Rating for its offerings: ok to good. Everything is clean and up to date. Rating for its selling of your clothes: bad. I brought in an evening gown that had never been worn and had paid $150 for it. Of course I got too fat or it got too small so I brought it in to be sold. They sold it for $14 and I got $7 for it. That was a good deal for someone. Not me. Never again. read more

This store has good sales. You can find bargains. But there are serious drawbacks. Please, be warned if you decide to sell your fashion items here. There are increasing problems with getting paid. As others have said, the staff who work here are shockingly rude to customers. I've experienced it and witnessed it. The manager tried to remedy this by forcing the workers at the register to say hello to everyone who walks in. Sometimes, they will say the mandatory hello without even looking at you. It's not a good situation. If you sell on consignment, you may experience lowballing, errors that result in your item being sold on another customer's account, and unexplained delays in payment. All three of these things have happened to me. If you go in and talk to the staff, they will gaslight you as if you have the problem, not them. There has been a new level of delay on payment that is very concerning. Hundreds of dollars are not being paid out on time (months late) with no good reason offered. read more

Not really a fan. I have been here three times and now feel I can honestly review . I feel like they have more of a selection at clothes mentor, and some of the pieces are quite outdated. it might be worth coming here to look for special occasion dresses. I also was not greeted at the store, or asked if I needed any help despite the store not being busy at all. I probably would pass. I saw a few pairs of Hudson jeans that were priced very affordable, but I will stick to some of the other consignment shops with me more current styles . read more

Mom and I love shopping at consignment shops so while we were out on an adventure, 1 hour from home (Sterling Heights) we decided to stop in and visit this store...boy, are we glad we made the stop. As far as women's clothing and accessories goes, it doesn't get any better than this consignment shop. Everything is clean, very high-end and there is plenty of it priced to sell. Like many consignment shops, this store is located in an inconspicuous strip mall, located off of 7 Mile near Northville Road. 9 months ago I purchased from Clothing Cove in Milford a top and a pair of pants, brand SimplI. I wore 1 x . I paid $175 for top and $125 for pants. Mid August I took to this establishment. At day 20 I called to see if items had sold. I was told yes and I could come in at anytime to get my cash totaling $8.75. Really, my take on $300 is $8.75. she says yes, it was not sold as 2 items but as a 2 piece item. Never Again read more

Large selection with a mix of mall brands, boutique brands, and designer labels. Great prices and always a sale going on. However, the staff is so weirdly cold and unfriendly (aside from the young lady working the fitting room who was incredibly kind and patient with customers). It's really a turn off and I won't be returning because of that. read more

About a year ago, I brought in a few select things that I hadnt used but maybe once. They were all designer things and nothing was more than 3 yrs old. Even though I told them when I was coming in, I waited almost an hour. Then, some snotty lady looked at them and said "oh my that looks tired". I dont think Ill ever forget her comments, esp. since the shoes she pointed out hadnt been worn but once and I came home and found them on Macys site (forwarded it to her). This place is by far the best consignment shop in the Metro Detroit area to shop in! They have a ton of clothes (women's only), and everything they sell is in good or great shape, with lots of new-with-tags clothing. They offer a large selection of designer items, including some couture. Their prices are very reasonable. I always walk out feeling like I got a great deal. For example, today I got three complete designer outfits for $58.00. They have regular sales and specials for their regular customers, so if you visit, it is worth getting on their mailing list. I don't consign clothes to them, so I can't speak to that experience. read more

This place is good if you want to buy things, but if you are trying to consign anything you are better off to go somewhere else. I tried to take 3 brand new Loft pieces there (only work a couple times each, washed and hung on dry cleaning hangers) and they only wanted one. Why? Because the "inside tag doesn't look new." I'm sorry what? The inside tag? No thanks. Plus they charge a set up fee for your account. I'll be returning to my old consignment store. So much for trying something new. read more

I have shopped in this store often. Usually I shop on my lunch hour so I don't try things on. Recently I purchased several items that I took home and they didn't fit. I decided to bring them in to consign them and hopefully make a little money back. Much to my surprise I was snobbed out and told the clothes were out of date. This is my all time favorite consignment store! I have been shopping here for over 15 years. They have a designer room with upscale brands with shoes, dresses, pants, blouses, purses and jewelry. Everything is very organized and easy to browse. They have 6 fitting rooms available, but no public restroom so keep that in mind before you visit. They often have daily deals for paying cash like 15% off or sometimes 20% off. Allow yourself some time so you can browse through everything. Highly recommended! Why pay full prices at the mall or boutiques when you can come here and get a whole new wardrobe for half the price? read more

