The absolute worst!!! Avoid the uniform store at all costs. I placed my order nearly 2 months ago and still have not received it. When I ordered the email confirmation said it would arrive between 1-2 weeks. My kids had school pictures so I asked if they could at least make one polo each and they proceeded to let me know they could... for $30 extra. We made an appointment online for my daughter's uniform fitting. It was easy and quick. The appointment times were 15 mins in duration. This location is in a busy part of La Mesa and next to a froyo shop. The small shooing center has limited parking, esp on the weekend. It was busy when we arrived but luckily we found parking. The store is on the right side toward the back. It was busy when we walked in but there were ample employees to help out. There are several dressing rooms towards the back of the store and the employee would bring the various uniform outfits and sizes. Our person was nice but had limited knowledge in sizing or recommendations. I ended up sizing up so that my daughter can get the most use with the amount we were spending on the uniforms. So half the uniforms we were able to bring home with us since they did screen print on site. Any embroidery on the uniform would take a couple weeks, which means you would need to make the drive out again to pick up. This was the only option for us to buy uniforms, so we had to comply. Luckily, we ordered our uniforms early and we weren't in a rush to get them. The do have promos/sales so check often. When I initially looked at the various options, there were promos; however, when we went in the store the next day, they told me that it had ended and they wouldn't honor the sale. Boo! read more

This place sucks. Unfortunately since the other main uniform supplier went under this is basically the only option for most private schools in San Diego. The staff here is so slow and act like they've never interacted with other humans before. I tried to order more when I was picking up my order but was told to order online instead. I was literally standing in the shop with my credit card trying to get more items and the girl helping me didn't want to do an order and told me it would be easier if I just ordered online. Easier for who? Her? So bizarre. Also the embroidered items come with plastic on them, when I asked about it they gave me a three step processes to remove it, what the heck how about you give me items ready to wear! I saw the horrible reviews but this was the only option that my girls' school offered so I gritted my teeth and went ahead to place an order for two pairs of pants on Aug 14. The website said it would take 3 weeks due to a school rush. We were willing to acceot 3 weeks. Now it's been 5 months. Not a single update. Not a single response to the emails and voicemail I've left. Nada. For many kids, they might even grow out of the clothes in 5 months. I cannot understand how this place stays in business other than the fact that schools are unwittingly forcing families to deal with this company. This company is absolutely horrible to work with. I placed an order for my daughter's uniforms in August. We were late with ordering due to changing schools last minute. I knew there would be a delay in receiving her uniforms but I didn't expect to be completely ignored after spending hundreds of dollars. I have called numerous times and left messages with no calls returned. I used their text feature and didn't receive any responses to my texts either. The only response I received was via email but the emails were extremely short and didn't provide any update on my order. I'm hesitant to drive to the store because it's an hour away and I'm afraid they will turn me away or not have the uniforms. Per their email, the shirts I ordered are in stock and available to pick up or ship. However, it's been over 3 weeks and they haven't been shipped. Also no update on when they will ship. I ended up making multiple shirt/pants purchases and was told to return after a day or two so they can sew on the schools emblem. After daily phone calls for a week my son uniform had not been finished; so I asked for a refund. The store manager refused to refund my purchases unless I paid a 30% restock fee! I asked why did I have to pay a "restock fee" over non-finished uniforms......Store Policy. I threatened to take him to small claims court for the entirety of my purchases and he said, "go ahead!" After a week he relented and I discovered a refund on my credit card. Glad my son's new school doesn't contract with these idiots. read more

Nobody wants to work here including the lackadaisical manager. They have one register working in august, one person checking out, embroidering and ordering all at the same time. It's a uniform store what can I complain about? They had my sons size and answered all of my silly mom questions. Tabitha and Ana were super helpful, friendly, and cheerful. The store doesn't answer any phone call. Whenever I asked for help, the associates always said to text the store. I'm not a teenager, and I deserve a right to talk to an associate for assistance. The store's attitude towards customers already rubs me the wrong way. Secondly, they will only serve you if you have an appointment. Trust me, I won't come here if my children can get their uniforms somewhere else. HOWEVER, I do want to make one thing clear. The associates have wonderful services. When I DO make it inside the store, they are all very helpful. They will do their best to help. So my complain is all about the store policy. I walk in and this girl asks if i need help, as the other reviews they are not friendly and seem like they do not want to be here. It was almost like i was inconveniencing them to do their job. Made an appointment online for a fitting, as this is the only store to order uniforms for my kid's school. Arrived early, but waited probably 10-15 mins past my appointment time before being seen. The workers helping with the fittings are friendly and help look up all of the school uniform policies to ensure we're picking the appropriate pieces. Once you have decided on what articles you are purchasing then you wait in line to pay. Expect to wait as it is a slow process to get checked out. If the items you buy can be engraved through the hot press, they will generally do it right away, having you wait for it to finish. Other times they have to send for engraving/stitching which could be hours or days. Overall, the whole process is slow and could be a lot more efficient. I try to get everything in one trip for the year to avoid coming back. read more

