Flavors and drinks are great - barista help not so much. HoweI was trying to surprise my wife with her favorite drink, which all I knew was that it was a "berry-flavored coffee drink." This starts as a funny experience/misunderstanding, but I would've appreciated some help/suggestions from the "barista." I asked if there were any blueberry flavored drinks. At first the worker said it could be the blueberry muffin. The worker seemed confused when I asked if it had dairy (my wife can't have dairy) since their baked muffins are of course made with dairy. She then said the blueberry cookie doesn't have dairy, so I tried to order a 16 oz blueberry cookie coffee, thinking that was a specialty drink called that. She quickly told me that wasn't a coffee. This is when I realized she was talking about an actual muffin and cookie, not drinks. She clarified there are no blueberry drinks, but there was blackberry syrup. (Failing to mention any drinks that include that syrup - it was like pulling teeth! Aren't you supposed try to sell your drinks a bit more?) Seeing and heading of no drinks that might include the syrup, I just ordered coffee with the syrup. Get home - I was wrong. But there IS a drink that the worker failed to realize - Full Moon Latte. It has white chocolate and black berry flavoring. read more

This is one of my favorite coffee places! I love how they have flavored coffee in the mornings and offer delicious blueberry muffins! Unlike Starbucks, I never have to move or adjust the volume of my music. It's such a chill place to read, study, or catch up with friends. I haven't tried their specialty coffees yet but that's cause their traditional roast is so delicious! Definitely a must try in the MWC area. read more

I usually go to another coffee shop in MWC but i was crunched for time and this place is close to my work so i decided to give it a try. I got a caramel ice rage (their version of a frappe). I asked for skim and an extra shot Ed espresso. The person making the drink didn't see the +shot written on the cup so she had to remake my drink. They didn't put any syrup or drizzle in the drink like other places do. Overall not impressed with my drink. May try again. read more

The Underground is my favorite coffee shop for many reasons. First, they are local and invest in our community. Second, their coffee is delicious and they have so many options. Third, the atmosphere is a great place to study or have a meeting if you have time to go in. The drive thru is also convenient if you're in a hurry or have somewhere to be. They have frozen hot chocolate and my tip is to add the toasted marshmallow syrup because it really completes the drink. Can't go wrong with an ice rage or a white mocha. read more

I am from Seattle, WA and needed a meeting place to meet with a client in Oklahoma. I found The Underground when I searched for coffee shops near me and ran by the day before to make sure they were actually there as I have mapped meeting places that were vacant when we got there. Not only were they there they had an awesome coffee shop/bistro vibe that made me feel right at home. I have come to love London Fog and theirs was one of the best I have ever had! The flavor was strong and the ratios of flavors were totally in balance. The staff was wonderful to myself and my client and the atmosphere was vibrant but quiet enough that we could talk during out meeting. A great space! Before leaving to head to Arkansas, we wanted to get coffee for the road. I looked on here, and this seemed to be the place to try. The atmosphere seemed pretty cool. Very family friendly. I asked the person at the register which she would recommend between two of the drinks. She looked blankly at me, and didn't have a suggestion. I ended up choosing the one that sounds similar to European trip. The drinks came out soon. We said thank you and went on our way. The coffee was weak and didn't have much of a taste. The Underground is one of the OG's of Midwest City's most reputable active official hipster hang-outs. I remember being in 7th grade when this adorable alternative-esque coffee shop opened. This quickly became the spot for the group I ran with to go to and pretend to be domesticated at, when we werent instead out running a muck elsewhere. This is the most eloquent place we attended. The Underground has a super awesome and spacious living/den area for all the cool kids to lounge out and enjoy their wifi in. Their menu offers SO much, and it is all GREAT !! I recommend a Vanilla Chi Tea Latte, if you are going for a hot drink- and as for frozen- ANY AND ALL of the frozen drinks are heaven !! If you haven't been, you MUST go !! The atmosphere is one that puts you at ease, and is the perfect start, end or random stop for any day ! read more

Not a good place to study and not a good coffee shop vibe. Loud music, loud employees, loud bunch of group church ladies talking shit on the one friend that missed church because she worked a double at the hospital. Loud game board players that are so into playing "Hitler" games that you start to question the safety of others and yourself. Good coffee though. read more

