Avoid like the plague! Consumer alert! Tourist trap of the worst kind. My father in law bought a $45 snorkel set from them. Granted we didn't expect a lot but we did expect it to work. We also chose this place thinking it would be higher quality vs Walmart. Anyway, made the purchase and went straight to the beach and it didn't work at all. Thank goodness my granddaughter didn't use it. Essentially defective from the manufacturer. He went back to return it for a new one and the employee, immediately started arguing with him, citing the small print on the receipt. Sure everyone reads the small print at a place like this. In short, they don't accept returns on any merchandise that has a manufactures warranty or a several other reasons. The clerk proceeded to show him the fine print on the receipt. (See photo) Seriously, you buy this overpriced crap and it doesn't work& you won't al least replace it that's just wrong. Fortunately, my father in law through enough of a fit the guy (other customers were watching) finally told him to get another and leave. Blue Water would receive a 5 star from me but unfortuently EVERY SINGLE TIME I go in, (And it's a couple days a week) I get the rudest customer service from the clerk at the front named Lisa. Lordly, she is the most unprofessional, unfriendly person, argues about anything and everything and NEVER can just be nice. If you hate your job that much then why work there anymore. During my visit, none of the staff were wearing masks or gloves. I find it very irresponsible for them to not follow the emergency declaration from the city of PSJ and health guidelines from CDC and WHO. The PSJ emergency declaration which went into affect July 27th states, "Every operator, employee, customer or patron of a business establishment located within the city limits of Port Saint Joe, Florida is required to wear a face mask or covering at all times while at the business establishment unless he or she is able to engage in social distancing." Today he was able to get my name changed with the state for my fishing license. This has been attempted by others for the past 5 years, unsuccessfully, but Pedro was able to make it happen. We have been visiting port saint joe and cape San blas for 12 years. Every year we look forward to going into bluewater. They have always been nice and helpful to us. Their assortment of fishing tackle is awesome. My wife enjoys looking at all the cloths they have. To all the mask wearing people.... the staff does not wear them and they don't require anyone else to. So if you feel it necessary to wear one you are welcome to, but don't get butt hurt and write bad reviews about a store because they don't follow your same line of thinking. read more

They're the only place in Port St. Joe and Mexico Beach with good goggles. They also have everything you need for snorkeling, fishing, and many other water sports. They have a small selection of clothing...t-shirts, shorts, etc, and a large selection of higher end beach footwear. They have a large selection of moderately priced sunglasses as well as a good variety of the pricey brands. In general, their prices are good, especially since they are the only player on the block!
