But there was a family sitting on the patio and every time the waitress went outside, where we were seated it felt like we were blasted with a heater. When they walked in to leave, they mentioned that it felt the same temperature inside as it did outside. My children ordered a personal pizza off the kids menu, each, but the waitress only brought one and my husband ordered the street taco nachos, which were good and a salad, which he said was okay. We didn't say anything about the pizza, they just shared because we honestly just wanted to leave as soon as possible. They enjoyed it. I didn't order any food because the heat just made me nauseous. The waitress was nice, raved about the strawberry shortcake for dessert (tried it, none of us enjoyed it, which is unusual for my kids). Our bill was $60. In my opinion, it was overpriced for mediocre food and the feeling of 80+ degrees in the restaurant.

Our intentions were to stop here for dinner after we left the show, but everyone was too tired to stop. I was out voted and we ended up going home. After several more trips to Ohio, I made it my mission to get here. I'm glad we finally made it. The first thing I noticed when we pulled into the parking lot were the three big smokers with all of the split wood out front. When we walked inside, the restaurant is really nice, wood decor and butcher block tables, and very clean. Walking up to the register to place our order, the smokers we seen outside were on the left and they all had names. Ted, Winky, and Tiger, lol. We got to the register to place our order I told the very nice lady we have never been there so she helped us through the menu. We decided on the Judges Sampler. This dish included brisket, half slab of St Louis style ribs, pulled pork, we took the choice of chicken leg and thigh, Texas toast, and our two sides were coleslaw and corn muffins. The food was wonderful. All of the meats had a very nice smoke ring and great smoked flavor. The brisket was very moist and tender and had a perfect bark. The same with the pulled pork, you can see the wonderful smoke ring on the pulled pieces and it had incredible bark pieces mixed in. I love the little bits of the crunchy bark with the moist pork. The ribs were fantastic! I personally prefer babybacks but that wasn't an option. These were the St Louis style ribs and again, they were fantastic! Very meaty, great tasting, and easy to eat. We had a choice of chicken breast and wing, or chicken leg and thigh. We chose the leg and thigh. I loved the crispy skin and the moist smoky flavor of the meat. Chicken tends to be a little dry, but not this chicken. It was smoked perfectly! The Texas toast was good, I loved the corn muffins and the coleslaw. The coleslaw was creamy and was a vinegar based slaw. Very tasty. The absolute best thing I loved about our Barbecue was that none of the meat came out sauced. The sign of great Barbecue is served unsauced. It shows they are not trying to cover up poorly cooked food. However, they do have several different sauces available if you like. I didn't need it for our meal. I tried a taste of the original sauce, the sweet city, and the brush fire sauce. They were all very good, but like I said, I prefer my Barbecue without sauce. It's my personal choice that I like. I'm glad we were able to find the time to make it to City Barbecue in Circleville. It was a great experience, with great staff, and great food. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Ohio.

This is the absolute best place to get your bang for a buck. I mean whatever you want from a bar this place has less the drama and crappy people. The staff here is always so nice and make you feel like family. The inside and outside are decorated like an island getaway so if it's a getaway your looking for they have it or if it's a family friendly place to take the kids the Thirsty Parrot has it all. I love it here and I will recommend and always do to everyone. read more

FRESH ingredients in their food, family owned, and family friendly! I cannot think of a place I love more. The staff is always friendly and is happy to help in your meal or drink selection. Clean bathrooms. The patio out back is always a great oasis, year round! I recommend the loaded fries... but really everything is excellent. read more

It's relaxed, welcoming, and feels like a place locals probably keep to themselves. We started with something called Hillbilly Calamari, and despite the name, there's no squid involved. Instead, it's sliced banana peppers lightly breaded and fried, served with ranch. They were crispy, tangy, and had just the right little kick. A really fun and unique starter. Served with ranch dressing 9/10 But the wings absolutely stole the show. They're slow smoked first and then flash fried, which gives them a great smoky flavor while keeping the outside crispy and the inside juicy and tender. I tried two flavors -- Cody's mix which was Bourbon BBQ mixed with spicy garlic which had a great smoky flavor a sweet and savory richness with a hint of kick from the bourbon and I ordered the Spicy Garlic, which packed a bold garlicky heat that really popped. Both wings were excellent. 20/10 And of course, you can't go wrong with the fresh-cut fries on the side. Fries were good, but could have been a little crispier for my preference. 7/10 One of the coolest things about the place is the grill right behind the bar, where you can watch them as they're cooking your burger while you watch. It adds to that laid-back, old-school bar atmosphere that makes the whole experience feel authentic. Katy was are server and she was super friendly and on top of refills and kept checking on us. This is definitely a place that makes you feel comfortable and welcome. If you're anywhere near Ashville, this is definitely worth a stop. It is a family friendly atmosphere and the staff greeted me immediately when I walked in. I sat at a table and the bartender and waitress both took great care of me. Their hospitality was outstanding! I had a delicious chili cheese hot dog on a toasted bun and then ordered the house made kettle chips. I have never had potatoes cut fresh and fried on the spot. They were almost too hot to eat (almost) and the middle of the larger chips was slightly al dente so I knew they were actually cut and fried and not just heated up. I still want to try the spicy pickle fries, the potato skins, the hamburger, some of the sandwiches, and more!
