This company Sent me a TEXT morning of scheduled service cancelling our pick up of move out trash. There was no phone call and when I called in to speak with someone I was told their their truck "broke down" then I was told well, your jobs kinda far out for us I don't know who took your order. Then when I told the guy this was terrible customer service and would he at least help me out by rescheduling since I'm moving today and this puts me in a bad place- HE HUNG UP ON ME!! I'm a widowed mom of two small kids and I was dependent upon this company for help this morning. Now I'm stuck paying 3x what I was quoted to another company due to having a "rushed job." Saw their ad for a "Big Load Special $149" , pictured with a large truck, and a picture of the large truck full of furniture, tv's etc. ( see below) I called to make an appointment... explained what I needed picked up ( a dresser, 3 headboards, a bookcase, a TV and random other items from a garage cleanout) The truck that arrived was a pick up truck and looking at what I had, the man said it would be $450 it would be multiple loads in his pick up truck. I sent them on their way. When I called the office to complain, I was told that the special was a cash only price, and he said "not everyone can get that special price" , When I told him again what I had said when making the appointment, he said that they quote at the job site and "we can't put everything on the ad" . Very nice on the phone to talk with. BUT!!!!! I mentioned the scope of work involved and was told the clerk on site would give me exact cost. I had tree loose bundles of insulation (No weight) and a small trash pile. I reluctantly agreed to 400 dollars for all, but then was told once insulation was loaded, they were not going to take the trash. The lead guy on site was very aggressive and homophobic and immediately treated to throw all back into the street. I am a female contractor and have worked with many subs in the Bay over the past 25 years and NEVER had this kind bad bad experience. Unbelievable. Total rip off. Do not hire. read more

they are constantly harassing me 8 or 10 times a day with email ads even though I live no where near their service area even though I never contacted them. Why would I, I live a hundred miles away. I wish they could be arrested for elder abuse for trying to peddle unwanted and unneeded services to the elderly but I don't know who to report them to. UPDATE: The items weren't even picked up. Seriously, save yourself time, energy, and money and just skip them. Paid $1,000 for 1/2 a truckload! I should have read the reviews here first....I made an appointment for hauling and Trash Buster was a no-show. They contacted me in the afternoon saying they have been trying to reach me and had the wrong number, we made an appointment for the next day. The appointment was missed...again. An hour after the missed appointment window, I was texted over and over by 3 different phone numbers telling me to answer and that they were at the location. After back and forth, I let them do the job. After the job was done, I was texted and emailed over and over and over to remind me about the invoice...SUPER unprofessional, unreliable, and horrible communication between the company and customer, and between the company and their employees. read more

Like many other comments - I should have read the reviews. I scheduled a whole house clean out. I was worried they might be a no show as the delivery person I spoke with was unclear about time of arrival. Luckily, someone showed up on time. I was given a quote that I agreed to before we started the job, then upon completion of the job, they tacked on an additional $200 for special items that should have been accounted for during the initial cost estimate. If you want assurance and peace of mind that you are not contributing to the dumping problem, you might want to look elsewhere. The Trash Buster appeared as the first item (an advertisement) in my online search for a mattress removal service. I was told that someone would come pick up my mattresses that same day -- at 6:00 p.m., as workers would be in Oakland at the end of the workday. I did not bother to look-up its reviews; "what could go wrong with such a simple task," I thought. The price was right, so I scheduled a pick-up. I called back about 30 minutes later and inquired about where it disposed of items. The man I talked to was adamant that it disposed of items, legally, at the dump. I received a professional looking confirmation email a little later, at 5:19. It is now 9:25 p.m. Trash Busters was a no-show! I'm questioning whether the subject of my 2nd call is the reason that they ghosted me. Could it be a contributor to the dumping problem in Oakland? I dunno, I certainly hope not, but I wonder. . . What I do know is that The Trash Buster messed up my evening, as I stayed home rather than attend to other matters so that I could be home to let them in and retrieve the mattresses. I am not in the practice of writing negative reviews. In fact, this is my first one. I much prefer to support small businesses. The Trash Busters deserve to be called out! Stay away!!!! Flaky, rude, incompetent, left garbage strewn everywhere after job was "complete" , and LEFT MY SIDE GATE OPEN!!! I have two dogs- one a very active and curious puppy. At the end the guys who had less personality than corpses asked me if I wanted to tip. What do I say? I tipped them the minimum. Plus, I was under the impression the job would be $150- it was $350. As far as I'm concerned, this company's coupon for large load special coupon for $149 is false advertisement! It is only for curbside trash. The website does not explain this, you have to call. Large load to me means a lot more than trash. When I tried to explain this to the gentleman I was speaking to, he hung up on me! Very rude!! Would not recomment! read more

