So this place is amazing and the owner is so helpful and friendly. My 7 year old son and I stumbled in during open studio time, and am I glad we did. She told me open studio time is 11-3- not sure if that is M-F though. First of all, I'm an elementary art teacher in Texas and have a lot of experience painting with young kids. This studio is set up for your child's success. There are templates that can be used so that the art turns out looking like what it is meant to look like, thus a happy child. She has smocks to cover clothing and a wide array of rocks, colored sand, shells and other shiny bits that can be added to make the art 3-d. We had a great time-- spent about an hour and $25 and left with a great souvenir of our 30A trip-- better than anything you'll find in a gift shop! Go here with your children. You will not regret it.

Britany is an excellent teacher and very patient with people like me who aren't very artistic. For my friends that had a knack for it, they were able to create amazing things.

Brit (the owner) was our instructor and she taught us all the best little tips and tricks she could during our class. We were the only 2 signed up for this particular class so it felt even more intimate and fun having it be like our own personal studio. I came in with a vision of exactly what I wanted; bowl with scalloped edges that I can display on my living room table. Brit helped absolutely bring that vision to life! Like exactly how I imagined, it's perfect! My husband made a big coffee mug/beer mug (depending on the time of day) that he is so proud of. Brit made our anniversary special and helped us make a long lasting gift that we will cherish for years to come. So if you're a local, a transplant, or a tourist, take all your glass blowing, fusing, or framework ideas and book a class here you will not regret it! 10/10 recommend!

My group booked Emily for a bachelorette party activity and it was a great experience!…read more I was the one of the group that actually booked it so I was communicating with Emily prior to the date we booked her for. She was quick to respond and very friendly! She gave me a bunch of options to pick from that I felt would work good for the group/theme. On the day of the booking, she arrived on time to set up and she provides all the supplies needed. You can also pick what size canvas you want. We all had to travel with carry on suitcases so we opted for a smaller canvas and it was perfect. She was very helpful and painted along with us, giving us tips when features came up. I would recommend her service for any event that you want to add a fun touch with a memorable/personal souvenir.

Emily gives easy to follow, gentle, encouraging class instruction, as well as individual help as needed. The variety of classes and projects is wonderful, and the different locations of classes are a fun way to explore the Panhandle area. I don't consider myself a painter/artist, but Emily's classes are therapeutic for me bc I get to spend a couple hours relaxing, making something, and using a part of my brain and self I don't usually exercise. It's good to "get out of my head" for a bit and create! Whether it's a class or a private event for adults or kiddos, The Traveling Painter will not disappoint. We highly recommend this business and these classes!
