However, upon returning home, this morning I woke up with 4 new bites that are in the classic "bed bug" line pattern, and a 5-star pest control service in my area has confirmed that they appear to be bed bug bites. I am having my home professionally treated by an exterminator on Monday, and then retreated in two weeks. I have never had any vermin infestation in my life, and I lived in New York City for 4 years.

It is very quiet with adequate parking. The beach is 200 feet from the back door and was never crowd. Gentle slope into the ocean and life guards gave us a feeling of safety. The private beach area in the backyard allows for private activities but also shared games with the neighbor kids. The pool was clean but not very big and some of the lounge chairs are broken. Shops, restaurants, and theme parks close by.

On Friday, our first night, we utilized the private beach area and the pool. The pool area has a bar and dj and it thumps, "MTV lit" type of party. Although the tunes are loud, as they should be, if you close the balcony sliding door, it closes out much of the noise. My 2 year old still went to sleep. Everyone working there was nice and accommodating. At the front desk, if we needed something they were on it. We had a prob with our room upon arrival. The floor was wet in the bathroom and it wasn't from a shower or cleaning. The water was seeping in from the crevices of the floor. They changed us quickly to an identical room down the hall. If you need to to laundry it is 2.50 to wash and 2.50 to dry. You need quarters tho, and they had they at the front desk along with detergent. I was able to wash and dry swim suits and towels to use again We walked across the street to the beach with stroller and wagon in tow. We could have gotten a ride from the golf cart person that the hotel provides (we prob will next time), and who was super nice. He let us know there is a bathroom at the sealoft hotel you can use if you are an Aloft patron and he provided the code to get in. Lifesaver!!! I later needed that code after being at the beach with the 2 year old and her pullup swimmers. She yelled potty and I was running in the sand from the water and got her to that beautifully clean bathroom in time. Good times. It is toddler friendly, family friendly, young people friendly, we had a great weekend stay.

So I booked this motel through booking.com and great reviews online as well as the 4 stars rating…read morereviews on Yelp. Sorry, it's not a 4 stars rating here. I arrived early to the beaches and called to ask if I can park on their lot even though the room was not ready to check in until later that afternoon and the staff said it was fine. This is cool and from there on, things turned down south. I got to the lot and noticed that the parking space is tight and very limited. Apparently, they have another parking area off premises which is good but who really wants to walk. When I booked the place, I specifically request to be on the first floor. When I arrived, I noticed several people were checking out but the staff gave me a room not on the first floor nor second floor but third, which is their highest floor. I asked about my request and the staff said no one is checking out on the first floor and that I had was the only available room. The staff wasn't nasty but she wasn't kind either and really did not bother checking her computer system or at least try to look like she wanted to help. When I got in the room, everything was really outdated. I guess the tale tell sign was when I was given two keys, not key cards. Who still uses keys at a motel/hotel? I had no paper towel by the kitchenette sink. There was a sign that mentioned renter needs to clean their own dishes and stack them back as the cleaning staff doesn't clean dishes. Of course, there's no dishwasher. They left two fly swatters in the room...gees, so now I'm expected to use them. The bathroom towel are not so clean. My bedsheets were a bit damp so I had to call for a new one. The wifi is horrible and really it is a joke . Thank goodness my cell phone LTE works fine. I asked to check out a day earlier and wanted a refund. Another staff (not the same staff when I checked in) flatly said no refund. She would have to talk to the owner of a possible credit for future stay but can't guarantee that a credit is even given. Of course, she never bothered asking the owner or at least, never bothered getting back to me on the matter. They have nothing on their website on about changing the lodging stay. I'm reluctant to even give this place two stars but they did let me park there before check in and the location is not too far off the boardwalk so distance wise to the attractions are fine. However, with so many other places to stay, I will recommend to look into other places.

Th me only negative thing- the restaurant Spain was also on the eighth floor where we stayed and the traffic was ridiculous. We had to wait 15-20 minutes in the elevator to get to our room.

It was 4:30 AM when the first one went off, and i had to help my handicapped grandmother walk down 6 flights of stairs... JUST for it to be a false alarm. She was in pain for days! Hell, she still is and this was 4-5 days ago. After that, my family and I refused to evacuate. This could be dangerous in case of a real emergency. We got no messages or anything about it being a false alarm, yet our neighbors did. Overall, i loved how close, convenient, and comfortable the hotel was, but some things need worked on.
