So I did some more research. The Ticket Clinic (TTC) came up in every search. I found it the low prices too good to be true, but being furloughed I didn't have much of a choice. I figured TTC might be the Walmart of law firms, but I gave it a shot and I'm so glad I did. My main concern was receiving points on my record and my insurance shooting up. For a mere $150 ($600 less than the first lawyer quoted me), TTC took care of the hearing for me an I received a "withheld adjudication." No points, and no conviction on my record. Awwww yissssss. Sweet, sweet victory, yeah. Sure, I'm still responsible for the court fees, but I expected it and that is a small consequence to endure for my illegal high speed karaoke session.
