I went here today at THE TIRE STORE at around 9:30 AM because when I called, the person who answered my call, I think it's Chad, he said it's gonna be first come first serve. So I went ahead and when I arrived at the shop there was only one ahead of me and I asked the mechanic and he said its gonna take 1 hr for me to wait then he can attend to me, then suddenly several vehicles arrived and were attended by the mechanic who does alignment. I asked him what happened and he just said I don't know, things just happened? Seriously??? What a mediocre answer, I waited more than two hrs already and this is the answer I would be getting "he doesn't know? ", He promised I will only wait one hour, maybe it's true if he didn't attend to other vehicles who arrived later than me. This is one of the worst shop I've ever visited here in Antelope valley. I will never come here again. Full of mediocrity and worse customer service. read more

Women beware!! These guys take advantage when you are alone. I went in to get a patch and they charged me $25. I knew it was high but what am I gonna do not pay? I paid the guy and tipped the one who actually did the patch so it came up to $30. Then my husband went to get his patched also and they only charged him $15. I would like to express my high satisfaction with the employee's efficiency. Previously my husband had gone to the tire store to get quoted and ordered my vehicle's tires. My husband has been a customer for years and he's always happy with their work. My vehicle tires came in a couple of days later. A front desk gentleman named James with cool hair helped me. I would usually just fill my tire up with air and I finally decided that I was tired of filling it up. So I came here and as soon as I pulled up they took my car in right away! They got to work right away and I absolutely love that they are taking initiative and have hard working employees. I came in for a used tire. I was told that I needed an alignment. I asked them how much it would be and they said about $45. They do the alignment and then it turns out they charged me $75. They give me crap about this is the price this is always the price and do nothing to address the fact that I was told by the representative it would be $45 for the alignment. Price was cheaper than 2 other places I'd called and was able to walk in during the afternoon without an appointment to have my noisy brakes evaluated for service (over 100,000 miles still with original brakes). I was told brake pads front and back were needed but only new rotors were required in back. Appreciated their honest assessment and extremely fast service completed within about an hour while waiting. Brakes work great now without noise! Guaranteed for 1 year, 12,000 miles. I wasn't going to leave a review, but after reading some of the other reviews similar to my experience, I felt like I should. I needed a front-end alignment and wasn't looking to spend a lot on money since my car isn't worth much. Someone recommended the Tire Store. $40 front-end alignment compared to $100 from almost everyone else. I called to see if they accepted appointments since I would take time off work to get it done. The man who answered rudely replied, "first come, first serve," *click*. I went ahead, took time off work, and gave them a shot anyway. The place was busy. I walked into the front office and asked if I could get a front-end alignment. The man pointed over to the corner and said, "Talk to so and so" in the alignment building. Weird, but okay. As I walked to the alignment area, I expected to see state-of-the-art laser alignment racks and computers. Nope, it looked like it was some simple-looking device probably from 35 years ago. I walked into the alignment bay and talked to so and so. He stated it would be about a 60 to 90 min wait. I was like, okay, gave him the keys, and went back to the office. An hour passed, two hours passed, still, my car was sitting in the parking lot. After about two and a half hours of sitting around, I finally see my car pull into the pre-historic alignment shop. The car sat there for about 30 minutes, and it was finally pulled out and parked back in the same spot. I said to myself, "finally." I get called up to the desk and handed a bill for hundreds of dollars. The man at the desk said, "we can't do that alignment until all these items are fixed. If you have a problem, talk to so and so in alignment." First, the front desk man deflected any questions I had. Typically, in a good shop, the front desk/service advisor answers all questions related to the customer's vehicles. I waited over 3 hours to tell me they couldn't do the alignment. This was the most upsetting. They could have stated before I agreed to the alignment, "if we find anything wrong with the vehicle, we can't do the alignment" I would have kindly asked for the keys back and been on my way. I wasted three hours and my time off to sit in their waiting room just for them to tell me too bad. They could simply make appointments so people won't waste their time. I've been working on cars for over 21 years, so I'm no spring chicken. When I saw the bill and what the car needed, I was like, "no way." I needed all this work done just for the alignment guy to break two bolts, twist two tie rods a few turns, and tighten said bolts??? Boom, toe set. I ended up getting the vehicle on the lift having a professional mechanic look at it. He advised one of the control arm bushings was bad. Fifty bucks for part compared hundreds quoted from the TIRE STORE. I ended up getting DIY alignment plates from eBay for 40 dollars and did the toe adjust myself. The tire store is a complete ripoff, and they will try to take every penny from you. Lucky, I know enough about cars not to be ripped off. Maybe if you spent hundreds of dollars on new tires, they might be more willing to do the alignment. But strictly for alignments, avoid this place like the Omicron variant. read more

