The menu itself wasn't selling me so I scoured the internet for photos of the food choices from this local bar/restaurant. I finally landed on a photo from ONE month earlier via Yelp and it was for a lobster. Looked amazing. A generous portion with lots of lobster meat. In fact this photo sold 3 out of 4 of us to purchase this $27 roll. The served asked if we wanted fries so all 3 of us said yes. Apparently that's an additional up charge of $4 for fries. I had no idea until the bill came. In addition, i asked for them to be well done. They were not--and they were sooooooo peppery so I only had about 5. Actually we all discussed the ridiculous amount of pepper on them. So-- let me get to this "Connecticut lobster roll". DO NOT CHARGE ME $27 for lobster and then give me a roll fill mostly with "LANGOSTINO lobster". This is NOT lobster! These are basically hermit crabs man. They are not sweet like lobster at all. And they are much tougher the lobster. I received the equivalent of one actual lobster claw chopped up on the top of my roll, and the rest of my role was filled with LANGOSTINOS. Also, the description never mentions this cheap substitute filler, and it also describes these to be drenched in butter. They did not taste like they were drenched in butter. Maybe next time you should serve a side of drenched butter that could be dunked into. This is sooo highly offensive to me as well as disappointing and frankly poor taste as an owner. Be honest in your descriptions and pricing or serve what your advertising. My server was kind and friendly. But overall the wait for everything from the second we walked in the door was insane. We walked inside and we had to wait to be greeted and seated outside. Took forever to get seated. Took forever to get our drinks. Took forever for our food when there was nobody inside. There was maybe five tables with guests outside. Not sure what was going on, but it really wasn't busy on this Saturday afternoon. I can't imagine what a busy day would be like for this establishment. Be prepared to wait for 45 minutes to an hour for food on a slow day. Lastly, if you take a trip to the women's room, I do have to say the toilet is nice and high. That's a pro for me, but make sure you don't trip on the extension cords that are running through the bathroom floor to light up the window sign in the bathroom. What a tripping hazard! In the future, save your time and money. Giving 2 stars for the for the personable server alone. Otherwise I'd love to rate this place a big fat ZERO STAR rating.

The restaurant on the corner of Bridge and West First Streets in the center of Oswego is probably not something you'd expect to find in the area, somewhere that adds an entirely different dimension to dining in the city - a showcase of cuisine inspired by the American south. We recently tried out Southern Fare with some friends and we were all extremely impressed with the restaurant. My wife and I got there a bit earlier than our friends, so we sat at the bar for a bit. As someone who doesn't drink, I'm always excited to see mocktails on the menu. My wife got a cocktail, I got a mocktail, we both loved the drinks and the bartender was extremely nice and personable. We made a reservation for 6PM on a Saturday, although it seemed we probably didn't need one this day, so when our friends showed up, we were sat right away. Our friends ordered cocktails, while we ordered another round for ourselves, and again, loved everything we got. We ordered some friend green tomatoes for an appetizer, which were a little bland, but the sauce was good and made up for it. We all ordered a different main dish and everyone was very happy with their food. I ordered a pork chop special - I love pork chops, but don't eat them often, as my wife isn't a fan, and pork chops can be difficult to cook properly. The dish was a lemon marinated pork chop, grilled, topped with a strawberry compote, crispy fried potatoes and roasted broccoli. The pork chop was huge, cooked perfectly, juicy, bursting with flavor. The broccoli and potatoes were also delicious and needed nothing added to them. It's probably one of the best meals I've had in CNY, period. It was a little bit higher priced, but it's what we expected, and the food was absolutely worth it. We will absolutely be back again.

The fried chicken, same.. we got it plain to try it the first time naked, but I would definitely sauce it next time. Also ordered but not pictured was the double smash burger, Mac and cheese and chicken sandwich but my boys devoured them before I could take a picture.
