Decided to go to make my gymnast-daughter happy, despite not liking heights. Glad I went with her and my husband. Our guides, Dakota, Kip, and Micah (and yes, even Jakey-poo) were a lot of fun and supportive. I give them 5 stars each!! My daughter ends up flipping her starts and I even managed to sort of go upside down on the last zip (#9). Takes about 2 hours. Totally worth it even though we got drenched in a downpour (we won't melt - we're not made of sugar!). About $600 for the 3 of us. Only negative was the cafeteria that though they had quesadillas on the menu said they were unavailable (though we saw others eating them...guess we weren't special enough!). Eat before you go as there's not much other than prefab sandwiches. read more

My husband and 10 year old daughter did the zipline and had a great time. My son and I waited at the end and was able to get videos and pictures of their last zipline. There's also a garden for and trails for those waiting to visit and a chance to see the falls. The people there were the best part. Thanks for a great experience. read more

Loved every second of this!!! I have been zip lining in Maui, and it was difficult. This was very easy and super enjoyable. If you think you can't do this, you should have seen the 5 year old girl that was in our group tearing it up and having a blast!!! It was my husband's first time, he was skeptical that he would enjoy it. About 1/2 way through the lines he said he wished we could just do it all day! This place has amazing views, the guides are super nice, very efficient and they make the experience exciting, fun and safe. My wife and I had a blast, we highly recommend this experience, we'll definitely be coming back. On a side note, the guidelines/suggestions for the experience said to NOT bring our phones, since it was our 1st time, we followed the rule, we were the only ones who did and we sure missed great opportunities for amazing pictures of ourselves in different points of the grounds, we rented the GO PRO camera and videoed the zip lines, sooo worth the $45 bucks. Also, make sure to bring some cash with you so you can tip the guides at the end of the trip, luckily we did think of this. Anyways, don't miss this experience, worth every buck. read more

What a great adventure!! A huge thank you to all the people at Umauma for helping this terrified old lady (64) and my two daughters have an amazingly fun day. I was impressed with how nice the office/store and surroundings were (made me feel that if they cared enough to take good care of all that area they cared enough to make sure that safety would be a priority). There's a really nice deck on the back of the store where my husband could enjoy the scenery and watch us arrive on the last line. The rigging, helmets and lines all looked in good condition. The guides were clear with rigging, Zipline and safety instructions. They were all very funny, fun loving and encouraging. The ATV tour was on a dirt road alongside grass fields which gave way to an extremely dusty/dirty drive and lacked in the great views we wanted to see. The waterfall swim was fun, but was more like 15 minutes and not the 45 minutes allotted in the schedule. All in all great intentioned trip, but needing better execution for the price. read more

AMAZING!! 18 waterfalls, 9 zip lines. I liked that you didn't have to hike in between each line. You just went from one line to the next. The suspension bridge did not have gaps between the steps where you have to worry about falling thru and you are securely fastened so it was fun. The 2nd line was the scariest but fun. There is a visitor center that has covered patios for those that chose not to zip line or they can tour the tropical gardens with free admission while they wait. The staff here are exceptional! Fun, fun, fun! Having zip lined a few times on Kauai (Princeville Ranch Adventures) I was very surprised how much more beautiful the scenery here was in comparison. The waterfalls, river, foliage, and ocean view were more than we expected! The zips were fun, safe, and long (which made for better videos of the breathtaking views). The guides Kevin, Kuhio and two other guys (sorry forgot their names) were the icing on the cake with their knowledge, wit, humor and genuine concern for our safety and well-being. TIP: Pick up a Big Island Hawaii Coupon Book and save $20 per person...which comes to $176 each. It's still pretty pricey but there are 9 zip lines and the scenery is totally worth it. The airport and most hotels have this pamphlet handy so keep an eye out for one. The guides were friendly and are in their 20s, so expect lots of joking around, which made the experience more fun. It was raining pretty hard (but sporadically), so the company operates rain or shine. Obviously, I'm alive, so don't let the rain stop you. I've never done ziplining before but I'm glad the Umauma Experience popped my bubble. 5 stars! read more