After I month I didn't hear anything so I emailed them and they responded that my order is ready. This is the worst ever customer service !!! I submitted an order online because they never answered after I submitted the order immediately I noticed I ordered YL instead of Large so I called-no answer I texted - no answer 8 I called and left a message and called again and still no answer. I left text messages and called again with no response. I went up to the place and they said that I have to have an appointment so I left. Then my friend had an appointment the next day and i asked my friend to ask since she had an appointment and they told her it would be ready soon but gave her no more options to changing it. Usually I come here because it's the only place that offers my children's uniforms and usually the customer service is meh not the best customer service but today I came in and ROSIE gave me the best customer service I have received since I started coming here (5 years). She helped me with sizing, was very helpful and even asked the manager about certain questions I had about the uniforms. Went in on August 8th and August 14th, both times the place is packed. They have nice people helping you to select your items but when it comes to paying, the line is long! They only have 2 registers!! Some folks take a long at the registers because they have questions, need something else or having to place an order, which should be done separately than those that are done and just needs to pay! Their system needs to change somehow to fix the issue at the register. I had to place an order because the items I needed were out of stock. Everything everyone is saying about The Unifrom Stoer is true. I ordered 2 polo shirts and a skirt on 8-11-22. I haven't received my items and can't get ahold of anyone at the store for inquiries. I have tried to text and email, but the messages go unanswered. Their order status inquiry portal doesn't find my order either. This is not the first time they have been slow and haven't had basic items in stock. I am reporting them to the school and Better Business Bureau. We stopped on in on Friday, September 10th and we're impressed with the customer service from the employees. They are short staffed, and overwhelmed, but they are a great groups of people. They were able to accommodate us and exchange and try on different uniforms for my daughter who has picture day next week. We ordered school uniform from this place on September 2nd. We're in November and our order is still not ready. Initially before placing our order, we were told it would take 10-14 days for our order to be ready. Because of that false promise they made, I placed an order. We tried calling, texting and emailing numerous times and no one ever picks up or emails back. The manager/owner is an absolute rude and unprofessional person, I didn't get her name but she's an older woman with long hair. They claim shortage of staff (lie) because they have a bunch of people working at the store, and shortage of supply is what's causing the delay. If that's true, then it's the business's fault for not preparing in advance. Also, all the other uniform stores I called, they didn't have "the shortage" issue and if they did on certain products, it was a week delayed only. I don't care if my child's school has contract with them or not, I will never give them my business. I spoke to 10 other families and they all said the same and we found another place for uniforms. Not only the business is awful, but their prices are the most expensive with very very cheap products. I finally got my refund after a month of in person request. When I was canceling my order I was curious to know when my order would have been ready and the girl upfront said we're looking at end of December/early January. So basically the business lied to me when they told me it'll be ready in 2 weeks. I wish I had read those reviews before I placed an order. Also, for some people that are saying they don't have a choice to go somewhere else, YES YOU DO! This business is breaching their contracts with the schools by giving false information to parents and neglecting to communicate when asked about orders. You can find the same uniform online and go get it monogrammed anywhere else. I'm generously giving them one star because zero is not an option. read more

Schools beware! Do not take your business here. I originally ordered on 8/26/22. I made an appointment for a fitting. They responded to that request just fine. I kept calling , left several VMs, they have a text option, I texted and I also emailed. I finally had time to personally walk in to check on my order on 9/20/22 and only one piece of a 3 piece order was at the store. No one had updated me. I asked for the remaining pieces to be delivered at no change. The cashier Rachel was kind enough to waive the delivery fee. I ordered another 2 pieces. Luckily they had a polo with the school name already in store in my daughters size. I have to wait for the jumper to be embroidered. I asked her to ship with the other pieces. It's now a week later and I've called emailed and texted today for an update. I don't have enough uniforms for the entire week. I thought ordering a month in advance would have been sufficient time. My number 1 complaint is lack of communication to paying customers and the school for updates. School pics are coming and we still don't have the required cardigan or an update. I hope after all these attempts it reaches someone that can update me on my order. My older daughter also ordered online and paid a delivery fee and is yet to receive an update. After purchasing upwards of $400 at this store online I called to exchange one item that was $50 because the sizing was extremely off. The store refused to help me out in any way. Wouldn't exchange the item, wouldn't replace the item, and wouldn't even give me a discount to replace the item. If you can I advise you shop elsewhere. read more

I've had two experiences with the uniform store and both of them were terrible. The first one was during Covid and they wouldn't let my daughter try on anything so we had to order based on measurements. The majority the items we ordered did not fit so I asked for an exchange. They would not allow any exchanges or returns due to Covid so we were stuck with items that didn't fit. The second experience we ordered a sweatshirt and it took forever to be delivered and once we received it it was too small. Today we took it back to exchange for a larger size and they refused to do our exchange. This place has the worst customer service and the uniform sizes are not standard so it makes it hard to find the right sizes for your kids. read more
