Unlike many of the other reviews, I had a fairly positive experience. My truck was stolen from Fremont and was found in Oakland with half of Oakland in the 8 foot bed of the truck. I was "lucky" enough to not only pay the $360.00 for the city of Oakland (the tow yard they contracted) to release the truck (that was there less than a day) and I got to keep the 8 foot truck bed, 3 feet high of Oakland's finest garbage. I wanted that garbage OUT OF MY TRUCK NOW! So, I got an estimate of $450 dollars from some guy with a truck to get rid of it. That was too much so I called the The Trash Busters and said I wanted the 149.00 large load special. So, they booked me for that day! They came on time, and wanted to charge me $250.00 because there were monitors in the garbage and they had to pay more to dispose. I agreed to $200. So they agreed. They cleared out the truck fairly quickly and they even swept out the truck bed and took that debris as well. For my experience, I recommend them although there are so many bad reviews, you should probably be cautious. read more

My pick up team was sent to the wrong area but I'm glad they came and picked up Almost everything, but I didn't have a huge amount of trash to begin with. This was my third pick up and it was the most expensive yet the smallest. They have a special online for 150 for a large pick up but I was given a price of 250 minimum for a quarter of a truck full and told it should've been 300. These guys are the best. We had an old cast iron bathtub that weighed a bunch, and other places that were supposed to haul it away said it was too heavy. Trash Buster said they could do it and haul away all of our other side yard waste as well. We made an appointment, they arrived on time, and they hauled everything away - including the bathtub - for less than their original estimate! The team was nice and respectful and highly efficient! They have this fancy email system updating their arrival time, but what's the point if they are not kept. The system kept postponing the appointments several time throughout the day. I called regarding a $149 junk removal coupon. I had just pulled a substantial amount of juniper from my front yard. Which was all stacked basically curbside. The office staff was friendly and well organized. The following day the men showed up and I asked about the special and was flatly told it didn't meet the criteria and it was gonna be $500. I said that's $350 more than I was expecting. So he came down all of$50 to$450. They weren't there for even 45 minutes as it was already right there. They left a mess all over the side walk and curb gutter, and this after they borrowed a broom. Removed and set aside some non green waste I had out there and wanted gone and did not take 4 garbage bags of the juniper clippings, asked if I could just deal with the rest. I mean who calls someone for hauling and gets left with some of the shit they want hauled away while paying what I saw as a premium price. Don't use them as they ain't nothing special and they don't even do their job and too expensive, they might not have even paid to dump as the whole load was green. Trash buster? Yea the only thing they busted were my b*lls (one of my neighbors must of had the misfortune of hiring these baboons) I drive a 2003 smart car, low miles, nice paint, economical . The trash buster team had the audacity to park their 4x4 metal heaping monstrosity at the crux of my driveway. As a dasher I operate at a certain level of professionalism; a class act you might say. That's not the case for the trash buster goons. Having multiple orders to fulfill, I kindly asked the busters to move their heaping semi truck. The main buster in charge ignores my question, "Hey Jeremy look at this" he says pointing at me. They both chuckle because I was visibly enraged at this point. The next part is hard to relive. I was berated for my choice of vehicle. "Just squeeze out the driveway bud, you drive a Smart!" said (presumably) Jeremy, once again cackling like pigs. (Let it be known this was not possible as the width of my smart is at least 3.5 ft and the gap they left me was closer to 2) At this point I am livid. Do I risk the pristine paint and bodywork of my Smart or get into a full fledged brawl with the buster goons? Thank God for the maneuverability and engineering of the smart as I was able to off-road through my rock garden and hop off the curb next to the driveway in a display of prowess. I did not have time for this child's game with Jeremy and I have a five star dasher rating to uphold. Scam. Do not use. They have a large load special advertised on their website of $149. They arrived one day late - and driver immediately demanded $400. I said what about the special pricing on the website. Driver said 'NO'. Note, everything was bagged or boxed and in the driveway where truck could back up right to it. No furniture, no electronics. Absolutely horrible people! I was in the middle of moving, and realized I had a lot of junk left over from the move. I saw the ad for $149 special for LARGE LOAD SPECIAL and called and verified that it is $149 for a full truck load and they said yes. I scheduled it for a certain day and time and received both email and text confirmation. The day of the scheduled pick up which was 2pm, I received a call at 10:30 and said the guys were on the way. I immediately said no, I requested 2pm - I will not be ready at 10:30am. So they said ok we'll be there at 2. At 2:30 when no one showed, I called and they said it's a 2 hour window so it will be between 2-4pm. So at 4pm no one still showed I called and they said they were having a problem but are looking for someone. At 5pm THE END OF THE DAY THAT I NEED TO BE OUT OF MY APARTMENT after I waited for them to show, they asked for a photo of my things. I sent a photo and it was only then they said it will be $600. No one ever asked for a photo before 5pm - when they were supposed to be there at 2!! When I complained about what all happened, the guy was arguing with me telling me I was in the wrong! I was in such a hurry when I booked them that I didn't read these reviews first. Trust what you read of these yelp reviews - These guys are awful, stay away!
