This place is alright. It can be hard to find a salesperson but once you do they are very helpful. They have an absolutely huge selection but unfortunately most of it is from China. The absolute best part of this place are all the bathroom display vignettes that they have along the perimeter. I have done tile work for over 30 years, and you know when 'some' sales associate, manager, or even senior management from other places try to B.S. you. This is not the case of The Tile Shop at Wolf Road. These people know what they are talking about. There is never pressure to sell you something. They tell you as it is and they are very knowledgeable. What's best of the Tile Shop is their excellent and always willing to help staff. Renee & Kyra are spectacular. I would also give kudos to Kurt the manager but he doesn't need them (JK). Everyone is very helpful. Oh, and returns, easy! no questions ask. I have been to many other tile places and even one 'high end' in central ave. What's worse about them is that they don't care. The Tile Shop does! One last thing, the quality is extremely superior. Keep up the good work! If I'm happy with this service, I'll keep coming, and next time, I'll bring food for the people that like food! read more

Customer service is appalling! I purchased tile from The Tile Shop and had it installed in my powder room, which gets minimal foot traffic and within 6-8 months multiple tiles are chipped. I have tiles in my mudroom that are 20+ years old that look better. I reached out to the Albany store multiple times, the store manager never returned my calls as promised and I finally spoke to Asst. Manager, Albert. Albert offered me a full refund, and then he spoke to the regional manager, Eric Barr, who rescinded the offer to refund anything. I reached out to Eric Barr directly. Despite multiple phone messages and emails he made no attempt to contact me back. I finally was able to speak with him and to say he was condescending and rude is an understatement. Before I spoke with Eric, I contacted the tile brand customer service team where I was informed that they had switched manufacturers from the British Ceramic Tile company (which is the name on the back of my tiles) to The Tile Giant because the quality was not being adequately controlled by the former. This is a tile with known defects so significant it caused the company to change manufacturers and yet The Tile Shop continued to sell stock from the previous manufacturer that is known to be defective. Eric still refuses to give me a refund. Eric Barr blames the brand switching manufacturers on Covid-19 (when the manufacturing change occurred in 2019 well before Covid) and refuses to believe what the brand had informed me about the quality of the tiles. It is completely unacceptable that I have spent thousands on a bathroom renovation which will need to be redone and to receive this kind of customer service makes it so much worse. read more

This business targets the high end market. They only sell tile (and accessories), no other flooring, and their prices seem to range from $8/sqft to $20+/sqft. Most of their inventory is in the $12-$15 range. Around 1/3 of their inventory seems to be marble. Their showroom is fantastic. Every wall is lined with gorgeous displays... kitchens, bathrooms, showers, each created with hand-laid tile. Their inventory is organized by material and then color, with examples of every tile right in front of you to view. I was the only customer in the store, and there were about 4 salesmen available to answer questions. They came right over to me as I walked in, in a "salesmany" fashion, but then let me browse and leave as I wanted without interruption. I'm not the target audience for this store, given the prices, but I'll probably be back with friends to get ideas, and if I were in their target market, I'd be going there often. They just opened, and I hope they do well... it's obvious they put a lot of time and money into renovating and setting up the place. read more

I can't say enough good things about This place! The manager Kurt is so knowledgeable an professional and he is so pleasant to work with. He goes over and above to make sure that you get what you like and takes the time to help you plan out your design. I had been to three other tile stores before a friend recommend The Tile Shop and Kurt ... I was feeling completely frustrated and overwhelmed by the time I got to The Tile Shop and in one afternoon Kurt not only helped me design my first bathroom makeover he gave me great ideas for my other bathrooms as well. I look forward to doing my other three bathrooms with his help knowing that I Will be working with someone who still believes the customer comes first! read more

Warning: we haven't bought anything from these folks, yet. But the initial experience was such a relief... ...we have several tile projects that are way overdue. In part because the local business we'd used, at our contractors' insistence, for tile thus far have very restricted hours and fairly limited (it turns out!) selection; the sales folks have been both arrogant and intrusive while simultaneously unavailable. Ahem. So - we decided to give this place a shot instead, having finally garnered the courage to go tile shopping again. The expected 4-hour nightmare was a 30-min joy: a salesperson (Jamie) approached 5 min in and was attentive - actually listened well - and knowledgeable; the selection available included (sadly) not everything that we wanted, but far more than we expected. We left smiling, almost giddy with relief. Give 'em a shot. read more

