After getting my first speeding ticket in over seven years (knock on wood), I popped into the Ticket Clinic office on Belvedere for just a couple minutes, but was told it could be done over the phone. It was easy peasy to go through them that way, and I paid the $99. The beauty of that is that it was a hectic time (Fall, holidays coming up) and this way it was pushed months down the road for a court date. I just received my email that the court date came and it was all dismissed! I was expecting to still have to pay the nearly $300 ticket, but hopefully avoid points. Recieved a speeding ticket and a no copy of registration ticket. Hired ticket clinic to handle both. I sent them my proof of registration. After 90 days, I get a email stating I owed a 120 dollar court cost. I called courts and was told ,since I decided to take said ticket to court. Then I owed court cost. If I would have just emailed the copy of registration, it would have been 10 dollar fee. So since they did not email my copy and they decided to take to court!! I am responsible to pay 10 times the amount. Total BS. I hired them to handle this. I did not know, ( AND EXPECTED THEM TO KNOW) That I could have emailed myself. Instead, they take my money and tell me , I should have known. After 10 phone calls and 10 different people,giving me 10 different reasons why. I cannot get a resolution. Never again will I use them. Use the ticket clinic a few times over the years for minor traffic tickets. They have always got the ticket dropped with no points being added to my drivers license. You do have to cover the court fees and obviously pay the ticket clinic so overall it does cost more, but not getting points is worth the $300 or so in total fees. Wish they kept you a bit more up to date on your ticket and where everything was in their system, but for the cost I am not too surprised they don't. read more

If our assigned attorney had not contacted us, we would never have had notice of the hearing. The clerk's office never notified us. The case was dismissed but still ordered to pay court costs, which amounted to the same as the original ticket. If you then added the cost of the ticket clinic, it is just not worth it. I have had to appear in court myself twice before about 10 years ago. In both cases, after I watched the ticket clinic lawyer go forward, hand the court a list of names to auto dismiss, see the magistrate review the list and pull three or four names of repeat offenders or those previous accused of DUI etc. and deny those couple people and dismiss the rest without further review; it becomes clear that this is just a scam. In both instances, after the ticket clinic's lawyer left my pre trial case, I was heard and dismissed with the same amount of effort on my part. The difference is that I paid court costs, and that was it. Fight your own case if it was a matter of speeding and / or something as minor as a lack of registration. fighting on your own = paying the cost of court. Ticket clinic = still paying the cost of court + $100 for someone to walk a paper with your name up to the magistrate on their lunch break. 30 minutes of my time is worth saving $100. read more

The Ticket Clinic caused me to miss the 30 day window I had to contest my ticket. I called them 3 times, each time asking to speak to an attorney. Each time they told me one was not available, but would call me back. No one ever did. Right before Christmas they told me my ticket had not posted in the county system, and to call back later. That was 24 days into the 30 day period. If I listened to them I would be in risk of having my license suspended for not responding to the citation. I gave them two stars because I guess it could have been worse and also, shame on me for hiring them after their first blunder: So the first time I hired them was 15 years ago when I was in my early 20s and got a DUI. The lawyer assigned to my case filed my wrong home address for probation, so I had to serve that a full county away from where I lived, and he forgot a number of other details that the judge asked for, to the point that the judge looked at me during the trial and said to my face "you should have hired a public defender; you would have been better off." Well, fast forward to last May; no good deed goes unpunished, I suppose. I was driving my friend's autistic son home from school down a residential road that is contiguous to two other roads that have 45 mph speed limits; I was not going that fast, but I was over the 25 mph speed limit that wasn't posted until halfway down the road, behind a speed trap PBSO car. I immediately started slowing down once the sign was visible, but the officer sped right out behind me, and in order to keep things as calm as possible with the child in the car, I did not question it. I later looked up a number of companies and ended up going with the popular one, the Ticket Clinic. Well, now it is September and I get a letter saying I still have to pay the ticket. They even say on their answering message that if they don't win they give you your money back, but Sandy on the phone argued with me that because I'm not technically labeled "guilty" on this case that it was considered a win to them. I guess standards are different for some and it's all about perspective. Well, lesson learned almost two decades later. This is not for a specific location. This is ticket clinic in general. In most law firms, if they are good, you are able to speak directly to an attorney about your case. With them, you will not be able to speak to your OWN attorney that will be representing your case. If you request to do so, you will just be transferred from "legal" assistant to the next until you just give up or they drop the call. read more

I could have gone to court to challenge an unjust FHP ticket myself but I didn't want to spend the time on preparation and in court (plus I get nervous). For the money the Ticket Clinic charged, it was worth having them represent me. The court case was continued once and a second appearance was this past week. The result was the ticket was dismissed and no points! Communication from the clinic is done by email. You can call them for case status, but that's about it. The guy sounded grumpy throughout the whole conversation. After I explained to him why I needed his service, he quoted me this ridiculous fee. I told him let me think about this.
