So this place is amazing and the owner is so helpful and friendly. My 7 year old son and I stumbled in during open studio time, and am I glad we did. She told me open studio time is 11-3- not sure if that is M-F though. First of all, I'm an elementary art teacher in Texas and have a lot of experience painting with young kids. This studio is set up for your child's success. There are templates that can be used so that the art turns out looking like what it is meant to look like, thus a happy child. She has smocks to cover clothing and a wide array of rocks, colored sand, shells and other shiny bits that can be added to make the art 3-d. We had a great time-- spent about an hour and $25 and left with a great souvenir of our 30A trip-- better than anything you'll find in a gift shop! Go here with your children. You will not regret it.

We had an absolute blast here!! Seriously so cute and organized! Today was a rainy day in seaside 30A so we searched what to do and found this amazing small business and I am so glad we visited! The art studio is upstairs and 6 groups/families can go up to create art at a time! Others can wait downstairs and shop in the toy shop . We had a 6 and 4 year old who both wanted to do canvas art (~$30 per) but there were many other $5, $9, etc price point wooden art options that weren't canvas to paint and bedazzle! They had art shirts for the kids to wear and my kids favorite parts were the hair dryers for drying the paint and the amazing loose materials station spilled with glitter, gems, rocks, etc to choose from! There are at least 30+ animals/ scenes to create on canvas that are beautifully hung on the walls and they give you the colors, a template to trace, and a visual sample to reference as your child creates their choice ! We enjoyed making art for 1.5 hours and didn't feel rushed! My 6 year old could have spent all day there! Highly recommend , and not just for a rainy day! I would suggest going 20+ min before they open to get in line to go upstairs and be apart of the first 6 groups!

My group booked Emily for a bachelorette party activity and it was a great experience!…read more I was the one of the group that actually booked it so I was communicating with Emily prior to the date we booked her for. She was quick to respond and very friendly! She gave me a bunch of options to pick from that I felt would work good for the group/theme. On the day of the booking, she arrived on time to set up and she provides all the supplies needed. You can also pick what size canvas you want. We all had to travel with carry on suitcases so we opted for a smaller canvas and it was perfect. She was very helpful and painted along with us, giving us tips when features came up. I would recommend her service for any event that you want to add a fun touch with a memorable/personal souvenir.

Emily gives easy to follow, gentle, encouraging class instruction, as well as individual help as needed. The variety of classes and projects is wonderful, and the different locations of classes are a fun way to explore the Panhandle area. I don't consider myself a painter/artist, but Emily's classes are therapeutic for me bc I get to spend a couple hours relaxing, making something, and using a part of my brain and self I don't usually exercise. It's good to "get out of my head" for a bit and create! Whether it's a class or a private event for adults or kiddos, The Traveling Painter will not disappoint. We highly recommend this business and these classes!

A totally wonderful experience. Lots of friendly, reassuring hands-on help. I made a resin…read morecharcuterie board, a small rectangular one as I really want to hang it rather than use it as intended. My limited creativity still delivered a very nice piece. Using completely different materials and techniques was a great learning experience. If you make a charcuterie board tiny glitter is available to enhance your piece. Two of my fellow participants added it to their handiwork, and it really enhanced their pieces. Must pick up the next day so factor that into your plans. I considered doing a crushed glass piece too but it seemed beyond my creative skills. Some of the crushed glass pieces are easier than others. Separately, they had some commissioned work being done and the skills of the staff are simply amazing. Would definitely try this again. Well worth the cost.

They had so many works of art on the walls to help with inspiration. The price was very reasonable considering you get a lesson, an hour to make your glass piece, and you get to go home with an original piece of art. I highly recommend taking a class and I look forward to doing this again!! Whether you're looking for a rainy day activity, need some time for yourself, or need to get some creative juices flowing, this art studio is the place to go!
