Carrot Cake? This one is the best. Be aware that there is coconut in the icing. Some people aren't crazy about coconut. I love it just the way they make it. They used to make a fabulous chocolate malt curl cake, but it must be so time consuming cause they don't carry it anymore. My absolute favorite is the cinnamon chip muffins. They have huge flat tops and the chips are crunchy. I have to fight my husband over them. They sell out fast so I order a dozen at a time, This booth is in the strafford farmers market. They do BEAUTIFUL cakes! We got our cakes here for my daughter's first AND second birthdays, and they do such a great job! I wanted to make my Aunt Rose's 95th Birthday special. She is such a wonderful woman and so vivacious for her age, actually any age! I live in LA so I emailed them and they assured me not to worry, they would deliver the cake to Havertown. They arrived on time with a beautiful cake and even brought flowers. My Aunt Rose was moved to tears! She couldn't stop smiling! What amazing service and the cake tasted so good!!! They are not the same owners as Ardmore. So don't confuse the two. Just celebrated my daughters 4th birthday with an Ursula themed bash. I was struggling a little to find a cake place that could make a really cool, yummy, but not unaffordable cake. Found Ultimate Bake Shoppe by accident while walking through the farmers market. Stephanie did an AMAZING job on this cake. Ursula was hand painted and she had fondant tentacles curling around the sides. Blueberry crum. Nowhere near their Ultimate. Chocolate walnut... Dry and stale. Then tried their store in the Ardmore Farmers Market. Four times the selection and 20% cheaper !! Strolling past their stall at the market I noticed that the cakes in their case had a look that felt to me like something more than ordinary sugary cake and grainy ersatz icing. So I asked the counterperson a few questions to try and flesh-out whether this was worth a try. Being impressed and with a degree of confidence from her responses, I tried a Cafe Mocha cake for my wife and me. When we finally waited for it to reach room temp we dug in and were quickly impressed by the butter cream frosting. It had a really smooth mocha flavor, and the cake layers were, many, and discreet strata of fine rich cake seemingly lightly bathed in a nice syrup, and the whole thing just came together so well in the overall flavor department, that we ate the entire thing that afternoon and evening. It really was as fine as any confectionery we have enjoyed on this continent or any other. I am so happy to have tried this cake, because I love cake, but only really scratch-made delicious ones like this. Can't wait for next time. Live on. read more

I recently got married and Stephanie made our cake! Nearly every guest at the wedding came up to myself or my husband asking where was the cake from, telling us that it was delicious. (She also did the cupcakes that were displayed in the shape of a wedding gown (designed to look like my dress no-less!) that were served at my bridal shower. Rave reviews there as well.) My husband and I went for our wedding cake tasting at the Farmers Market, and let me tell you what a positive and fun experience we had. We tasted all kinds of cakes, along with icing, as well as all kinds of different fillers for layers. Both Stephanie and Adele whom we met with couldn't have been nicer. Stephanie designed a cake PERFECT for us and our guests. I will post pictures of both the shower cupcakes and the wedding cake once I get them on my computer. The prices were right, and the service outstanding. And most importantly, the QUALITY was awesome. The vanilla fluff cake with cream cheese icing is what we went with for our cake. and My GOODNESS it was delicious. I don't think I can wait the year before diving into the top layer of the cake, so I will have to go back and visit these ladies at the Farmers Market to get more. Photos to follow! read more

I ordered my baby shower cake from here. I was mostly happy with the cake, but very unhappy with the customer service. We tried multiple times to place the order in advance, and they kept telling us that we had to wait for different dates closer to the shower. Then, when we finally were close enough to the shower to place the order, they tried to tell us they were booked and couldn't take the order. Finally, they agreed after speaking with the owner. We requested pink flowers (baby girl on the way!) to be on the cake and it was clearly written right on the receipt. Shower day comes and we go to pick up the cake, and it has purple flowers on it. They could care less that it was incorrect and did nothing to make up for it. They didn't even want to show us the cake at first before we left. They wouldn't switch the flowers for us or would not take money off to compensate. When we originally placed the order, they told us that the cake would be brought out to the car for us on a cart and that was not the case. We were also not told in advance that it was cash only, so we were not prepared and had to pay ATM fees in order to get enough cash out. These are all little things, but it adds up and we did not need that stress on the day of our event. The cake was nice, but not worth the frustration of dealing with this company who clearly didn't care about our business. read more
