooks on the back for coats, to phone charging outlets at the bar for customers. We arrived late so were offered chips-n-salsa and it was hands down, the BEST salsa we have ever had! So many flavors and homemade with all natural ingredients. We can't wait to go back and try the fried mushrooms! Kudos to all of the staff for a job very well done! Congrats to the owners for opening such a warm and inviting establishment! I wanted to like The Thirty Gnome, we live nearby and are always wishing for somewhere good to eat and drink. Sadly we were not super impressed. The food was okay bar food, but the service was not amazing. We arrived at 3:45PM on a Monday afternoon. and maybe shift change is why we were completely ignored by staff for 15 full mins, even tho we were the only table In the establishment other than several dudes at the bar. When the waitress finally did come by right before we gave up, she appeared poorly trained. She had clearly never heard of an 'old fashioned' cocktail, and brought my ice tea without an offer or sugar or lemon. When their version of an old fashioned did arrive for my fella, it was just whiskey on the rocks (as confirmed by the bill: "whiskey + rocks") no flavor of simple syrup or bitters. The waitress never refilled my ice tea or our kid's empty water glass or really checked on us at all, even tho we were the only customers minus the bar. I still tipped her well because we've all been new on the job once but jeeze give this employee some training! The food was just okay, at $6 for chips and salsa and $14 for chicken tenders the quality of the food didn't match the price point. Also nitpicky but annoys me: the menu font choice was terrible. Hard to read, particularly the price$. Lastly, if you are going to have sports TV with closed captioning on, there is no reason to have the TV audio also blaring, which makes for a not enjoyable dining experience if you aren't into endless sports talk and commercials. Maybe we aren't the right audience for this place, but we live less than a mile away and drink/eat out often so you'd think we would be? I hope it gets better, but we're unlikely to visit again soon. read more

Checked this place out last night with a friend. Drinks were good. Tried placing an order for gnome hats. Was told they were out so went with chicken strip instead. About 30 minutes later, the same server brought out gnome hats to the table next to us. Chicken strips lacked any flavor and I have had an upset stomach since eating them.
