Went to get a flat fixed. I was quoted $700.00 for a set of tires with a free brake inspection and wheel alignment, cool. Left the shop and when I got to Palmdale I had another flat tire was my tire tampered to get me to return? I asked them for the exact brand (Goodyear) and the manager said yes. Anyway I went back and now he says 700.00 for another brand of cheaper tires. They then quoted the brand I wanted for $1100.00. So here was my situation on 1-31-2018. Once again I drove my work trucks brakes down to the metal and grounded them down to nothing. I called Grand American tires at 2pm and spoke with Ramsey (manager). I asked Ramsey if he could put new front brakes on my truck today. His response was get it herr as soon as you can. I will do what I need to get you back on the road. 3:15pm was truck was dropped off and left for repair. I told them night would be great if they could get my truck up and going. I take all of my cars and my families cars to this location to get fixed. Today was the biggest purchase I've ever had to make. Brought my car in for diagnostics on my coolant system. Ramsey and his team got me in and got my car looked at in a timely manner and then notified me of what all the problems where and also forecasted things that he saw that would require work in the future. He gave me expert advise on the immediate repairs needed and informed me of all the warranties and cost associated with the repairs. He gave me an awesome unbeatable price on all the parts required to fix my car and after I agreed to the price he instantly got to work. My car was in and out of the shop within 6 hours. Ramsey and his team completed AWESOME work on my coolant system (new radiator, new upper and lower hoses, new thermostat, new housings, full system flush, and OEM fluid replacements) that doesn't even include the cost to pressurize and test the coolant system (if you try to rent the test parts from an auto parts store it's $250 rental fee) I highly recommend!!! read more

I have been a customer of Grand American Tires since 2017. This was one of the better Automotive repair businesses of Lancaster California. Ramsey and Duke were a Awesome team in regards of automotive repair and tires. Friday, July 29, 2022 I took my truck to Grand American Tires due to rear brake failure. My truck has been serviced only by Grand American Tires since moving to Lancaster in 2017. Saturday , Ramsey had multiple employees call off from work, and assured me that Monday they will diagnose my truck. Monday, August 1 and Tuesday, August 2 , Ramsey did not come to work. ( Note: The idiot in the office answering the phone , on speakerphone was no help at all to any customer) Duke was left to run the business for those two days. To meet Duke he's customer orientated very humorous. To rely on Dukes word in regards of the business is another issue. Monday and Tuesday Duke could not get it together to inspect my truck. Late Tuesday I drove into the business to inquire about my truck. As usual Duke gave inconsistent information stating that my front brake pads were at 50% and my back brake pads were at 80%. Because I don't trust anything that Duke tells me, I had Duke direct the employees to takeoff my back tires to inspect my back brakes myself. I had the employee pull off the rear driver side back brake drum, and the drum was severely scarred and the "primary " brake pad had disintegrated. I asked Duke is this what you call 80% ???? I looked at Duke and said to him "you look real bad at this moment, you just got caught in a lie". Moving forward with the story, I smiled at Duke and just told Duke to tell Ramsey they just lost a good customer... Note: this business cannot keep "Good Automotive technicians". Do not buy anything here as My 80 yo Mother needed 4 tires and I had usually used the Tires Store In Lancaster as they have been here forever well that day someone must of made the manager mad as he was short and very rude so I went to Grand American tires where Tim a super nice man ( No Longer there) took care of us and said the tires comes with a warranty and one of the best warranties and they charged much more but as the saying goes you get what you pay for ,Or so we thought these tires were purchased 10/2019 we have not driven on them as the virus has been here and we are high risk and are ordered to stay home . Last night I got in the car to go finally to Walmart and as I was driving the wheel all the sudden went flat they are Falken Brand and we were told they were premium tires with a warranty the AAA man who saw the tire said it was defected and blew a wall ? I do not even know what that means and when I went to the shop Ramsey would not even go to the car to see the tire and took the green paper receipt and threw is at me saying no tires are under warranty . So I called a very nice man who works in Simi Valley and got the nicest service representative he said they all have manufacturer warranties and the manager should of looked at it now I called Steve and I am waiting to see what he does as I do believe in allowing people to solve a problem and if he does I will repost the results as of now they never called like I was promised by Richard and it was funny I had told Richard I was doing a yelp review he said I need to tell you thats a joke as you can pay to have them removed ,That is odd as I checked and have seen all the bad ones ,I wonder if they just could not afford to remove anymore (LOL) I have faith Yelp does a great jon and I hope that people review a business before hand as most people would never do these extensive reviews if they were not truly upset for someone to throw the paperwork at me and tell me no tire has a warranty was a shock and did I react with class and dignity ? I went here for 4 new tires and an oil change for my car. I was helped by Sam and Duke. Both are managers at this location. I will be completely honest. There were some issues but both of these guys went above and beyond to make it right. I love my new Hancook tires! From my understanding, Bob is changed the oil on my car is new. He made some mistakes which led me to believe the oil was never changed. Sam guaranteed me it was done. I trust him but still had them change the oil in from of me. I am not a difficult customer at all but if I see mistakes, I will start asking questions. Especially, if it's mistakes that are preventable. First and last time this place gets our business. Took car in on a Thursday morning for a check-up on any possible issues and regular maintenence, was told it was going to take some time to work on and it could be picked up the next day (Friday) before closing, no problem. After confirming it was ready to go earlier that day went back Friday well before 5:00 p.m. to pick up the car and was told it still would not be ready (Unless we wanted to wait for it for another two hours, they were obviously not wanting us to stay and wait). They assured us it would be ready at 9:00 a.m. the next day. Showed up at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning and saw the car was still up on the lift being worked on, someone, who I assume is the owner, joked about it needing another couple hours so he could drive it around and