Great location on the south shore of Lake Ontario, with plenty of docks to pull up your boat. We came here because it's walking distance from a cottage we stayed at... the only restaurant/bar within walking distance. The place is large, inside there's lots of tables and a few couches to relax at, massive bar with about 50 seats... open air bar that over looks the lake. You can access the bar inside and out. Unfortunately only two bartenders were on and it was busy... service was slow but they were nice... not great with serving in order... be prepared to wait. Lots of great draft beer available I had a southern tier ipa... served in plastic cups.. understand why but prefer a glass. No need able service so back to the bar to order food, my table was served but I was not. Took awhile for the bartender to find/get my order out. They have a girl that brings out the food to numbers on your table and it was so unorganized. We actually felt bad for her, most of the time she would just come out and yell what she had..ugh There was entertainment the night we stopped in, Jon Lamanna was performing inside. He was good, very personable and interactive with the room. Seems like they have a lot of events inside and out. Large outside pavilion with plenty of seats and lounge chairs. Lawn games spread out.

Oh gosh..... this place has so much potential. BUT they are simply unorganized .......and understaffed. Unfortunately, everything starts at the bar. Do you want to drink, order from the bartender, you want to order food, order at the bar. Now there's only two bartenders in this very large bar space. And they certainly don't work in any order. I watched new people come up to the bar and have their order taken before mine and I am patiently standing there waiting to order my food. This doesn't work for me. Also, I told the younger bartender that the women's room was out of toilet paper and she was just too busy and overwhelmed to tell anybody. Later on I did tell the food runner and she was able to let the owner know. And he came out to change it. Meanwhile, they were women in the bathroom so he waited patiently outside. I'm not sure why the food runner girl couldn't change it while there was women in the bathroom alll waiting around. That would've made more sense to get the line moving. Just seems so unorganized. Jeez, where is Jon Taffer when you need him? This is a great location and one of the only restaurants nearby for some of these cottages on the water. It truly has so much potential, it just needs help and needs someone who knows how to run and manage a bar. It does not seem like anyone from this team Has experience in this manner.

We went here earlier this week for the first time. We were very happy that we found this place. Our server was beyond friendly and overall great. The cook/chef was also amazing. It's definitely our new favorite place. The wings were awesome with great flavor and I had the BBQ Pork Pizza and my wife had a calzone. Both were absolutely delicious. We'll be going back as often as possible.

Tried this place while out on a little local road trip. This restaurant is one of the only options in the area. It is located on Lake Ontario about 5 minutes from chimney bluffs park. There is plenty of parking across the street and tons of seating both inside and outside. There is a large food menu and you go to the bar to order. There is a very large selection of drinks at the bar as well. We decided to try two pizzas: the hell fire and the honey mustard chicken, both were really good and tasty. Pricing was a little steep but likely due to the remote location. Looks like it can get busy during the summer with live music but we went there on a Saturday the first weekend in June and there wasn't many people there. Worth a stop for lunch or a drink if in the area. Friendly staff. Dogs are allowed at outdoor seating. They even have water bowls inside on a shelf that you can use.

Ok so full disclosure, if I look a bit wiped out the family decided on a 3 mile hike through Chimney Bluffs State park. Woof I am tired. We stopped for lunch here at Pier Fifty-three for lunch. Is puppers are welcome outside on the deck overlooking Sodus Bay. Pretty much a self serve bar. Water bowls are by the front door ATM. Family had a seltzer and Yuengling and then Chicken Nachos and well done Plain wings. They seemed very happy with their choices. Pops was jammin to some Roll with the Changes (it was an embarrassing eyeroll from me). 4 paws from moi!

Very friendly service. Great place during Covid since it's all open with plenty of seating, or bring your own, or sit on your boat.

This place has become our weekend summer spot when we go boating on Lake Ontario. It conveniently has dock access for boaters who want to stop in for food and drinks. The pizzas are great, and I recommend the Margherita and House Favorite. Enjoy couch, table, bar, or picnic table seating with an open-air feel. There is also live music on a dedicated stage and food truck on the grounds. Overall great place for family and friends!

Came here for lunch today with a group of friends that my husband went to high school with, and their spouses, and two children. I'll start by saying we live in buffalo and are used to really good food. First, we drove right by the place. There is not really any sign on the building or in front of it, or near it with the restaurant name. Luckily my husband knows the area and google maps was on point. We walked in and were greeted right away which was nice. We said we were with a party coming in for a reservation and we were early. We were the only people here, it was dead. My husband ordered drinks from the bar while we waited for our friends. They were quite small and I was annoyed to learn later that they were $6 a piece, which seemed high for the size. They had some cornhole boards set up inside so we played a bit until our friends arrived. Once our whole party, we ordered food. Our friend who planned the lunch said she was surprised by the menu, because when she chose this place it was very large and today was only a page long, mostly featuring pizzas. I had signed up for their email list knowing we were coming, and got an email with a promo code, and no explanation. I asked our waitress who said it was for a pizza and an order of wings for $20. My husband I and ordered the siracha bbq wings and the house favorite pizza, which has honey mustard, chicken, and bacon on it. I'm glad we didn't pay full price for this food because we were not impressed. The pizza tasted like a frozen pizza. Very thin crust, cardboard type taste. The honey mustard was gelatinous goop on it that did not really function as a sauce. It was barely warm when it got to us. The wings were served on this skillet thing that burned the sauce, fused the wings to it, and literally melted the bottom of the Bleu cheese cup right out, seeping chemicals into the food. The sauce on the wings was super spicy for approximately one bite, then just tasted liked bbq. Also, they advertise gluten free crusts on the menu for their pizza, and after our party ordered three pizzas on this crust, we were told they only had two. They also were out of lettuce which knocked out any salad options on the small menu, entirely. And something that really threw me was the fact that they don't have plates. I got a sheet of parchment type paper as a plate. So odd. Things I liked: -Our waitress was wonderful. Very nice, accommodating and friendly. -the pitchers of water for the table were great -the building is beautiful. The space is huge. -they have cornhole, volleyball, footballs, crayons, coloring books etc. and the paper cloth was paper, great for coloring. I like activities. -the soap in the bathrooms This is probably a great place in the summer, being right on the bay. Maybe we just came in the wrong season. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things. I'm not sure. But honestly we don't live here and are unlikely to return.

