Celebrated a birthday here not too long back. Wait staff was excellent and the reservation on a busy Saturday evening was held and only 2-3 minutes behind the booking time for bussing. We were spending the weekend in Washington for a special occasion. We had dinner here and will never go back. The service was horrible. When we arrived we went to the bar for drinks. The bartender acknowledged us but told us she wasn't the one serving us. We waited roughly 10 minutes to get drinks. When we moved to our table, she was also our waitress. It was a constant wait for everything. She spent most of her time socializing behind the bar. We ordered the carpaccio as an appetizer. It came out over seared which they did immediately bring a new one that was prepared properly. We also ordered the Prime Rib special. It came out well done and rubbery. We we're excited to try The Tilted Skillet as their food looks amazing on the website but, we were treated so rudely by the manager, Chris, we got up from our table and left. coming from a group of women who go with the flow and never complain, this is saying something. Not only was he rude, he was condescending and arrogant. Unfortunately, due to the horrible service by one person, we left and didn't get a chance to try the food. We will not be back either. We usually have a great experience and tonight it wasn't. Service is always great and the food (kitchen) wasn't. Tonight hair in my food (wasn't mine as I had my hair pulled back) and gluten free bun on sandwich was extremely hard (obviously stale). I complained as I never have before and got a $2 discount. This was not an acceptable so I asked for a manager and was told I would get 50% off my meal ($7) . I'm hoping this doesn't continue. First time visit and WOW! You walk in and right away you know your going to enjoy a casual relaxing meal. I had the chopped salad with green goddess dressing and the sidewinder fries. Lettuce was crisp and the toppings were plentiful and fresh. I am a fan of green goddess dressing, but this was wonderfully different. Fries were tasty and seasoned perfectly. Hubs had the turkey meatball sub with scalloped potatoes. The meatballs were obviously homemade and delicious, as were the potatoes. He said they were the best he has ever had. Not often I give 5 stars these days. The Tilted Skillet is worth every star. Going out for dinner Saturday night is usually a horrible experience, long waits, super crowded we all know the experiences. What a pleasant surprise we had, yes they were busy, yes they were crowded as any good place should be. The staff were very professional friendly and accommodating. Our wait was shorter than expected. Our waitress was just superb, she was incredibly busy, yet gave us great attention and took excellent care of us. The food was delicious, their soup, salads, starters of pork potstickers and stuffed mushrooms all SUPERB!! The main courses equally delicious, perfect portions and excellent ingredients Hard to fault in any level, definitely will be back!!! read more

A bit overpriced for bar food. The wings were not my favorite. The salad was good, but not worth $15 for sure. The burger was overcooked. The service was just okay. It wasn't awful, but definitely nothing great. Also, the bathrooms were pretty gross. Our check took a while after we gave the credit card. Arguably, the "house" burger is one of the best burgers I've ever had! You need to come and taste for yourself. The rosemary-parmesan chips were yummy (could have been a little heavier on the rosemary) so I decided to go for the dessert. My hubby and I shared the peaches and cream and it was delightful! Delicious food, Kyle was a wonderful waiter. Had Tomato Bisque and a Smoked Turkey Reuben. The bisque was slightly chunky and obviously homemade. The Reuben was HUGE and the homemade thousand island dressing had a bit of spice. The only reason I gave 4 stars is the walls were spotted with food and the woodwork was dusty. Great menu, attentive service. We shared a salad- a nice mix of spring greens, crispy croutons, cherry tomatoes, cheese, and a light balsamic. Our waitress helped me settle on the walleye- huge portion, best tartar sauce ever, although I enjoyed with malt vinegar. I have mixed feelings about this jewel in the middle of nowhere. We waited for 45 minutes for a table on a Thursday, but the staff was so friendly and accommodating. We assumed it's because #1 It might be the only place in town #2 people like it because it's GOOD! After being seated we ordered 2 adult meals and 2 kids meals. The salads were the stars, I got the Cobb and my husband ordered the house - truly wonderful/fresh/filling/delicious! The po-boy was hot and fresh! I probably wouldn't order the kids meals again: my son's pizza was soft (almost raw), I would have cooked it for 5-8 more minutes. My daughter's chicken nuggets were over cooked and strangely grey? I ended up giving her the chicken on my salad (golden on the outside and white on the inside) because hers had a strange color/flavor (dark brown on the outside and grey on the inside). Went there with our 7 and 5 year old kids. The bbq chicken and bratwurst burger were wonderful as were the fried pickles. Service was good and I felt the prices were very reasonable. Certainly get the fried pickles if you like bread and butter pickles. For $5 you get a huge basket that appears to be an entire jar of fried pickles. My bratwurst burger was the best thing we got. It is their house recipe and is like a bratwurst without a casing formed into a patty. It is clearly made from superior cuts of pork compared to most bratwurst and was great. This place is so inconsistent and after the last meal i will never return, they had veal and fish on special. I had the veal and my wife had the fish. The fish stunk to high heaven, it was dry and had a weird taste to it. The veal was like rolled in a ball, was extremely tough/chewy (like gum) and this also tasted a bit off. It looked like it was frozen and went right to the pan. paid well over $80 and the server knew we did not like and received no compensation at all. The Tilted Skillet has easily become one of my family's favorite restaurants! Everything we've ordered here has been excellent aside from the pizza. It's not bad, just not my thing! Some of the best fried shrimp, salads, burgers, and chicken wings! I literally go back and look at photos of their wings here and there and reminisce. My favorite so far are the honey chipotle! Their dressings have to be homemade! The ranch is so delicious and flavorful. I also really enjoyed their ghost burger. It was packed with flavor, some heat, and the sweet ancho peach jam took my tastebuds to flavor town. Typically we don't make reservations but we got there just before 5:00 on a Saturday and they were almost full. I would recommend a reservation on the weekend. Every waitress and hostess that we've interacted with is kind and helpful. You can tell they enjoy their job and are happy to be there. If you're looking for a great new spot this place is it!