make sure everything was ok, the guy who had told us it would be ready at 9:00 told him what he had promised, the man became rather defensive and argumentative until the other employee said it was their fault. Ended up waiting another hour for it and two days later had to take it to a completely different shop because the battery was dead!!! They charged us to service a DEAD BATTERY. Other than the inconvenience of being out a vehicle for DAYS, double paying for work, and paying for work that wasn't even done, I have no idea what we even paid for. The old grumpy man offered a free oil change or something, which is simply a weak attempt at keeping our business. Too little, too late, dude. This place is a scam and a joke. AVOID THIS PLACE!!! I want to make it clear that we took the car to this place because we knew it needed some love. Would have happily paid for any repairs that were necessary to make it safe to drive. I took my truck to the Lancaster Grand American Tire (GAT) to get new tires, shocks, and upper control arms put on. The truck is a 1995 Dodge 2500 4x4. The tires and shocks were provided by GAT, I brought the control arms because I could only find one company that makes them cnc bent to clear larger tires without rubbing. I put the lowers on myself. The upper bolts were difficult to remove so I supplied new bolts and nuts in case the old ones had to be cut out. Ramsey, the service advisor, told me they had to remove the lowers to get to the uppers and would charge an extra hour of labor, I understood, that was fine. After GAT had the truck a full week I was told it's done. When I arrived (Friday 3/16) the control arms were installed with the bend pushing out so that the tires rubbed even more than stock. When they took off the lowers that I already did they didn't even put them back on the same way. I was asked to take the truck and bring it back next week to be fixed. Unfortunately I was moving that next week and I did not get the impression they would be able to fix it in time so I took it upon myself to flip all four control arms that weekend. Which I did. Ramsey also told me they had quite a bit of trouble installing them, but I was able to do it with a pair of jack stands and a basic tool kit without trouble... What I found was disappointing to say the least. The upper control arms had been considerably damaged by what I can only assume was an incompetent mechanic. They had sustained numerous heavy blows from a pointed object leaving the surface heavily pocked. I don't see why this was necessary when a rubber mallet or dead blow hammer would have done the same job of maneuvering the control arm without damaging it. Each control arm also used to have a grease fitting at each end and three out of the four on the uppers were sheared off. I'm surprised that this was not mentioned to me upon delivery of the truck and even more surprised that they were not replaced with new fittings after being broken off. I also found that the nuts I supplied were not used. The drivers side at least had the old flanged nuts which is good, but the passenger side had a regular nut with no flange and no washer. So they seem to have lost enough nuts (at least 6) that they had to dig a couple out of a bucket somewhere, but to use a regular nut without a washer is unprofessional. I would have rather been told and charged the $5 for new nuts that were correct. They did check the alignment for me after I fixed their botched job. I asked them for a refund for a portion of the labor I paid for, since I didn't get what I paid for, but got nothing. read more

One time my check engine light was on and this other mechanic wanted to charge me over 100 to do a diagnostic test (just for that), and I got a second opinion at Grand American Tires, they checked it out and it was as simple as changing my gas cap. Balanced and rotated my tires, made my alignment better until I could get the other shop to fix their mistake. Duke and Tim wouldn't let me pay for the work. Can not say enough about the service! Ramsey and his crew are honest, extremely fair prices and all around nice to do business with. I needed some work done on my Altima got a quote from another place that I had done business with in the past twice as much as what I got from Ramsey. Needed to have my transmission fluid changed as one of the items on my list, he called and said they were not able to do it, had to be done by dealership, he even called others transmission places to check and he was right which is not great $200 from dealer he was going to charge me $90. He forgot to put on my wiper blades which I had added on when I dropped off my car. When I picked it up I asked if they put them on, he forgot and installed at no charge the blades that is and installation! Old time service you certainly don't see this anymore!. I called this shop before i go there to know if they have a floor alignment machine bcoz my car is low and have negative camber and the person who answer told me bring my car to see if they can do it but they do low car so i went over there and when i get there they said yes they can do it.. it will take about 1 hrs so i said okay noproblem.. so i drive my car to the alignment machines and they raise up my car and the test how bad is my camber is so they did that and they they ask me how do i want my camber will be and we did that so everything is set already and out of nowhere they said they need to remove my wheel out n put it back and it will cost me more like $40 each wheels so i said go for it bcoz i really want my car alignment.. so they made me move my car to the alignment machines so they can remove my wheel then out off nowhere they called me n said they wont di it anymore and just bring it to the dealership so i was like why we already set up everything you guys just need to remove my wheels n adjust my camber the i guess the manager ( big fat guy) said we wont want to deal with it and just bring it to a dealership or somewhere else and he the one who.i talk to the phone n also when i first came to this shop and now they going to say they dont want to deal with it n just take it somewhere else... they wasted my time that i cannot take it back... my advice to this shop dont say you guys can do it and did everything and then in the end you guys just going to say you wont want to do it anymore and dont want to deal it with.. and i wasnt rude or did anytjing wrong with them i just want to get my alignment done and thats it even they will charger me more... after spending $1000 at this place DUKE ( store manager) decided that a confirmed mis-diagnosis repair at his FORMER TIRE STORE (that I SPLIT the cost anyway) was a reason to REFUSE to perform the rotation & balance that COMES WITH a tire purchase at Grand American tires.Steve ( Canoga Park Store) the owner of this chain REFUSED to help except to communicate to me to make a 90 mile round trip to their Newhall store. When I explained that a 1/2 day trip & $30 worth of gas for a service that I can have done at THE TIRE STORE or AFFORDABLE TIRES for $20 makes NO sense when the store I bought them from ( 1 mile away ) is STILL in business I received a message from Steve (chain owner) to " GO SOMEWHERE ELSE".