Not going to lie, it's pricey...BUT the selection is insane. We've been looking at Home Depot and Lowe's for weeks and were consistently disappointed with the options. Stopped in here and within 20 min, found exactly what we had been looking for. Staff was great, super helpful and accommodating. We unfortunately waited too long to get tile for our kitchen remodel, but luckily enough they had both tile and backsplash in stock so we didn't have to wait to order. They have lots of displays which can help put things into perspective. read more

We have worked with the tile shop to renovate 3 bathrooms now. First the good: the floor staff is courteous, helpful in tile choice, and eager to please without being too pushy in completing a sale. Every time we have been to the store, we have been helped within 5 minutes of wandering the store. Tile selection is also very wide. Now the bad: being a new store means that there really isn't much in the way of a "seasoned" veteran tile salesman - so if you do decide to buy at a new Tile Shop (as we have) be sure to come as educated as possible, especially if this is your first experience with tile choice. I say this, because the staff at the Tile Shop needs to learn the ins and outs of lots of the product they sell. They may not know which tile is best for water contact surfaces or which one is going to be less resistant to scratching; they may not know even general installation practices. So... with that said, come with your dimensions and minimally watch a youtube video on tiling before you show up to know which questions to ask. Now the ugly (and the reason behind the 2 stars) - if you talk to management at the Tile Shop, they will 110% back their "product" under all instances. So, if any of your tile arrives broken (which it does - from experience) be ready to listen as to why that is your fault. Management stated to me that it was my fault that we discovered tile was broken (small hairline cracks) while the contractors were unwrapping the tile from its plastic wrap and that we should have unwrapped and inspected every piece of tile individually in order to keep this from being an emergency. Keep in mind that this ornamental tile was tightly wrapped and small cracks were nearly invisible upon an initial inspection on arrival. So, in a nutshell, if you choose to do business with the Tile Shop, be ready for a very hands-on experience. You serve as Quality Assurance for them, because they will send you broken tile (the manager indicated that customer inspection is noted on their bill of sale). So, if you are generally OK with inspecting 3000 lbs + of tile by hand, then by all means. read more

First the show room is quite nice. Good selection of tile and variety etc. but it all goes down hill from there. Place honestly is terrible. Just moved to area and have a very large project I am working on. Came here for the variety of items. We ordered basic floor tile and subway tile from them for a small bathroom. Cost was INSANE! Got the product and was shocked about the quality. Below Home Depot and 4 times the price. Took almost 10 days to get a basic product. Ended up cancelling the subway tile S found it for much less. Then the nightmare started. Tried to work with them for 5 weeks to get issued a refund for the cancelled order. Got passed around to every person in the store. Not sure it's 100% resolved still 2.5 months later but have given up. Staff is really not that friendly. Management didn't return my calls for weeks. Finally got the manager and he was efficient and friendly enough but didn't follow through on what he said he would do. Honestly order online and save yourself the hassle. The products are much much higher than need to be. read more

Stay away!! I spent over 2K for tile - many were inferior quality or broken. Many from the same batch were not uniform or consistent. Had to go back 6x and it was 5 weeks before my complete order arrived. I was assured it would only take a week. They offer NO customer service and I dealt with an Assistant Manager as the Manager was never available. I had to pay shipping from their warehouse!! read more

This was our first project, and we were immediately impressed with the selection of tile. What made this a truly satisfactory experience, however, was our salesperson, Joell. Her knowledge and professionalism helped us make tile and backsplash selections that turned out beautifully. More importantly, Joell's commitment to customer service, before and after the sale, made this a stand out experience. Our project was not that large, but Joell made us feel like we were her biggest customer. We are already planning a new project, and will insist on working with Joell. read more

Sales person was great, products were excellent. We were told to buy extra supplies "just to be safe" and that we could always return what our contractor didn't use, no time limit. Well, we finally got around to returning the excess supplies, only to be informed that there was a 3 month time limit to return items. As anyone who's done renovations knows, renovations can take a lot of time to complete and the date when they will be finished is never exact. So, although we spent in excess of $6,000. on their products, the Tile shop would not give us a refund of approximately $200. for excess supplies that were never used. This is absolutely ridiculous and really bad business practice. We were misled when we were purchasing their products. We will definitely not shop there again. They are liars and crooks. read more