I am a fan of Consignment Clothiers for two reasons: 1. They sell St. John, Christian LaCroix, Dolce and other upscale clothing brands. 2. The prices are awesome considering they are consignment which tends to be overpriced. The ladies at Consignment Clothiers are cool too. Recently, I purchased a willi b. smith skirt with tags for $8. My friend found a pair of pants with a leather belt by St. John's for $51 bucks. That is the deal of the century because a pair of pants can start at $200 and up. Clothing is in excellent condition. My drawback is the overly packed clothing racks, which I detest but I am willing to pick because they have many great finds. A clothing rack meant for 30 items is packed with 60 which does not make for an enjoyable shopping experience. TIP: Be prepared to mangle and wrestle with picking packed clothing racks and be shoulder to elbows with people. Consignment Clothiers is in dire need of a larger location or scale back on the amount of people/items they allow for consignment. read more

I have been going to CC for years. The service is outstanding, the clothing high-end, the pay-out fair. I took away one star for the length of time for the pay-out. I recently sold a fur jacket there in record time, and have to wait almost one month for the pay-out. Alas, maybe that's standard in resale shops but would have thought the turnaround for pay-outs would be sooner than one month. Worth visiting, for sure. read more

This was truly a hidden gem. High quality, practically new clothing. I was pleased when I came across a rack that had many great clothing items for a dollar! I went on a Sunday, and each item I purchased was buy one get one free :) That was a nice little surprise :) The only downside to this store is that they do not carry mens clothing. I've never really been a big fan of shopping at Consignment stores. But, I thought I would give this one a try since my girlfriend has been shopping here for years. I can't believe that I left out with two Clara Sun Woo blouses/tops and a pair of jeans for $50. This review is as a seller of clothing. Bottom line: If you are looking to get good money out of your items, sell elsewhere. If you are looking to even get a couple bucks out of your items as opposed to donating them, this store is useful. I have been consigning clothing, bags and jewelry here for almost a year. I found the staff to be friendly and super helpful the first time consigning. Given the fact that this store is in Northville, I was surprised that they are not keen on clothing classic basics, even if brand name and new with tags. After having been in the store numerous times, I see why. The average customer does not exhibit a classic style, rather a trendy one. The store is bursting at seams with inventory, and seems to hold sales quite often. If selling, I would pay attention to the sale schedule and drop off after a sale. If I knew how low some of my items would sell (new with tags), I would have just donated them. Tips based on my experience: Check website for days/times they take items. They will turn you away at the door if you show up on the wrong day. Take photos of the items you dropped off and the bag if you have one. Note the date. More times than not, they have not gone through my items by the "no thank you" pickup date. It's a real hit or miss. Because of this, I encourage sellers to find someone who will look for your items and not give you the standard "It's past the pickup date, they've been donated" line. You can show them the photos of what you dropped off. Another reason to keep photos is pickup of accepted items when the sale date is up. You have to find your own items on the floor, and have a staff member take them off the inventory (not all do this). Just ask for a printout of your account at the drop off counter. You'll find that the descriptions are not very descriptive, so you'll need some time to figure out what you are looking for. The drop off date with your photos can be helpful. Store associates are not available for assistance finding your items. Bags and accessories could be anywhere in the store. Clothing is a bit easier to find. I do not recommend consigning jewelry here. I have found 2 of my items tagged and displayed in the jewelry case without my consignor number on it. The staff member did not seem concerned about it, unfortunately. There were items that did not sell, and I could not find...even before the sale expiration date. I do not know if they were stolen (easy to happen given how crowded the store is), or if my number was not placed on the items. Overall, it's worth the effort if you have a lot of clothing to unload, and you are local. Given their restrictions on drop off and pick up hours, if you don't already regularly drive by the store, it's not worth the hassle or drive. read more