I've been to Underground many times -- both on Tinker within the Medical Clinic and at the main location on Douglas in Midwest City. I have failed to write a review. Shame on me. However, I decided to write a review right now, at 8:00 pm on a Saturday night because today, I went to That Famous and Pretentious Indie Coffee Shop Near St. Anthony's in OKC. There is a lot of hype surrounding TFaPICSNSAiOKC; but today, I actually realized the gem that is Underground. TFaPICS does roast its own coffee, and it is pretty good. Not to be outdone, Underground sources locally-roasted coffee. So it isn't roasted on-site. Whatever. It is roasted to their specs, and it is done locally. The roasts they offer are interesting, ranging from mild to robust. Their menu includes a lot of sweet, foo-foo drinks. I don't go for Snickers mochas, but I would also never put someone down because they *do* like them. I can only imagine the look of disdain one would be given at TFaPICS should one order a Snickers. At the time of this review, Underground doesn't offer pour-over, cold brew, or other unique techniques. They do espresso and brew. And they do those things really well. But here is where Underground excels, and TFaPICS does NOT: you know you are a valued customer; you are not a burden to the people who work there; the seating is actually comfortable; the decor and ambiance is cozy; the music isn't overwhelming -- it is in the background. Basically, I actually enjoy the time I spend there. When I go to TFaPICS, it feel like I'm there because it's the place I'm supposed to go, not the place I actually WANT to go. They offer a few breakfast and lunch items that will satisfy your hunger -- not gourmet, but a much better alternative to fast-food drive-thru; which reminds me, Underground has a drive-thru. Their sandwiches are good. I haven't had their smoothies, so I can't comment on those. Kids are welcome. There is a small, separate room in front that can be reserved for meetings like book clubs, study groups, Bible studies, etc. Otherwise, it is open for any one to use. But be ready to vacate, as it is popular, and often reserved. I only wish they were open evenings. It would be a great place for this tired mom to get away and chill. It's nice to have an indie coffee house in Midwest City. Give them your business. read more

The Underground is the best place to get a great cup of coffee in Midwest City. If you are wanting a basic cup of coffee or a fancy triple shot, caramel macchiato over ice, The Underground is the place to go. Their selection is huge, with so many options. Coffee-lovers and even non-coffee lovers are bound to find something they will love. They have all the traditional coffee drinks (Mochas, Lattes, Cappuccinos, etc...) but they also have options for non-coffee lovers (frappuccinos, iced teas, hot teas, fruit smoothies, and Italian cream sodas). On top of great drinks, they also sell sandwiches, muffins, and other snack-y items. This is a great place to do homework or meet with friends. The staff is great and is always so friendly. They will even give suggestions on things you may like to try if you aren't quite sure what you may like. I love the Underground not only because I love to support local businesses, but because they provide amazing quality products with great service. Good food, fair drinks, wonderful service. As it is, I work nearby here, so I thought to try it because I was 100% over Braum's and delivery Chinese (they're both p good tho). This place is cozy. Small, but not tiny. It looked like a good place to study and stuff like that. Two boys were minding the place. They appeared young. Somewhere between 18-21. I say this is relevant because they were adorable. Maybe I was just charmed that there are two young men in the service industry who aren't sulking and generally unpleasant. I made my order over the phone, and the one who took it had the patience of a saint. In the midst of my order, a co-worker came over in a huff (mostly playing, ofc) because she wanted something from there, too. So I finished my order and begged his pardon as she decided what she wanted. He didn't seem bothered, or he's a good actor. After laughing about it, I finished the order and went to pick it up. As I've already gone over the service (fantastic), we're done with that. 4 Berry fruit smoothie 3.5/5: Maybe 4*? Definitely no less than 3.5. It was good and the price was alright. If you're expecting Jamba Juice, it is vastly different. It doesn't taste as sugary but all the fruit taste is definitely in there. I enjoyed it. It was refreshing, whereas I find JJ to be a little too filling (but still so good okay). Chicken salad sandwich on multigrain bread 4/5: Chicken salad 5/5. It was some good chicken salad. Not overly sweet like some can be. A good mix of savory and sweet. The bread was interesting. I may try wheat next time. The only pitfall was the price. $6 for a very small sandwich and a drink (I feel the drink was too big and I'd rather have more sandwich~). But in retrospect, maybe it was still worth it. Filling, at least. But I also got, Corn chowda 3.5/5: More like corn soup. The consistency didn't agree with chowder. It was just a hair bland, but had enough flavor to save it from a 2* or 3*. Would I get it again? Eh, maybe not. Again, price point. But this one definitely didn't match up. read more