I visited The Tire Store on Sierra Hwy on Friday, January 7, 2022, to have an alignment done on my 2018 GMC Yukon. My Yukon was taken in by an alignment technician (named Mike I believe). Approximately 30 minutes later, the tech tells me that he cannot do an alignment on my vehicle because it needs new tie rods because they are worn. Unfortunately for Mike, he couldn't pull the wool over my eyes because I do most of my own work on my cars and am very mechanically inclined. I was suspicious of Mikes claim and reviewed the invoice quote he was holding. He wrote a quote for 2 new tie rods, installation labor, and alignment which would cost me $222. I asked for a copy of the quote and was told he couldn't give it to me because he needed to hang on to it to order the parts. I took my Yukon home and inspected the tie rods myself. No visible wear, no damaged rubber seals, no leaking grease, no play in the joints. I made an appointment at the GMC dealership to inspect my Yukon and took it in a few days later. The Certified GM Technician told me that he inspected my tie rods, control arms, and other suspension and steering components and my vehicle was in excellent condition with no worn parts or issues needing repair. I called The Tire Store after receiving the certified diagnosis from the dealership and asked to speak to a manager. An employee named Kona said they don't have a manager and they are trying to hire someone to fill the position. I asked to speak to the owner. I was told the owner was not there. I was then asked to explain the reason for the call so I did, then I was placed on hold. Another employee named Dino picked up the line and stated he was the regular alignment technician and asked who I dealt with during my visit to the shop. He stated he was on vacation the week I visited and Mike was filling in for him. He apologized. I stated I wanted to make sure the owner was aware of what happened. I told him that I doubted the owner who has been running that business for over 30 years would condone one of his technicians trying to rip off people by trying up-sell his customers for repairs that were unnecessary. He said he would let the owner know, but I am not confident he will follow through, based on my experience. For this reason, I am leaving this lengthy review. Please be sure that if you receive a quote for repairs from this store, that you get a second opinion from another reputable shop before committing to the repair bill. I hope this helps other customers who are not as technically inclined as I am or who do not know any better and are easy targets for predatory mechanics. read more

When I described what was wrong with my car and they assessed it it turns out that I only needed new tires in the rear. I appreciate the tire store and their honesty. You guys are killing me. Brought my wife's 2015 Malibu in for a simple tire repair with a slow leak and a 3rd time to get the tire pressure system to read which wheel is where. The low tire on the left rear shows on the dash as the right front. They reset all the locations (I hope) and told me there was no leak in the left rear without even taking the wheel off. I told them they were wrong and that the tire lost 15 psi overnight. They said probably normal due to temperature changes. I insisted they look and when they finally took the wheel off... WOW, a nail in the tire was found. Of course they fixed it, charged me $15 which I was happy to pay since they initially tried to send me away to have a potential blowout. After all that, my wife complained that all her tire pressures were reading 45 psi. They should be 33 per the door decal. So I go to adjust them down to find only one of my Custom Valve Stem Covers out of 4 were reinstalled. I have had awesome service from the Rosamond shop but everytime I go into the Lancaster shop, they treat me like an annoyance. I think it is time to stop going here. You better replace your lazy old management and get back to how you used to treat your customers back in the day! read more

My other half tried following an employee at a local truck store, when he went to a different shop, and ended up getting bad advice from another shop. I told him to take his truck to the Tire Store and the employees at The Tire Store educated him on how he'd been swindled by the other shop. They didn't bad mouth the other shop, they simply educated which makes them a class act in my book. Another thing some people fail to think about is the cleanliness of an establishment. Had a good experience getting my Civic aligned the first time I went here. Decided to take my second car (Quest). Did not have the same experience with a different tech. He said he could not align it perfectly, because of the rack and pinion bushings. Took it home, ordered the bushings, went to install them and saw my inner cv axle boot was ripped (pry bar?). To top it off my tie rod boots were twisted, didn't release the clamps?. This kid obviously didn't know what he was doing, but once you leave the lot it becomes your word against theirs. read more

Came in for alignment and suspension work. The alignment department is not trained properly. My 2016 Prius was in need of an alignment and they didn't take the necessary steps to avoid ECU warning lights. All Hybrids need to have the battery disconnected before alignment. They didn't do this and ended up costing me more to fix. Avoid getting any suspension work or alignments for Hybrids here. They don't follow protocols. read more

Parked it where they told me and waited, noticed guys watching each other working , standing around then another car pulls up they pull him right in and start working on his car so I go back into office ask what's happening he asks. I am a huge fan of The Tire Store, and here's why: 1. I bought a new set of tires online from a different vendor. These guys installed the tires, did a great job, got me in and out in short order, and the cost was minimal. 2. They installed new front brake pads about 2 years ago, and did an excellent job. 3. I returned to have the rear brakes done (they've got 120K miles on them). But the mechanic told me that my brakes were fine; I could drive another 20K with no problem. And they didn't even charge me for the inspection. This kind of honesty is incredibly rare, and it will keep me coming back. 4. I called Toyota of Lancaster 4 hours ago, for an estimate on that same brake job. The person at the service desk said she'd have to call me back with a price. 4 hours later, and they still haven't called back. When I call The Tire Store, I get a real human being, not a machine. These guys are the real deal. One of the last of the great, honest, independent garages. Very highly recommended. read more