My review is based on actually selling my clothes, not shopping here. My experience may be dated, it's from 2009 to 2010. When I first came, they were very friendly, helped me set up an account, asked me why I was selling, etc. The first couple bundles of clothes that I brought in for Consignment was done by a woman in the back, she quickly said yes or no and why right in front of me. This process seemed very fair. They told me to come back in 60 days to see what sold, collect non-sold items and my profit. I would say the first 5 or 6 months of selling with them went well. Then all of a sudden, every time I came in, I had to drop my items off and come back in two hours. One time I waited, and could hear the women in the back mocking everything I brought in (most items were similar to what was on the floor already, including one dress which was identical to one in the window). They only took 1 item to sell. I also had a fleece vest come up missing, which they claim I never brought in (one time when I left for two hours like they requested). Needless to say, I only went back to collect my money after that. I decided to stick to eBay, even though it can be a hassle. I always see a ton of people here shopping, but I could never find anything. read more

I love to shop and sell to Consignment Clothiers! I am 20 years old and my mother is 60 and we can BOTH find something we like! I found my favorite suit there. Get this, Nanette Lepore wool two piece suit for under $50!! I have also sold to CC, they give you a good deal for your gently used clothes and accessories. The store is a little crowded and the back room for consigning is messy but I guess that's to be expected when a store gets so many sellers. read more

I agree 100% with Stine's rating and review of this consignment shop. The same exact thing happened to me. When they first opened, they were very helpful and friendly. The last time I brought my items in, the woman in the back (with the long straight dark hair) was so incredibly rude to me, I will NEVER go back. She greeted me with a frown, looked me up and down, and stated that they ONLY take in clothing that are recent styles. I wanted to say, "I hate to break this to you lady, but I purchased these items from YOUR STORE just last week, but they just didn't fit very well!" Unreal .... especially from someone who wears pretty much the same thing every time I saw her (black skirt, dark blouse/or sweater, and talk black boots). Where is her sense of style? A bit out of the way in a strip mall, but a jewel of a store. There is a ton of selection, which can be a double edged sword. While there is a lot to chose from, the organization is sometimes not amazing, and you end up circling the store a few times to find what it is you might be looking for. For someone in their 20's the clothes can occasionally be a bit older, but they are all high quality, and there are plently of younger looking clothes as well. I have some of my favorite dresses that I wear over and over again from here. I have never sold anything to them so I can't say how they are on that end. The staff are nice, and when you pay in cash you get a discount! My only small complaint would be that the dressing room curtains (the ones that keep you from exposing yourself) are not wide enough. There are small gaps between the curtain and the wall. While I've never had any sortof incident it just makes me nervous. One of my favorite stores! Make a visit here! read more

This store is the best used clothing store in the metro area. It consistently has the widest selection of clothing in good condition, including a lot of brand new items. I always walk out making a purchase, as opposed to other stores in the area, which lack the selection and can be really hit or miss. The prices are reasonable; you can walk out with multiple new outfits for the cost of one new piece from another retailer. I've received several compliments on the clothing I've purchased here. An excellent resale clothing store. They have convenient hours and lots of merchandise. As with any consignment store, you can never be sure what you will find. But they are selective about what they will take. Prices are good. There is usually a good selection of designer bags. I find it so much fun to go to the check out to purchase something and finding out it is free because they have sold some of my items. I do agree with another reviewer that the dressing room curtains do not provide for much privacy. Be sure to take cash. While they do take credit cards there is usually a discount for cash. read more

This is such an awesome store to shop at. I have been to several consignment shops in the metro Detroit area and this store is by far the best. The selection is great! I am 25 years old and I always find something amazing there. The prices are crazy cheap; I got Chanel pants there for $50! For the first time in my life I am able to actually afford amazing designer items. The selection changes daily it seems like and I always find something every time I stop in. My favorite store in Michigan! I usually spend 2-3 hours each visit going through all the rack of beautiful clothes. I have a spare closet filled with designer clothes from here that had to be 50-90% less than what you'd find at the mall. I live about 45 minutes away from this store but it's worth the trip! I found this place in 2003 & it's the first place I check for formal wear, designer purses & designer sunglasses. The staff if always friendly & patient with me even when I have 30 plus items to purchase & a line starts forming behind me. Love the fact it's open 7 days a week. Well worth the drive!! read more