Beautiful property. They do a great job hiring super friendly people to work there. We did the ATV ride with Cayden and Wendy. Super nice and funny. The waterfall at the end is a nice addition to the tour. I would recommend a neck gator or bandana for the dust. Request the goggles over the glasses as well. Beautiful scenery and backdrop. 9 zip lines with 2,4,5,6 and 7 being the best. Great for the beginner. As stated by others, a bit pricey. Save $20 per person by using coupon in the yellow Big Island Hawaii Coupon Book, found most easily at the airport. Directions were terrible, impossible to find off of highway 19 unless you call them. No signage and nothing in their ad or website. Staff was decent and facilities were adequate. Beautiful weather made for an enjoyable day. An FYI for those traveling from Kona, it is about a 1-1/2 hour drive. Provide extra time to be sure. We had a one lane closure near the venue because of a small rock slide that needed to be cleared off the road, delayed us by 30 minutes. A very worthwhile part of your Big Island visit and adventure. My first time to ever zipline and well it was awesome. The drive up to the property was pretty amazing. We checked in the staff was super friendly. Although the wait time was longer than what we were told the day made up for it. So the guides put you in the gear and you get in a van and they take you up to the top of where the 9 ziplines start. Being a first timer and I am also terrified of heights. It is totally safe the guides made sure of that. You just step off the platform and off you go after the second zip you get used to the heights and it didn't bother me after that. You can even hang upside down which was cool. I wanted to give a big shout out to the guides CODY AND CHRIS they Definitely made it fun and were super friendly and the guy that worked at the counter also. You will see we all took a group photo at the end and he flipped the camera and did a selfie with the group pic. Also we spent a good portion of our day there just as a tip to plan around you will be there for a while our group had twenty ppl in it. We brought lunch to eat after we were pau for the day not much places to eat around until you get back to Hilo area. It is definitely worth it if you have never done it. Such an awesome zipline experience - highly recommended! My favorite part is that they give you the full harnesses, so you can go upside down while ziplining. So much fun! I have yet to zipline anywhere else that does this and every time I'm so disappointed. I also love the really long zipline they have (over 2,000 feet) and the tandem zipline, which was really fun to do with my husband especially since it was our honeymoon. Best ziplining experience. They have 9 lines, but Line 2 & 4 are the best lines by far. Line 2 has a tandem line where two people can go at the same time. I recommend both person has a camera so you guys can take videos of each other. Line 4 is the longest and the highest (2070 ft) of them all with breathtaking view of the cascading waterwalls; just make sure you go backwards. We had Justin and Ashley as our guide. They had us laughing the whole time. I've ziplined twice already, one in Catalina island and the other one at Maui, I believe this was the best out of all of them because I felt each line offered something different and by line 9, you'll be confident enough to hang upside down with no hands. read more

What a great experience! This place is amazingly beautiful. It was definitely worth the money. The guides were funny, cheerful, experienced, and absolutely safe. My kids(age 6/9) as well as all my niece/nephews(ages 9-14) had a great time as well as all of us adults. I highly recommend this place. They have a small snack area selling burgers(microwaved) and pre made sandwiches with other snacks as well, not much to eat along the way if you're driving from Waikoloa like we did. WOW! This was an amazing experience! The scenery & the staff were EXCEPTIONAL!! Our group was hesitant about paying the extra to do the "dip" portion, but we are so glad we did! The swimming pond was BEAUTIFUL, & swimming near and in the waterfall was a cool experience. Also, if you do the zip and dip, a complimentary lunch is included...WE HAD NO CLUE! What a pleasant surprise! One of the members of our group is gluten free, so we were sad she wasn't going to be able to eat lunch, BUT THEN they told her they had gluten free bread/wraps!!! Great height on zips, outstanding views over multiple falls. Excellent experience. Nice, clean gear. Nice property. The key to this place is that they let you go upside down, superman style, etc. Not everyone allows this. Kick your feet up over your head, rest them on the trolley, and go over the 200'+ falls upside down... an utterly amazing experience. Spring for the extra $50 or so and get the helmet cam. It made for some great post-zip video. The guides were not as friendly as I would have liked, but hey, they were keeping everything and everyone safe. read more

I Liked going over water falls and such, my only down part was that unlike other companies on the island you zip line thru a cattle ranch and not in the trees! But you do have the falls. Beautiful weather for zip lining Umauma! My husband and I always wanted to experience a zip line and chose Umauma due to friends reviews. Staff was very friendly and encouraging as this "thrill seeking experience" isn't for the faint of heart! Our group consisted of 6 which was perfect and the harness they hook you into gives you the sense of safety along with the staff that are always alert and pleasant. I'm not much of a thrill seeker but I highly recommend this zip line for even the most timid at heart! I promise you this will be a definite check mark off your "bucket list" and you will walk away triumphant! I come from Alaska which I was told that we have the longest zip line in the Nation but it doesn't beat the beautiful warm sunny weather and gorgeous water falls, swim holes and Aloha spirit of the staff! This was an AMAZING experience! The staff are very friendly and professional. The guides truly seem to love their jobs and the clients. We had James and Sean and they both seemed sincerely concerned that we were all enjoying our time throughout the zip lines. We had a blast!! The views were spectacular! We zipped over rivers, waterfalls, beautiful scenery with the ocean in the distance. I was terrified in the beginning because I had never done this before. But the guides helped ease my mind and I was LOVING it by the end! The 2nd zip line is the tandem one where you get to race side by side with another person. I was still getting used to everything and my hubby beat me! Lol. But it was so cool to talk to each other while zipping over the water.
