Initially I loved this place, it was a LITTLE more than the competitors but it was in a mall and I get you have to keep the lights on, etc.. so it wasn't a bad experience as much as I knew I wasn't going there to get a deal. Kids in the store were nice, cool little eclectic blend of employees, had WAY more Manga then I was into but a solid back selection too and I'd almost always find at least one or two things you didn't know existed. Overall was great for an every 10 weeks trip or so... ( here comes the but...) That being said, August of last year they sold my son a broke in the box General Grievous, big 200 buck one, he was ECSTATIC to buy it but they didn't disclose it was broken, the arm was glued, it wasn't " working" ( Mass law that you can't sell something you know is broke.. we don't have an As-Is law that permits that) and unfortunately he didn't open the box until we got in. I took pictures instantly and we returned to the store immediately and the manager was " going to contact us".. guys name was Phil ( he and his whole staff have been fired since, I'm guessing they were stealing or doing something shady). Told that we broke it ( um... WHEN would we have had time to?!?) and he proceeded to lie to the credit card company as well. Long story short, we're taking them to small claims court and including treble damages because of the intent to deceive, the amount of my time he wasted over what I'm sure they KNEW was their own scam since the arm was super glued... etc etc... It's good that Phil has been fired and good that we're going to get our money back but it's just garbage that ANYONE would try to pull that stunt on a 12 year old autistic kid. Just complete scumbaggery. Ok so in short: Good selection. Ok prices. Really bad human beings. Also, apparently don't know Mass General Laws... probably should learn those guys.. P.S. I'd settle for a refund and an apology from the owner/manager who shows up at court next week. I'd probably change the review to reflect this as it wasn't the owners fault or current management but they've had a ton of time to reach out on this one and haven't. Doesn't help that they tried to say they have " experts" who claim we broke it... maybe the business is seedy, I don't know, I just know they tried to rob a kid who cleaned up an awful lot of dog poop to save that money up.. read more

This place is an absolute rip off. Do not come here to sell any of your stuff or buy anything for that matter. You are much better off going on eBay or somewhere else to find collectibles than here. The store is run by absolutely incompetent people that are not helpful and very rude. Dan has absolutely zero knowledge of any collectibles or what they are worth and is a huge waste of time to talk to you as well. I could name at least five other decent collectible stores in the state of Massachusetts that would outdo this place in a heartbeat. A bunch of amateurs run this place and I will not be doing business with them again. Once again, save your money and look on eBay or other collectible stores in the area, but certainly don't give these guys another minute of your time. read more

Definitely the coolest place in the Warwick mall. Tons of different toys and collectibles sports cards Funko pops all kinds of things you can spend a solid hour in here and it would feel like five minutes. The people working there are helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely check it out. read more

Toy Vault serves a great purpose as a quick walk down memory lane looking at vintage toys from the 70's and 80's or to grab a quick gift for someone (probably a Funko Pop). With all their locations there is no doubt the Toy Vault chain is a success. My personally opinion is that their success is made off the money of people who don't know the true value of things they deem to be collectibles. There are plenty of websites and a few brick and mortar locations where you can vintage Star Wars, WWF or superheroes toys as a fraction of the price Toy Vault is charging. I was recently in the store looking at brand new WWE Wrestling figure they had priced at $50 and I was told it was "a rare figure". Within 5 minutes of leaving the store I had bought the identical figure online for $25 including the shipping. I understand overhead and free market, but I also understand price gouging and I'm not sure which one of those Toy Vault falls under. All that being said I enjoy browsing their stores and the staff is always friendly. Because it's a chain store the clerks are not allowed to bargain on any prices (even of overpriced vintage toys) and in my experience they are taught to super lowball anyone trying to sell toys to them. I have also bought the occasional Funko Pop or other toy in a pinch, but I always do a quick internet search to make sure I'm not grossly overpaying. Thanks for reading. read more

I don't know what the store is like - but I am commenting here from the eBay store. I ordered 17 unopened booster Sailor Moon trading card packs, and 3 were opened even though they were advertised as sealed. eBay doesn't allow you to leave a review for a certain number of days - so i didn't do it until about 38 days later. Upon leaving a *neutral* review , not even negative, I was harassed by the company. I didn't even ask for my money back - yet they continued to say that the packs were unopened although I very much know myself (and my boyfriend as a witness) that they were not. It's upsetting that such a company would act so unprofessional just because of a neutral review. read more

While shopping in the mall,I was happy to find out there was a vintage toy store at this location. Huge selection of Pop, modern figures and statues, but I was more interested in the 80's selection of Joes, He-man and Transformers. The prices run about the same as ebay, the only grip I have is when you purchase a figure,(Which is displayed attached to the figure), the stand does not come with it. I wouldn't mind if they explained that before I bought my item, but not a bad place if you want to get something straightaway and not wait for a purchase from, ebay or other toy auctions. read more

An overpriced but otherwise wide selection of figs. However, if you happen to, you know HAVE A JOB & WORK ALL WEEK, don't bother coming in on Sunday to trade. Apparently the manager doesn't trust his employees to understand the market enough to make decisions. A bit insulting to the staff, and a little inconsiderate to potential customers that the manager feels the need to micro-manage any transaction that doesn't involve a customer handing over their money. What is there to say about Toy Vault? It's a terrific place to browse, it's a trip down memory lane, and you'll never know what you're going to find. If you are a collector of toys they've pretty much got something here for everyone: Sports, Wrestling, Star Wars, DC, Marvel, Transformers, G.I. Joe, Masters of the Universe, Thundercats, McFarlane, NECA, Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, Stargate, Doctor Who, and I could just keep going on and on. They also have vintage video games, collectible card games, and even more. If there is something you're looking for just ask and if they have it at one of their other stores they'll track it down for you. The Toy Vault can be a little on the pricey side, but for the most part is comparable to eBay and other vintage sellers. You really have to know your prices, especially if you're buying loose/vintage figures. Not to mention that when you deal with eBay you have to pay for shipping and you really don't know who you're dealing with. I don't get down nearly enough but when I do I'm usually just there to browse. If you're looking for the latest DC Universe Classics or Marvel Universe Icons figure you might be disappointed, but if you missed a wave or are looking to collect old DCSH or ML you could just find that elusive figure you've always wanted. read more

