I like this place. It's a dive bar in the central district where dysfunctional alcoholics and neighborhood folk can come and play ping pong and drink their troubles away. The food is ok, nothing to rave about, but you don't come here to have an exceptional meal. They have a big patio that has to close at 10:30 unfortunately due to neighbors. When it is open though and nice out, it's great to have a spot to go outside. My only complaint about this place is a few of the bartenders. Especially a notoriously rude asian bartender. I've been going to this bar for years, since it was located on Madison. I agree with other people that ordering a drink can feel like asking someone to give you one of their vital organs. They rush you, treat you like a bitch, or just completely ignore you. No one I know likes the bartender I mentioned, and most of the people that work there don't like her either. There are a couple other bartenders that are notorious for completely ignoring customers as well. I really hope these shitty bartenders get fired soon so everyone can breathe a sigh of relief when they just want to get another beer. Given that it is located in a sketchy part of town, I have to say, it was a pretty good time. Music was good, (all 80's), descent beer selection, and they do have bar food, fried food that is. What ever you want fry it up, its here. I would have only given this bar 3 stars, because the service was not that great. (you had to go up to the bartender every time. (And its a place, with approx. 75 max capacity. Descent size). However, they do have shuffle board so that makes up for the service. If your in the neighborhood, check it out. This is like the secret club house for White People in the CD! It's a couple blocks from Garfield HS and the entrance is tucked down an alley, but as soon as you step inside your surrounded by hipsters having a few drinks after doing their part to gentrify the neighborhood. 'Course, I'm a gentrifying white person with occasional hipster pretensions, so this place is perfect for me. Reasonably priced drinks and good bar food combine with a fun-but-laid-back atmosphere to make this a favorite bar of mine. I can't really speak to the perceived politeness of the staff, but the place is always busy, so I wouldn't expect intimate service from the bartenders. They're busy folks, so if you're looking for someone to unload your troubles on, bring a friend with you, 'cause the bartenders don't have the time here. read more

This bar is the best dive bar I have been to in town. It's qwirky from start to finish with the entrance being in the side-alley way to the $1.50 PBR on tap. Twilight Exit has the most eclectic crowd of any bar I have been too since I moved here - which was one of the best features of this place. There is tons of space and a great place to hang out with a large group or that special someone...or a dog...yeah, there was a dog there all night that acted like he worked there. I'd give it a 4 if it wasn't for how much I miss the old location and menu. No longer the dive that I loved so much with chicken fried bacon, it's still a decent place to grab a burger and drinks. We had a great time at the Twilight Exit this summer for my friend's birthday party, and the staff didn't even have a problem when we brought in Ezell's fried chicken from up the street. The outdoor seating is beautiful in the summer time, and there's even some spots to find shade out there if you're worried about getting a sunburn. There are also fun games to play, arcade games and even a shuffleboard table (I love shuffle board). There's also a vending machine with ping pong balls in it in case you want to start up a drinking game. The service was okay, and the in house food was your typical bar fare, but what really put the Twilight Exit over time top as some place I'll almost certainly come back to is that free (free?) gigantic mug of booze that you get for having your birthday there. This place is crowded and dark in a neighborhood that is not the best, sadly it is the only bar in the neighborhood which by default makes it our go to spot. They do have some amazing deals though and happy hour goes til 8 every day of the week which is just crazy. 3$ beer. Plus the tator tots here are so good, not sure why. I hear the rest of the food is good too. Burgers are supposedly quite tasty and there is a vegetarian option which some people I know eat with bacon and peanut butter, strange if you ask me. They seem to have a different soup every time I come as well. I love the mural outside on the wall. Plus the games are fun if you need a break for sitting and talking. Galagas did keep dying in the middle of our game, but it just made us feel cooler to continually keep getting the high score. This is the new home of the Twilight and luckily they've preserved most of the atmosphere of the old place. Things have been cleaned up a bit and it's a little tighter seating but a lot of the old art is back on the wall. I'm really impressed how quickly they pulled off the move! The Twilight Exit is definitely one of my favorite dives. If you ever need a stuck in the 80s bar, this is it....complete with all the music for your butt rock needs. PARKING: Unmetered street parking. LOCATION: This bar resides in the Central District neighborhood. AMBIENCE/DECOR: If you're a Gen Xer, there will be lots of lights, paintings, and bric-a-brac that will have you thinking to yourself, "I remember this (from when I was a kid)". Most of the time, I'm here it's 80s hair band music that's play. This is a great place for a retro vibe. Or you can go outside. PATIO: This is a fully fenced in patio with no view of anything special. But when you're just looking for a place to soak in that Vitamin E, it will work. There is a bend towards nautical goodies hung around. FOOD: Bar food. But it's good bar food. I gotta give props to the owner. They make alot of their stuff in house. They have rotating food specials. Their burgers are bomb. Their salads are bomb. Their food is good. This is definitely a place to go if you're hungry. BOOZE/BEER: Not the greatest selection of beer here. They have the vitals as far as hard liquor goes. You won't find a weak drink here. Overall, this is one solid dive that has it all. This has definitely worked into my list of regular visits and places to take someone for their first time. read more

