This was our first time here, and I'll admit I was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews. However, Google had a lot of good ones, so we decided to check it out. Apparently they have a new menu, and there were lots of great things to choose from. Burgers, wings, steak, wraps, millions of appetizers, and yummy salads. I had the steak and it was very good. I got the potato wedges (can't think of their name) and they were extra yummy. My salad was full of cheese, bacon bits, all the usual stuff and croutons. The best part of all of this was the price. The prices are some of the lowest around. And I thought the food was good. It was karaoke night. Some people.... not so good. But the music was good. If I'm ever back in the area, we will definitely cone back. Good food, atmosphere, drinks, service, and prices. Highly recommend. read more

We came here as a party of 2 by a recommendation of a family member. We saw that on Saturday nights they either have a live band or karaoke. When we arrived, we saw there was a one way road with slanted parking and were able to find parking fairly easily. When we walked in, we saw it was pretty crowded and we were unsure if we could sit ourselves or if we had to wait to be seated. We ended up seating ourselves in the back tables where there were open chairs. When we sat down, there was no menu or place to scan to view the menu, only a QR code to sign up to sing karaoke. Once we saw a group leave the bar area, we moved to sit at the bar. Tonight ended up being karaoke night and the crowd was all mid-aged to older people. This place seems like a local type location as many of the patrons seemed to know the staff on a personable level. When we arrived at 8:30pm, it was packed and then died down about 9:30pm. I did overhear a staff member mentioned that it would pick back up again at 10:30pm. Once at the bar, we did not see any staff, but eventually a staff member arrived. She had been outside helped a patron who had hurt themselves outside. She was quick to get our drink orders and put in our food order. We ordered 2 breakfast shots, 2 miller lite, and 2 dirty Shirley's. I did not see any drink special menus so I went with my go to drink and it tasted good. We ordered the loaded fries and it took about 20 minutes to come out. When they arrived, I was already disappointed because the fries were crispy with melted shredded cheese and very little bacon pieces. Loaded truly just meant the bare minimum added on top of the fries. We asked for ranch to go with the fries and I did enjoy the ranch. I didn't end up eating about half the fries bc they were way too crispy to be enjoyable. I will say I did not have any of the other food items, so I only have this small window to base my food experience on. I only saw 3 staff members total throughout the night. A male cook and 2 female bartenders/waitresses. When we got the check, I was not sure how the prices were going to look like since we never saw a menu. It was a very reasonable priced. Overall, not the worst experience, but as someone not from the area, I would not come back again unless for a special event. read more

Late brunch on a Saturday. We were in Chapin shopping and heard about their great burgers. It is a bar setting with high tables and bar stools. The bar, dining area and restrooms were all clean. There were only a few patrons when we arrived, but customers were arriving as we were finishing. We were promptly waited on and the food arrived promptly. The hamburgers were large and dressed with mayonnaise, mustard, lettuce, tomato and onions. I had wing chips and my wife had sidewinders (curly potatoes). Everything was fresh and tasty. We'll go back next time we are in Chapin. read more

Take out wings...usually best in town. Wife ordered raw fries and they "entered" seasoned fries(not near enough for family) and no extra sauce as requested. No biggie. No total given over the phone and prices were I'm guessing somewhat spot on. Felt rushed out the door. My mistake for not checking on the order. I've only been here once and I'm too scared to go back. The bartender was so extremely rude, I think she might also be the owner. We went in to get food and drinks, but after the way she treated us getting the drinks we decided not to order. We waited for 45 minutes trying to get her to close us out, but we had to find another server and ask her to do it. read more

Tipsy isn't the biggest place and it was not even crowded when we visited. Waited 25min for drinks when we approached the bar and asked if we order at the bar or if we have a server we got a real attitude from the bartender saying that they were busy (they weren't) and that we already have a waitress. Then it took over an hour to get our food. When the food arrived is was not warm and my mother in law ordered the filet tips "medium" they came out like beef jerky. We said something about it and our waitress said she would "take care of it". She took a $4 beer off our check, we said absolutely not. The filet tips were $20 and she had taken half a bite. Bad service, long waits and food was very sub par. Will not be returning. read more