I saw an ad on Facebook for this company. I called and spoke to David M. I specifically detailed two items h needed hauled away. Both items were 10-15' in length. David stated he would have the crew come with a 25' trailer. The first day they were scheduled to arrive between 12-2. At 2pm I called to ask if they were delayed. I was told by David M. That they may have stopped for coffee or something hit they were definitely on their way to me. At 4:30 that day, James called me to say he was sorry but got held up on a job all morning and he did not have a large enough trailer for my items nor did he have time to get to me. I asked James if David had provided into to him about my items. James said no he only had our address and phone and what time he was supposed to be there. I was polite and said I understood and we set up an appointment for this morning. Today, a different crew member showed up, late again. And they again were not prepared with a trailer long enough to hold my items, although my husband stated That if they had put the items in corner to corner they would have fit. I texted David to say I was angry and wouldn't be using their service, and his reply was "I don't know what you're talking about, we don't have 20' trailers" This company is not reliable and I would not suggest them to anyone. read more

Then when he came back to do the job, they got to the church early, took everything we discussed and a few additional items at no cost. I will def use his service again! read more

The Trash Buster is a scam. They advertise a deal of $149 to haul ALL of your trash, see their yelp pictures. yet when they get to your property they want to charge way more. I was told that the deal included everything except mattresses, furniture and appliances. when they got there they added to that list and told me that a pile of trash that was equal to 20 trash bags and some wood would be $900. When I scheduled the service I was sure to tell them that the items were in my yard and would need to be carried to the truck. When they explained the increase from $149 to $900 they cited that they needed to charge for carrying the bags from the yard to the truck. They were unapologetic, said that my trash did not qualify for their $149 deal. This is the WORST company in the business! I had an appointment with them today (8/11/21) from 10:00 a.m. to noon, they pulled a no show. At 2:00 p.m. I called to see if they were coming, I was assured they were and close to on their way. They finally showed up at 5:45 p.m. and refused to take the old spa way. I was very clear on the phone while making the appointment that it was a 6-person hot tub to be removed. We agreed on a price while on the phone, the guys who showed up quoted me double the price to consider taking it AND they said I would have to cut it up before they would come back the next day. Cutting the hot tub up was NEVER discussed during any of our phone conversations. This is ridicules! This company should be out of business. The crew that came out quoted me $500.00 to remove the load in my driveway. In addition, when everything wouldn't fit in their truck I was told there would be an additional charge to remove the rest. Needed immediate pick up in Oakland for trash after moving. They showed up within 30 minutes. got all the junk out within the hour and sent pictures when they were done. They called me with the quote on site and got it done. I was a happy camper! They were friendly over the phone and I didn't meet them in person but the pictures show the work they did. My only complaint was they said the price went up by $50 due to a piece of cement they found but.. it wasn't any cement there before.. so I was confused by that.. otherwise happy camper!!! read more

I called David from a lead on the web site saying a 150 special. He was courteous on the phone. I needed him to pick up the remains of furniture that a local donation company wound not take from my storage unit. He said pick up would be at 10 am the following morning. He said if I sent a picture he would send a quote. I received 3 texts and and an email saying that they would be there at 10 am. Not a window of time 10-12 as they tried to argue with me later when they did not show up but 10 am. My storage unit is an hr away from where I live. At 10:15 I called and was told I was taken of the list for that day. I did get them there but it was 12:45 and many more arguments and excuses. No apologies from management. They had no trouble taking what I had and were quick and reasonably priced -- but they damaged my stairwell railings and floor when taking items downstairs. Now I have to repair painted wood in 3 locations and figure out how to fix gouged and scratched engineered vinyl flooring in my stairwell (like in 10 locations)! read more

Promised price matching which they did not do, communication was nearly non existent until I threatened to cancel, then became spotty again when I did not. All I needed was a good quote and a confirmation of what types of payment they accepted and it was like pulling teeth. Beware of this company's advertising. Their website advertised a special - $87 for a small load, $129 for a medium load and $149 for a large load. I called on Monday and asked for them to come and give an estimate so they set an appointment up for 10-11AM Tuesday. I later got a text message they were sending someone out on Monday afternoon but gave no details and the person never showed up. On Tuesday, no one showed up during the appointed time so I called at 11:30 AM to cancel the appointment. The person told me the truck and crew were in the area and would be at my home soon so I said okay. The crew showed up about 10-15 minutes later. Now, I thought my load was probably small to medium, but got a shock when the crew lead quoted me $300. That was twice the advertised price for a large load so apparently my load was double large!! If I can figure out how to post photos with this review, you can see for yourself what we had that they considered a double large load so you can compare with what you have in your load. Anyway, I'm trying to get over the price we paid by telling myself it's really great to have the junk gone. read more

At the last minute our booked junk haul company canceled on us. We had garage doors getting installed the next morning and a garage full of moving boxes, old doors and junk left by the previous owner of our new home. With one quick call to The Trash Buster team around 3pm, a truck was at our house at 6pm! The team was super quick, the price was fair and our garage was cleared within 30 minutes.