Awful, awful store. The selection is decent, but everything is overpriced. I go mainly for the video games, and the majority of the games I see can be purchased on eBay or at local flea markets for a significantly lower price. Nintendo 64 sports games that came out over a decade ago are sold for around $10, these same games regularly go for .99 on eBay. Service is horrendous. I purchased a Dreamcast with my friends today and it would not read games. When I brought it back to see if they could do anything about it, I was immediately accused of swapping the machine with a broken one to try to rip the store off. I was told that "everything is tested, and we put toy vault stickers on everything we sell" to verify this (no such sticker was found on my dreamcast, and a game boy color my friend bought also had no sticker). I do not appreciate being blatantly lied to and I especially do not appreciate being sold a broken console. Take your business somewhere else. read more

Items are overpriced. The lady cashier is kind but she does not know much about the items and the process of how "they" buy your figures/ toys.. The owner is quite "special". Made a video of the figs that I'm about to sell so that he can have a better look. Mind you it was just about a minute and 40+ seconds. My son who is new to comics bought 2 comics rated "T+" I went back to attempt to trade them for more appropriate ones. Sure the sign says "all sales final". I think that the response from the sales person was curt and "don't care". He said that my son should not have been in the store unsupervised. The Toy Vault is NOT the place to sell your exclusive Funko Pop figures. I made the drive from Stoughton to Attleboro to sell 12 exclusive Funko Pops and after the guy ( I didn't get his name) asked how much my son was looking to get for the Pops my son did not check online as to how much these exclusives were going for so he just said $4.00 a piece. The guy said give him a few minutes to see what they were selling for. We were there about 10 minutes when the guy said okay he would pay $35.00 ( for the 12 of them) really... they were having a sale for regular Pop figures 2/ $20.00. Now I know that they have to make money but just under $3.00 a piece for exclusive Pops was a total ripoff but my son needed the money and we had my three year old grandson with us. Really Toy Vault you make Gamestop's payout for used games seem a little generous in my opinion. Shame on you. If you want to get ripped off then I guess Toy Vault is for you but this is my last visit there. read more

I'm a very avid Pokemon card collector and I visit many card shops and collectible stores in the area. I've also visited other Toy Vault stores and have had no problems. However whenever I enter this store looking to buy cards; all of the workers ignore me completely. I can understand if there are a lot of people in the store and that it's busy but this has also happened when there are few to no people in the store. Just about all other stores including other Toy Vaults I've visited ask me as soon as I walk in or over to a counter "Can I help you find anything you're looking for?". These people clearly don't know how to do their jobs. This has happened for the 5th and final time and I will not be shopping at this store any longer. More details on my latest visit. I walk in and go over to the counter where the cards are located. I stand there and wait for a few minutes. I can see that the store is somewhat crowded with about 3 pairs of people.There are 2 people working at opposite sides of the room. The guy at the figures in the back counter isn't very busy and I'm waiting for any offer of help but he just stands there and does nothing. I'm about to go over and ask for some help when he then decides to help some other customers while I'm on my way. So I go back to the counter where the cards are and the guy running the register is and wait for him to be done checking out the person in line. A bit of a line forms behind them but it's not a big deal because I'm going to ask for some assistance really quickly by giving me a binder of cards and at that point he can return to the register. But wait! The people start conversing and having a few minutes talk. There are now 2 people in line behind them. The man finally leaves and the next person steps up to the register. I then say at this point "excuse me can I see a binder?" and am completely ignored. The guy can clearly see and hear me and ignores me... Okay now I am furious because these people have given me such poor service in the past. So I walk over to him closer and say even louder "Hey I've been waiting over here for 10 minutes and have not been helped. Can I see the Pokemon card binder?". He pissily walks over and grabs the binder and puts it down for me and wobbles back over to the register. I get what I want out of this binder of cards that is overly priced on some of the worst most inexpensive cards and bring them over to the guy. He makes no eye contact with me and goes and adds up the prices and catalogs what he sold. He then asks for the money and I hand him a $20. He doesn't wrap my cards up in a little white bag (which they've done many times in the past) or even offer to do so.Then when hes getting my change ready I put out my hand to take said change to have him be even more of an asshole towards me by putting the money and change on the table and not my hand. Video games here are overpriced. I expect local shops to be a few bucks more than online auctions, and that's ok because you can touch the thing before you buy it, but some games are priced 2 and 3 times more than you can get elsewhere (even other local shops). I asked if prices are firm and they said there is no negotiating. I have been here a few times and purchased a few games from them, but anything that is part of a major video game franchise is priced very high, especially for the condition of most of the game cartridges and cases. The staff can be very rude when you ask questions on just about anything (not even prices, just for general help with items in cases). I have heard them speak poorly of customers after they have left the store too. This store could be pretty great, but it falls short on customer service, and despite their inventory any real collectors who know the value of items will probably not be too please with shopping here. read more
