The waitress was very nice & friendly, she forgot to put alcohol in our pain killer drink but we addressed it and that was resolved immediately. Pain killer was delicious too! The Tropical Burger is probably one of the most delicious burger I had in a long time, very juicy, very sweet (because of the pineapple), fresh, and I could tell the patty was nicely cooked. Great place to grab a good drink and healthy bites on the Boardwalk! This cute bar/restaurant is located perfectly near the amusement park on the CB Boardwalk. Downstairs is a bar with lots of windows to easily serve people inside and outside passing by. In addition to the bar, there are also a few tables inside on the first floor. On the second floor, there are some cute sitting areas and tables as well as a bar. The couple of times that I've been to the bar hasn't been open, so I'm not sure when it's open regularly. In addition, there isn't table-side service on the 2nd floor most of the time, so you'll either need to order on the first floor or the rooftop and tell them you're going to sit there, and a server will bring it to you. The rooftop has a small bar and tables, and barstools around, so you have a great view of the boardwalk. The drinks they have are really cute, but they also have a full bar, so you can order what you'd like. Now for the food...if you're looking for fresh and healthy options, this is the place to go! Although they've got yummy options all around, you can also find vegan options as well as fresh veggie and protein-packed options. I've had egg rolls, Under the Sea, and The Buffalo fry bowl (substituted crunchy egg roll nacho chips instead of fries). All were delicious! I love the options, and you can tell that the food is fresh. This is a must when I'm in Carolina Beach. read more

Food was very good (rolls a little greasy but to be expected bc they are fried of course). Flavors were really good. I personally liked the Rangoon rolls the best. Mule was amazing with the fresh lime juice. My toddler loved the slushy. Vibe was great. Service was great. Troy was our server/bar tender and was doing a great job tending to everyone by himself. Checked out this new place on a Friday early evening and there were quite a bit busy. Interior is modern, they haven't fully decorated as their paintings/pictures were still on the floor leaning against the wall. There are 3 levels total and no elevators, only 2 different staircases. I was able to leave my stroller on the ground floor by the bar. The 3rd level is roof top and maximum capacity is 40 people. They have staff manning the third level entrance to make sure that it doesn't go over capacity. There is a bar on the ground level and the third level. The second level has drinks on tap. If you want more of a seating dining area, then that's the second level (6 tables). The ground level had 2 small tables, one table for two, designated for handicap and two open tables outdoors. The third level has two open tables. I'm sure they're working out the kinks but they had at one point 10 people just standing around on the second floor waiting to go on the third floor. So it was very loud and chaotic trying to eat in peace on the 2nd floor. At least the second floor had AC and ceiling fans. The food is casual snack kind of meals, nothing fancy. Just deep fried egg rolls and bowls. We tried the Fancey bowl (vegan), Frenchie bowl, and Burgalicious egg roll. They were served in to-go, seemed like biodegradable material. The Fancey bowl was okay. The Frenchie bowl and Burgalicious egg roll were both good. The fries in the Frenchie bowl were crispy and the eggroll was fried well. The frozen alcohol drinks in mason jars looked really good, but unfortunately, they couldn't make a mocktail out of it. High chairs are available and their highchair was actually impressive. It was a lot nicer and fancier than the usual. It was a munchkin highchair with a tray table and foot rest. Bathrooms are only available in the second level. Staff were very nice. If you're looking for a quick no-frills snack kind of meal or a casual place to get some drinks, then this place might be for you. read more

Even when there was just 1 bartender downstairs during fireworks + a crowd, he never dropped the ball. Can't recommend enough!!! We found our way here on a rainy March day. Service was quick to attend to us and check on us throughout our time there. We headed to a lounge area in the second floor, complete with comfy sofas, chairs and an electric fireplace. They had a very inventive cocktail selection and the wait staff offered to make my husband a smoky Old Fashioned even though that was not on the menu...this made my husband ecstatic, as that is his FAVORITE drink. I ordered a cocktail called the Dirty Cindy, made with a spicy Rum. I got to keep the glass, a plastic version of a mason jar with the bar logo. My drink tasted great and I enjoyed the spicy notes on the finish. We did order an appetizer of queso and egg roll style chips. The queso flavor was good, but it was a bit thin (I like my queso on the thicker side, so it doesn't keep dripping off the chips) and making a mess). That was really my only complaint though. Definitely worth checking out...on a clear (non-rainy day), there is apparently a third level with a view of the ocean--that would be cool to try out sometime. read more

I also ordered a side of fries. That Jalapeño Face roll was probably the best thing I ate during the entire trip!! My husband also really enjoyed his egg rolls - he said the pulled pork and the macaroni and cheese went very well with the barbecue vinaigrette (McLovin'). Downstairs has outside and inside bar, middle floor is a retro themed space with comfortable seating, and the rooftop has lots of space and amazing views. We were in Carolina Beach, NC last week and were souvenir shopping at the Boardwalk as any visitor might do. Lunch was at Tropical CB. We expected typical bar food but were very pleasantly surprised. Meals ranged from veggie salads to spicy burgers, chicken sandwiches, and shrimp and grits. I personally don't like grits but figured I would give it a try. I was so pleasantly surprised. Great flavor, very filling and at least a dozen shrimp. We enjoyed it so much that we went back during our return to the Boardwalk for the Thursday night concert.