There's usually a decent size crowd and the patrons are friendly too. There patio is great for summertime. I like the eclectic art and vintage lamps. I'd never thought to write about Twilight, but I went there tonight and had such a nice bartender that just that alone made me want to say a lil' something nice. So.... yeah... she was super cool! But I also got to meet the owner of Twilight, who for some reason I never thought of as a real person, and he was cool too! My co-worker and I went out for drinks and were pleasantly surprised to find that they have an outside patio! It's open til 9 out of respect for the neighbors, but HELL YEAH, the patio is so well planned out. Seriously man, I comend you on that one. Love it! Great drinks (yum whiskey sour... strong and yet tasty) and atmosphere, really fun Sunday night karaoke scene (some people can actually sing... how neat), a cool place with cool people. They also have trivia at 7:30pm on Tuesdays for $3, but be warned, it is strictly pop culture. So if you spent your young adulthood reading Dostoevsky at some bougie liberal arts college and don't know shit about mainstream America, you will probably not do too hot. On the bright side, if you suck, losers get a free drink ticket!! Yes... "free drink" ... what could be better than that?? Well, maybe winning... they get the pot. I loved the old Twilight, right next to my work. Now they have moved right next to my home (well, almost)! The happy hour drink prices are a super deal, and the menu is great for a dive. Tater tots! Also, chicken fried bacon, which I don't eat, but c'mon. The ambiance is still totally dive, but maybe a tad less dusty. The space seems smaller & louder, which I don't prefer, but is still fun. I never used it, but am sad to see no more pool table, and the games are sorta separated from the general public. Still a great crowd. read more

I love you so dearly twilight exit. I used to live just down the street and needed a bar that I could stumble home from, and checked the map and there was Twilight Exit. So naturally we went there and had a great experience. They have incredibly tasty tater tots. I haven't tried any of their other food, but my friends swear by it. Drinks are stiff and decent priced, the atmosphere was what we like to call "kick ass" and "fun" If you're in the area, stop by, grab a drink and tots and pet their dog. Great food, good drinks, great staff, awesome atmosphere. What more could you ask for? The new Twilight Exit has an incredible menu, I've tried quite a few items, and would order any of them again, including the chicken fried bacon, tater tots, steak salad, hamburger, chicken burger, bleu cheese fries, cobb salad and more. The portions are just right, not so much that when you leave you feel that you've over eaten and not so little that when you're done your hankering for a big mac. The bartenders are sweet and friendly, after only a few times of going they know our drinks and take wild guesses as to what we want to eat. Lots of good bantering back and forth. The whole atmosphere is very conducive to being a fantastic neighborhood pub. The interior is interesting. I can only imagine that this is what my grandparent's 'rec' room looked like in the 70's, the only missing part is the orange shag carpeting. The TE also has a great outdoor area, perfect for those long warm summer nights. Finally they have a GREAT happy hour (s!) from open until 8, draft beer is $3, wells are $2.5, and pbr is $1.5. read more

Love this place. Everyone who works there is friendly and in my opinion they make the best bar food in Seattle, and probably the best fried mozzarella I've had anywhere.
