It's 2:54pm - April 23, 2025. A guy knocked on our door and asked if we want our tree trimmed. My husband told him "No thank you". The guy proceeded to give my husband his business card and as he walked away ... the guy yells "Cheap Mother Fucker trying to sell the house and don't do his tree". My husband yelled at him while he was walking away saying "Great customer service Scott‼". That's the name on his business card says . The guy is pissed because we didn't want your service since you are soliciting door to door?? Seriously?? We have our own landscapers - thank you and they do not act like this clown. DO NOT HIRE! ... and never give the workers money before you inspect the work they have done personally! After having the owner Scott come and give me an estimate on tree trimming and hedge cutting, we agreed on a price and a time, noon that day, Monday. He didn't show, so I called and we said tomorrow morning by 11 will be fine, didn't show... should have thought about it. When they did come my wife and nanny were home, so they got to work. My wife later had to go to work as well and needed them to move the truck so she could get out. The guy she asked started hassling her about leaving and asked if they were going to be payed, she said the nanny is here and will pay afterwards. The nanny did just that and I came home that night only to see, even in the dark, that they had not completed the work as agreed upon. The hedge was only cut about 3/4 of the way across the top, the ends were not shaped and it was not trimmed from the fence, you know the basics. The coconut trees all 3 of them were not trimmed enough, in the dim light of my deck I could still see the palms drooping, and they left yellow and brown palms that clearly needed to be cut. So I attempted to call Scott on Wed nothing,Thur nothing, and by Fri morning nothing, finally someone answered and took a message for him, he didn't call back. Sat I called again and he answered so we talked about it. He said, "oh yeah, we couldn't finish the hedge from your side and needed to go into the neighbor's yard to reach it." Thats funny, nobody said anything about that when they left, and in 4 days you never called be back to tell me this. The coconut palms went like this, "oh for coconut trees we don't cut them as high, not like the others, but if that's what you want done we'll come back and do it." That conversation was on Saturday, and he said Monday he'll call me to come finish the work, its's now after noon and I have called 3 times and left a message and still no call back... I guessing it's a lost cause and Scott and his buddies are not coming to finish their half ass work! UPDATE: Scott showed up today and his guys finished the work. They did a good job, just wish it wasn't so difficult to get it done. All in all, decent job was done. read more

It is so hard to get hold of the owner!! I had given up on getting a tree cut because he wouldn't answer the messages. One of his guys came by with a flyer (I have a long driveway) and dropped off a flyer and a quote. I ended up having them do the work, workers were nice but the lead guy was expecting me to provide water for his guys. Okaaayy... I gave him what I had and then went out for more later. It just seems strange they came to work unprepared. They did an ok job, not cut as low as agreed, but oh well. The guys left trash around my yard, lottery tickets, bottles and so on, not cool. Like the other reviewers on here, I would *NOT RECOMMEND* these guys. There is something fishy about them; A guy from this company came to my door *unsolicited*, which I don't like to begin with. I believe his name was Tony. Aside from having an unexpected salesman at my front door, he was rather insulting telling me how overgrown my yard was and how bad it looked promising that The Tree Barber could trim the trees and hedges for me and make it look much better (wow). I like to do my own yard work and actually prefer the more natural look of my front yard without everything cut into boxes and rectangles as he suggested. I never thought of it as "over grown" at all and I assume neither do my neighbors who often compliment me on it. In what seemed a last ditch effort to save the sale, Tony then asked about a dying palm tree in the yard and told me they could address that problem. I explained that I didn't realize they did that type of work and had been actively looking for someone to help me with that problem without any luck. I told him that I would definitely be interested in hiring them with an estimate in hand to (1) take down the dying palm tree and (2) replace it with something similar in size (about 8-10 fee of trunk). Tony assured me that they "...could definitely do that, no problem at all." He took down all my information promising to call me later that day or the next with a price. I was relieved to finally find someone that would agree to help with the palm tree problem (I had been looking for months). I never heard from him or anyone from The Tree Barber again. So after about a week I called a couple times and left messages. My phone calls were never returned and I'm back to looking for someone to help me with my tree problem. Note: The flyer seen at the top of the page and the number Tony gave me and that I called matches the number here on Yelp! so I have no doubt this is the same company. read more

After so many issues other than that they hadn't done the work we agreed upon , I had reached them back . They said they would come back after making me feel bad for commenting on the work they did . Never heard from them again . There was something fishy after they had ended the day early waiting a long time for a vehicle to retrieve them . I also think they brought banana spiders here . These guys are rouges. They quoted me $120 to trim a small tree and did a very bad job. They did the work in 5 minutes. I had to get up on a ladder myself and clean up their job and haul away the trash myself. DO NOT HIRE!!!! read more

Really Nice guys. Did a great job and at a very reasonable rate. Will hire Tony again in a few years when we need the trees done again!