Food wasn't bad. Service wasn't bad. But bill was pretty pricey for a date night. Tequila sunrise was way to strong. The rest is the drinks weren't bad. We ordered 2 appetizers, one meal and 5 drinks and it was $80. Small drinks. I felt it was pricey. Probably cheaper if you just eat and not drink. Alcoholics have it expensive. Food was very good and reasonably priced. They even offered White Claw Hard Seltzer, which is hard to find in a restaurant. We had the pretzel appetizer which was awesome. We also had the Southwest Salad, Buffalo Chicken Wrap with sweet potato fries, and Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, all really really delicious. Probably the best sweet potato fries I've ever had. I was in a rush to get lunch on a Friday and the Toad is less than a block from me. I was told my hamburger steak, sauteed veggies and mashed potatoes would be ready in about ten minutes. I got tied up on a call so I was late picking up my lunch - they had about 30 minutes to get it ready. When I arrived I had to wait ANOTHER TEN MINUTES for the food after being told it was ready and paying the barmaid. The veggies were sauteed in very salty soy sauce, so salty I had to shake the veggies off. Some of the veggies were also burned. The hamburger steak was OK, but it had some burned edges and was a bit undercooked, I'm guessing it was cooked from frozen. The mashed potatoes were actually pretty good. read more

Food was inedible. Put it in a to go box box and threw It in trash can on the way out the door. Teriyaki toad chicken bites were so salty could not eat and onion petals were floppy not crispy. I'm in a long term relationship. It's with a man named Brent Amick. He's from Chapin m. We've been to Chapin together many times and EVERY time we go I beg him to take me to the frog bar. FINALLY after two and half years we went with another couple friend of ours on the Saturday of the 4th of July weekend. Keep in mind they close at 2:30, but we went in at 11:00 pm, and they told us they had been slow because of the fireworks and were closing down...even though the fireworks had recently ended (which means people were just being released from their familial obligations and would likely need a drink) and two of the people in the bar had full drinks! After two and half years I had finally made it to the frog bar and they denied me. My heart is broken and cannot be mended. Truly a major disappointment. I will never return. read more

Tipsy Toad, Chapin, SC. Probably the worst night out experience I've ever had. The wait staff, collectively, were the rudest, most incompetent group of bar/restaurant employees I have ever had. Start to finish, it took two hours to be served two drinks and three appetizers. After waiting one hour for three appetizers to be served, our waitress reappeared to say that one of the orders had been improperly prepared, yet no one at our table had been served. After waiting an additional 20 minutes, the waitress threw the order down on the table and dashed off again, no silverware, napkins, etc. When my son tried to close out a bar tab, the bar tender literally shouted, "You'll just have to wait!" The entire experience, start to finish was an absolute Cluster #@!%! It was chaotic, infuriating and very stressful. If it were possible to give The Tipsy Toad, Chapin, SC, negative star ratings, I certainly would. Do yourself a favor. Save yourself the trouble and aggravation. Stay away! read more

This restaurant is not the place to go. We waited over an hour for half our food to be brought out. The restaurant only had one employee serving ten tables. Half of our order was brought out incorrectly and we had to send it back multiple times to get it corrected. We will never be coming back to this restaurant. Do not go there for lunch!!! One waitress and I am guessing one cook. We were there for an hour before getting our food. The chips were greasy, soggy and almost raw. It wasn't that busy but obviously too busy for the staff that was working. Our server was friendly and tried to be accommodating but was overwhelmed. If you want to open for lunch, provide adequate staff. read more

This is a local hangout for sure. The food was outstanding. (Shepherds pie, Filet tips, pretzel app, sweet potato fries). Patio is very pretty and is Dog friendly but mostly for smokers which didn't bother us too much at an early dinner time. Incredibly friendly locals were very welcoming to us as visitors. read more

I would not go here again. The kitchen closes early. The waitress took four shots and was extremely rude to us. There was a roach crawling up the wall right by us but she was too busy drinking to notice that we were trying to get her attention. Their website said they were open until 2 AM but they kicked us out at 12:30. Better going off to Columbia. read more
