The food was fabulous. I was consistently impressed with the freshness of ALL the ingredients. Perhaps it helped that I wasn't sure what was in store for us when we entered with a large group of adults and kids; we were looking for a brunch spot, and were surprised to see a collection of couches and armchairs. It lent to a cozy vibe, and our terrorizer kids even chilled out a little. Highly recommend the flight of mimosa bombs (they were delightfully strong and equal to about 1 drink in volume!), and the all-you can eat brunch--but only if you want Diane to give you a magical experience with deliciousness coming out your ears. Bacon is crisp, FRIED CHICKEN PUTS CHICK FIL-A to damn shame, eggs were made with lots of yummy butter, the grill lends a nice char and toast to the sourdoughs and avocado toasts, the fruit in the parfaits were very freshly cut and prepared--the entire experience was handmade as we ordered, and any wait was WELL worth it once we got to chowing down! Diane was welcoming, extremely adaptable to our situation, and frankly cared about our experience. She might be a little overworked but; The rest of the town is full of the rudest service crews... Located in main area of this beach town with a small inside seating area, and a larger upstairs bar/seating (cool for fireworks or for listening to band on bandstand or just people watching), and a bar area with stools on the outside and inside. Service here was terrific. Just super friendly and very nice. They are always making sure you are good and are just striking up conversations. Very lovely environment due to the people. We only ordered drinks. They do have food though. We got the CB Blue that was tasty and you get to keep the plastic mason jar it is in. Also ordered a Deep Eddys lemon vodka and club that was good. They have tons of slushies (non alcoholic and alcoholic), as well as beers and many mixed drinks. read more

We chose this place for its rooftop views of the beach and the fair. The service was quick, but they did not tell us it was last call and promptly closed the bar at 9:45. The space between the bar and the rail is maybe 2 bodies deep so we didn't get to walk around and really enjoy the view. The drinks were good, and the place was hopping. I would definitely pop by for 1 drink again, but I wouldn't make this my destination bar for an evening. read more

I saw the egg rolls advertised so I wanted to give them a try. I decided to go and sit on the rooftop. The rooftop has bar and table seating. It has a great view of the and the ocean. It's the best view! I couldn't decide between the hermie and the cluck Norris so I ordered the hermie! It was soo flavorful. The hermie is delicious!!! So good that I decided to get the cluck Norris. It was really good. After two I was nice and full. I don't remember the name of the man working there but he had great customer service skills. He recommended one of the best sellers for egg rolls. I have visited Carolina Beach for many years and this was by far our best experience to date. My wife, sister-in-law, and I stopped in for an early lunch on Monday August 17, 2026 while on vacation. Two steps in the door and we are happily greeted. We sat at the downstairs bar. Service from the owner, and then the manager was superb. The food? Excellent! My sister-in-Law stated that the BLT she ordered was the best she had ever had. My wife and I took to the Egg Rolls for which they have several categories to order from. I had the Rocky egg rolls and my wife had the Southwest and Crab Rangoon. The Session IPA they had on Tap was very, very good and paired wonderfully with the egg rolls. Very cute little spot by the boardwalk, open air, it has three floors - a main bar on first floor with restaurant tables, second floor has an additional lounge, third floor has an additional bar with a wonderful beach view. The waitress was very nice & friendly, she forgot to put alcohol in our pain killer drink but we addressed it and that was resolved immediately. Pain killer was delicious too! The Tropical Burger is probably one of the most delicious burger I had in a long time, very juicy, very sweet (because of the pineapple), fresh, and I could tell the patty was nicely cooked. Great place to grab a good drink and healthy bites on the Boardwalk! This cute bar/restaurant is located perfectly near the amusement park on the CB Boardwalk. Downstairs is a bar with lots of windows to easily serve people inside and outside passing by. In addition to the bar, there are also a few tables inside on the first floor. On the second floor, there are some cute sitting areas and tables as well as a bar. The couple of times that I've been to the bar hasn't been open, so I'm not sure when it's open regularly. In addition, there isn't table-side service on the 2nd floor most of the time, so you'll either need to order on the first floor or the rooftop and tell them you're going to sit there, and a server will bring it to you. The rooftop has a small bar and tables, and barstools around, so you have a great view of the boardwalk. The drinks they have are really cute, but they also have a full bar, so you can order what you'd like. Now for the food...if you're looking for fresh and healthy options, this is the place to go! Although they've got yummy options all around, you can also find vegan options as well as fresh veggie and protein-packed options. I've had egg rolls, Under the Sea, and The Buffalo fry bowl (substituted crunchy egg roll nacho chips instead of fries). All were delicious! I love the options, and you can tell that the food is fresh. This is a must when I'm in Carolina Beach. read more