Great location. Right on the water. The food was good. Not a ton of topping on the pizza. But did the trick. Wings were good as well. This place is great for the view and coming by boat.

These pies would totally hold their own in the sea of pizzeria/restaurants in New York City, easily!!! I highly recommend the Hell Fire pizza. The staff was very pleasant and the atmosphere was open and airy as big giant fans are blowing throughout (keeping the air cool and the bugs out) I think I'll be returning again before this vacation to Sodus Bay is over :)

Honestly really used too like this place they had really good food and now things have changed not sure what happened could be karma but not too happy with this years come out food wise. Recommend somewhere else.

My friend and I went to Chimney bluffs for the day from Buffalo and wanted somewhere quick to have a drink and a quick meal. We found this place and loved it! Such a beautiful location and the food was delicious. We also had our dog and they were more than welcoming! We will definitely come back here if we're ever in the area again. Definitely recommend!

We visited on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. During our visit there was a steady stream of customers coming in but it wasn't super busy. I'd imagine on a much warmer day it's probably quite busy as boaters can dock just steps from the entrance. Staff was very friendly. Casual atmosphere; patrons are a mix of locals, boaters and campers. There's a great view of the water. The menu is a bit limited but the food is good and the portions are large.

Awesome place. Pulled pork pizza is worth the drive. But the ambiance right on the water makes it one of our favorites in the area.

Many restaurants in town had long waits, so I was pleasantly surprised when we were able to walk right in... until I realized the place was nearly empty. There were two men playing pool and a couple of people sitting at the bar, and everyone seemed surprised to see us walk through the door. Our server was friendly and told us to sit anywhere. When I asked why it was so quiet, she explained it was the slow season. We looked over the menus and tried ordering chips and guacamole--only to learn they were out of guacamole. Next, we tried mozzarella sticks--also unavailable. As we looked for a third option, my son asked if their chicken wings used a dry rub. The server said she'd check with the cook... and went over to ask one of the guys playing pool. She returned to tell us he was not only the cook but also "a very good pool player." We then noticed no one in the restaurant had food in front of them, the air had a dingy smell, and the whole atmosphere felt off. At that point, we decided not to stay. Back in the car, I checked Yelp again and realized most of the glowing reviews were from five years ago. This might have been a great spot in the past, but based on our experience, it seems it's no longer the vibrant local hangout it once was. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it.

Things started off normally. We were seated promptly, although our server, one of the bartenders, seemed largely uninterested from the beginning. When she came back to take our order, she forgot to take mine and my daughter's, but added them at the end. Mistakes happen, so we didn't think much of it. What happened next was where the experience really went downhill. We ordered two appetizers and six entrées. Somehow, my salad and my daughter's cheeseburger arrived well before anyone else's food - and before either appetizer had even come out. The food runner, who turned out to be the most attentive, also failed to bring silverware. After waiting about 10 minutes without seeing our server, I finally had to walk to the bar to ask for utensils. Instead of simply helping, one of the other bartenders gave me a hard time for asking. When our server finally brought silverware, she sarcastically said, "I guess I'll have to fire the person who brought your food over." She then walked back behind the bar and joked about the situation with the other staff. Several members of my family overheard the comments as well. Being mocked after an obvious service failure was far more frustrating than the mistake itself. To be honest, as the only person of color in our party (the rest of my family is white), the way I was treated left me wondering whether unconscious bias may have played a role. I can't say that for certain, but it's an unfortunate feeling to leave a restaurant with, especially because I looked different from 99.9% of the rest of the clientele. Meanwhile, the rest of our party waited another 25 minutes before receiving their meals. Both appetizers and all of the entrées arrived at the same time, and my father-in-law's chicken sandwich came out prepared almost the exact opposite of how he ordered it. The only bright spot was one food runner who genuinely seemed to recognize that things had gone wrong and tried to help. Unfortunately, that professionalism was not shared by either bartender - one of whom was also our original server. One final note: the music was so loud that holding a normal conversation at the table was difficult. Overall, this was a disappointing experience from start to finish. Everyone can make mistakes, but how a restaurant responds to those mistakes says everything. In this case, the dismissive attitude and lack of professionalism were far more memorable than the food.
