We purchased the move in clean after purchasing a new house and we were ripped off. First off, they don't provide a fixed price, only a range when scheduling appt. After asking about the sq footage and shape of house they said it would be low-mid range. Second - as soon as I walked in the house I saw dirt, dust and grim everywhere. The fans, baseboards, cupboards, curtains, floors were all to be included in the $300+ charge. We had to clean them all again ourselves as they were lightly brushed over. The house had the fake clean smell of febreeze everywhere. Third - when calling to question the bill, we were immediately threatened with a lawsuit and were hung up on by the owner. The lack of professionalism was unbelievable. After calling back again I was told that if I tried to fight it it was going to cost me more in legal fees than it was worth. This was as close to extortion as possible, with no videos or full house before/after images. If you do hire be sure to take pictures everywhere before and after or better yet set up a video to record. read more

More like the Tidy MEAN team. In all honesty, I wish I could rate lower than one star. Please read this review and save yourself from this disaster of a business!!!!!! I hired The Tidy Clean Team for a move-out cleaning on my first floor, one bedroom, 550 sq ft apartment, which I inhabit alone and which has entirely hardwood floors. I moved out all furniture and left an admittedly modest amount of dust -- as a college student, my first priority was not to schedule a regular cleaning periodically -- and so there were dust bunnies where the couch had been, for example. Skip ahead. I was given a $600 bill. That breaks down to more than a dollar for each square foot of my tiny apartment. Surely, I thought, this has to be a mistake. I called and spoke to the owner, Tracy. I should say *TRIED TO SPEAK*. The woman was irate from the beginning, making claims that mine was the worst apartment they had seen all day, that it took the longest, etc. She did NOT have a time sheet to show me, nor an itemized list, nor had she seen the place herself - one of her "girls" (using her word) had. I could barely finish a sentence. When I tried to negotiate down, she told me she would "see me in court". I had my landlord call and he was given the same response. As someone who has worked service jobs before (albeit retail, not cleaning), I've always been taught that the "customer is always right" and to give them the benefit of the doubt. I guess Tracy missed the day of work where they explained that to her. About a week went by, where I gathered advice from some older and presumably wiser sources who told me to perhaps send a "meet in the middle check" of $300 in the hopes of ending things amicably. Well, Tracy did not take kindly to that. Actually, she called me and verbally berated me. Again. At this point, the nicest word I can think of to call her is a bully. I was sobbing as she told me that she would go to small claims court and make a claim on my old apartment, thus forcing whoever the current tenant is to be evicted due to SC laws stating that when there is a "balance due" on a property, no one may live in that residence. At this point, I was beside myself. My boyfriend ended up resolving the situation, standing up to her bull, and negotiated the bill down to $400. Still far more than I should have paid. The best part?? Tracy just called me, sweet as can be, to tell me that she actually is only going to charge me $300, and that she feels so badly that she upset me to the degree that she did, she is getting me a gift card to a restaurant downtown. MORAL OF THE STORY: SAVE YOURSELF THE TEARS, TIME, AND MONEY. USE ANOTHER SERVICE. read more

My experience is almost exactly the same as Brad's. Called approximately 7 weeks ago, no visit for an estimate, only asked the sq footage, then when the bill came, I owed $130 more than the estimate. My stove was out of position, a hand blown oil lamp was broken and I was given $20 for it, a light bulb was missing from my LR overhead light. The master bath toilet has a seat and lid that slowly closes by itself, but no longer does that. Cob webs and dirty baseboards were rampant. There were only excuses, no responsibility and were very condescending.I am a senior citizen and had been in ill health for 2 years and hoped to be able to get on my feet in my own house with a clean start. That did not happen. I was paid a visit after my complaints and was talked into using them a 2nd time. I did agree and received the same service as the first. A promise was made to finish the services not made the first time, cobwebs, baseboards, lighttbulbs, etc. None of this has been done to date. After the 2nd visit, I sent a text because I was furious. They told me they did not receive texts on their land line which was strange because I was told that the phone number was the gentleman's cell. I made phone call which were answered and then hung up. No answers to my texts, especially one made on May 4th when I said that their services were no longer needed. Even though I had asked for the return of my key, they came back two weeks later and did another half done job. I always had to replace furniture to it's place and the items on furniture. I had certainly not prepped for a visit No dog toys off of the floor and I had left my dogs in the house. I have no idea how they treated my dogs. I'd left dirty laundry on the floor in my bedrroom which woul not have happened if I'd expected them. My belief is that the girls that work for them are pressed to do the work within a certain amount of time so they can get to the next job. Therefore a hurried and incomplete job is the result. It's strange that they mention the BBB because I found no evidence of their business on the BBB website. None what so ever. read more

Had a very similar experience to the one other reviewer on this company. Hired to clean my daughters apartment in Charleston. She was home in NJ when they were contracted. All communications took place with my daughter via phone calls and she was quoted a price. They would not do the work without a credit card # from someone out of state (understandable) and one was provided to them. After a pretty poor job of cleaning,from what I have been told, the charge to the credit card came in $100 more than was quoted. After numerous unanswered calls, I finally spoke to someone who said the additional cost was authorized. Strange, because I can verify that there was no one there when they cleaned, and my daughter, the one who provided the credit card and scheduled the work, was never contacted. I was promised a call back to sort this out and that call has yet to come. Also, over the last few days, I noticed that the company name had been changed to the Tidy Clean Team, perhaps to distance themselves from the seemingly unethical practices and the from the poor services they provided as Two Ladies and a Mop. read more