Checked out this new place on a Friday early evening and there were quite a bit busy. Interior is modern, they haven't fully decorated as their paintings/pictures were still on the floor leaning against the wall. There are 3 levels total and no elevators, only 2 different staircases. I was able to leave my stroller on the ground floor by the bar. The 3rd level is roof top and maximum capacity is 40 people. They have staff manning the third level entrance to make sure that it doesn't go over capacity. There is a bar on the ground level and the third level. The second level has drinks on tap. If you want more of a seating dining area, then that's the second level (6 tables). The ground level had 2 small tables, one table for two, designated for handicap and two open tables outdoors. The third level has two open tables. I'm sure they're working out the kinks but they had at one point 10 people just standing around on the second floor waiting to go on the third floor. So it was very loud and chaotic trying to eat in peace on the 2nd floor. At least the second floor had AC and ceiling fans. The food is casual snack kind of meals, nothing fancy. Just deep fried egg rolls and bowls. We tried the Fancey bowl (vegan), Frenchie bowl, and Burgalicious egg roll. They were served in to-go, seemed like biodegradable material. The Fancey bowl was okay. The Frenchie bowl and Burgalicious egg roll were both good. The fries in the Frenchie bowl were crispy and the eggroll was fried well. The frozen alcohol drinks in mason jars looked really good, but unfortunately, they couldn't make a mocktail out of it. High chairs are available and their highchair was actually impressive. It was a lot nicer and fancier than the usual. It was a munchkin highchair with a tray table and foot rest. Bathrooms are only available in the second level. Staff were very nice. If you're looking for a quick no-frills snack kind of meal or a casual place to get some drinks, then this place might be for you. read more

Mule was amazing with the fresh lime juice. My toddler loved the slushy. Vibe was great. Service was great. Troy was our server/bar tender and was doing a great job tending to everyone by himself. We visit Carolina Beach every year, and this might be our new favorite restaurant. We went 3 days in a row and everything was great every time - food, drinks, service - all of it! Even when there was just 1 bartender downstairs during fireworks + a crowd, he never dropped the ball. Can't recommend enough!!! We loved the bulgogi bowl, the bibimbap bowl, the balboa fry bowl, and the kids chicken with mac and cheese! Best Miami vice drink in CB!! Looking forward to visiting next year as well. read more

We found our way here on a rainy March day. Service was quick to attend to us and check on us throughout our time there. We headed to a lounge area in the second floor, complete with comfy sofas, chairs and an electric fireplace. They had a very inventive cocktail selection and the wait staff offered to make my husband a smoky Old Fashioned even though that was not on the menu...this made my husband ecstatic, as that is his FAVORITE drink. I ordered a cocktail called the Dirty Cindy, made with a spicy Rum. I got to keep the glass, a plastic version of a mason jar with the bar logo. My drink tasted great and I enjoyed the spicy notes on the finish. We did order an appetizer of queso and egg roll style chips. The queso flavor was good, but it was a bit thin (I like my queso on the thicker side, so it doesn't keep dripping off the chips) and making a mess). That was really my only complaint though. Definitely worth checking out...on a clear (non-rainy day), there is apparently a third level with a view of the ocean--that would be cool to try out sometime. read more

We went to Carolina Beach for a family trip, and of course, we had to stop by the Boardwalk. After walking around for a while, we got hungry. We walked into The Tropical after checking out their menu online... best decision we could have made! We ended up on the second floor and got lucky it was empty - they just finished up a party. The dining room was nice and cool - a welcome break from the heat. ** There are three floors in the establishment: 1st Floor - South Beach Bar, 2nd Floor - Midtown Dining Room, 3rd Floor - Rooftop Bar.** My husband and I ordered 3 egg rolls (we saved $1 each by ordering them together) - I chose The Jalapeño Face, my husband ordered The McLovin' and The Rocky. I also ordered a side of fries. That Jalapeño Face roll was probably the best thing I ate during the entire trip!! My husband also really enjoyed his egg rolls - he said the pulled pork and the macaroni and cheese went very well with the barbecue vinaigrette (McLovin'). Not to be outdone... the fries were crispy and delicious! (And the spicy ranch sooooo good! SO good!) Our kids ordered the fried chicken and fries - they enjoyed their food as well.
