We took a road trip and landed here for an early dinner as it looked interesting and quite busy. It was a good place with a varied American menu. I had the bbq burger and my husband had a brat served sliced burger style. We both had fries which were excellent. My burger was a massive 1/2 pounder and it was good. Good atmosphere. Fortunately, one friend thought ahead to make the 6:45p reservations, because we were seated right away while many had to wait quite a while. Food was all very good, no complaints from anyone. Been there several times, never a bad experience, but today was a different story. Ordered my food to go at the front desk, and there was 3 zombies standing at the front desk, zero personality, and the very large manager (as in fat ass) was just sitting at a table behind them not paying attention to customers. Had to get their attention, then got my food to go, got to my destination, and no utensils or napkins. I called and said something to the manager how 3 people could touch the bags but not check to see if there were any utensils, then she told me it's up to the customer to ask for it!!!! I said those bone heads at the front desk were an obvious reflection of her fat ass. NEVER AGAIN will I spend a dime there, and I WILL spread the word around town. read more

The food has Tom's heart pouring into the flavor so no one can complain about that. I can say my first time there I was with just my daughter during the early evening. When you walk in, there is family oriented seating to your right and then bar seating and tables on the bar side to your left. First, time we (mom & daughter coming to have bonding time) were seated next to a loud party of 10 on the bar side. This was my first time here and I didn't want to be a snoot but there was still plenty of seating on the other side. So we sat where we were placed. I don't remember what I ate, I was more distracted with the fact that we didn't get to talk because they/we were so incompatible with each other's company. Second time, we were a party of 5 with 2 adults, 2 babies, and an 11yr old. We were sat on the bar side again. Which this time only had a party of two that seemed to be having a date. There was still seating on the family side and I felt like our family dining was ruining their vibe. They kept looking up every time there was some sort of major distraction from hat you probably don't want to think about on a first date like; 'oh my gosh am I going to have to tip extra when I have babies that throw the crap they don't want to eat on the floor' (I just gave them a subtle nod and smile indicating yes, they will). I do know we had the mozzarella chips with the most amazing marinara!!!, and spinach artichoke dip that was delicious! The rest of the meal I was really more concerned with feeling like we were ruining a date. Were going back this next week with another party and I'm really hoping we can enjoy our own experience and not feel like our misplaced seating is interrupting or ever ridden by someone else's experience. read more

I really love downtown Washington because it has an old school feel to it. The buildings are all older brick buildings, and they have a lot of yummy restaurants to try. I have to say, the Tilted Skillet was delicious! Wait staff was very friendly and attentive, always kept our drinks full and made sure we didn't need anything. We started out the meal with the spinach dip with pita chips and it was great! Creamy and rich and flavorful. I ended up having the chicken meatball sandwich, which consisted of chipotle honey glazed meatballs on a hoagie roll with Swiss cheese and house made marinara. The reason I left off a star is because I feel like the chipotle really overpowered the sandwich. While good, all you could really taste was the spiciness. And that's saying a lot because I love spicy! My parents had the New York strip and the seafood stuffed chicken and they both loved it! Soup of the Day was off the chart delicious. My chicken wrap was very good as wraps usually are. My side of onion rings were excellent. Hubby enjoyed his brisket sandwich however I tasted the brisket and it seemed dry to me. Side of fresh veggies was delicious. Good service even tho they were busy. Will return when we again visit Washington to try different menu items... but I will always have their soup! Yum! read more

My boys and I were looking for somewhere to eat after their HS volleyball games last night. I turned to Yelp and came across the Tilted Skillet and it looked like it was worth a shot before driving back to Lake St Louis. Our server (Brittany) was very cheerful and took good care of us. We had hot wings, House burger, Naked Burger and the Meat Lovers pizza. We brought home leftovers. We will definitely go back because I think we need to try the T-Rav pizza! read more

Hard to find something wrong here! Was expecting a long wait time at prime dinner time on a Saturday night but only waited a short time. I've been there before where the food has been delicious - which is why I keep going back, hoping that it's going to be one of those times where the food tastes great. Went with another couple, had a good experience, decided to return with 7. The kitchen only cooked 6 meals, they forgot the 7th. They told the 7th person they would box it to go. They were not going to comp the meal until we talked to the general manager. One of the meals was not warm at all. They don't appear to be able to adequately handle parties bigger than 4. read more
