Rustic and quiet. Lamp light in many of the rooms which is very romantic and soothing. You can hear the ocean from the back house. Hot in the summer, no A/C in my room which was fine. The family style meals are a wonderful way to meet people staying on the island and the food is terrific and it is a good value. I love sitting on the lawn and reading.

After some initial exploring during a day trip to Monhegan Island, we dropped by the Trailing Yew for a snack.

It is very clean and well-lit. The included parking is convenient as is its location just a two block walk from the main strip. We had a great time and would definitely stay there again.

There's so much character and thought placed into designing every nook and cranny of this Inn. The front desk lady was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was quite small - barely fitting a queen size bed in the room, leaving minimal walking space. Our bathroom was also very small. It had a toilet, a small sink, and a very narrow shower. We didn't mind the size of the room because we spent most of our time hiking around Acadia. The staff at Maples Inn was very kind and shared some of their favorite hikes and their tips and tricks into finding the best experiences. The lobby also has a few snacks that are perfect grab and go for the trails. Their breakfast is also tasty, delicious and cooked on order! One thing to note is that they have 2 small, gravel parking spots on either side of the inn. They will also provide a parking permit for your car that will cover street parking during the dates of your stay at the inn. During peak season, I can only imagine how hard it must be to find parking nearby though.
